    Amazing...Remember vividly listening to these games on the radio, huddled on the stairs, hoping against hope for the Cavs to win. I'll never forget it. Or Joe Tait, for that matter.

    What a great series. Incredible intensity on both teams. Much respect to Cavs Nation and to the city of Cleveland for their undying support.

    More leisure suits worn in that crowd than at an Amway Convention.

    What irony: two coaches who won titles with the Celtics playing for the right to play the Celtics

    Was at game 5 with my father, will never never forget that feeling. If the gentleman who was in the seat front of me is out there thanks for understanding the popcorn shower you got.....Campy Russell hit an outside shot (11:23) I jumped up and you can imagine the rest.

    It is interesting that Washington's broadcast team included ex Washington football quarterback Sonny Jurgensen, who did a pretty good job.

    How could a team with Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes on the front line give up _so many_ offensive put backs for baskets? Morale was often not good on the Bullets, with the result that one NBA title chance after another slipped by. Thank goodness Wes finally got his title in 1978.
    Of course, this is about the Cavs. Congrats to them.

    Surprising to see a former football player (Sonny Jurgensen) analyze games 5 and 7.

      That means he's versatile and he has a know how on basketball too, even though he's a former football player.

      Yeah, I was listening and saying to myself< "I recognize that voice". It took me about 10 minutes before it clicked and I was like the HOF QB is doing basketball color commentary for the Washington team. It fits.

    • @gregpaspatis9425

      @mbclev Just thought you would be interested to know Sonny Jurgensen was a varsity basketball player with the Duke Blue Devils in the 1950s ACC conference. By the dawn of the 1970s he had his own local TV show before every season one Mon. Night Football game on the local ABC station in Wash. D.C. and also did commentary on some locally televised Maryland Terrapins basketball games.

    These games need to be made available in Full. I don't believe the BS that these games don't exist anymore in full. The NBA is as bad as the NFL with this BS. How do I own the AFC Championship game from the Raiders in 1976 against the Steelers but for some reason the game against the Patriots in the Divisional playoffs is unavailable.

    • @zxccxz164
      @zxccxz164 3 года назад +1

      because they don't care about their fans (former for me)

    • @epaddon
      @epaddon 2 года назад

      Because back in those days, videotape reels could not hold an entire broadcast on a single tape. That's the reality. There are other examples of World Series and other games in which only part exists because a tape reel containing the other part is missing. And home taping was not widely available yet since a Beta machine cost $3000. The networks and the leagues did a lot of stupid things in terms of preservation but when they air something that isn't complete that isn't the result of a conspiracy.

    • @MerensWorld
      @MerensWorld 2 года назад

      @@epaddon NFL Films has lost a lot of things that actually do exist like the Sea of Hands game, Its weird how I have all these Monday night Football games in my own Archives from the 70s. the 1970 Browns/ Jets game. A couple Raider games from the early 70s yet no AFC Divisional playoff from 1976. Yet I have every Raiders playoff game from 1980. Seems very suspicious to me. And some of the games I do have came out of Youngstown Ohio. Same with stuff they refused to put on DVD the Spiderman Live action TV Series. I am sure the Heidi game is out there. I found the Rookies Pilot on here.

    • @RayManzarekRocks
      @RayManzarekRocks 2 месяца назад +1

      Because the Patriots got jobbed (for a change) and the NFL doesn't want us to remember that the outcome was rigged to favor Al Davis and the Raiders, who were the far better TV draw.
