2ds xl is good for the value and especially if you won’t use 3d, but the new 3ds xl is definitely the better choice
But the new 3ds xl looks so pixelated because the screen is so big yet has the same resolution

@DonovanE19 oh no i know that, i prefer the smaller models just in general compared to the xl models
@slurples149 oh I completely understand that, the picture on smaller renditions is a lot more clear than that of an xl. Personally I have large hands so the xl model is always my go to

The face tracking feature that the new 3ds xl has works really fine, also no other consoles gives you that 3d experience so I find it kind of cool.
i got a 2DS XL that can run minecraft and crap. its the same exact thing, just with out the 3D slider. I have had mine for 5 years and never sent it in for repair. got it off facebook marketplace on June 15, 2019. Best Purchase ever.
I wanted a New 2DS XL because it kind of more portable and I didn't want 3D, but thanks to my friend who sold his jailbroken New 3DS XL for like 90$ in pretty good condition, it has minor scratches, but not critical

@@facelessG Now that's a reasonable reason why you moved to new 2DS XL, KCK just said that it's because it has a better microSD card slot even though all microSD card slots are equally the same.
Still have my New 3DS XL from launch day and it looks mint condition, even today it’s a fantastic console
If you buy a new 3ds xl make sure to also get a protective case cause the metal starts to peel off after a few months or years from your skin oils

I wanna buy a second hand system and so many people are hyping the 2ds xl, only a few including Max really hyped the 3ds xl, and I have someone willing to sell, so if I can get him to come down on the price a bit I think I may get it even though I think the 2ds is a cooler looking system.

my sister has had her 2ds xl screen break a couple times, then mine had battery issues twice. replacing a 2ds xl battery SUCKS btw
i do prefer the lightweight of it since i love using it to draw, but man i hate that camera placement.
i just wish the n3ds xl had easy access to the sd card

imho I feel the fragility of the N2DS XL is overstated here. It's not the OG Gameboy brick but it's more than sufficient. It's easy to find wrecked examples of every iteration of the 3DS generation.

Watching this right after buying my dream 2DS XL feels cursed, Back in the day I owned the normal 2DS and I always hated the fact that it couldnt fold like the 3DS did. But since it was cheaper it was the way to go, but even after this video im still looking forward to my beloved foldable 2DS XL to deliver 😅

I get that the 2DS XL feels cheaper, but a lot of your comments about a thin top screen aren't truthfully exclusive to the 2DS XL. Plenty of people have snapped their 3DS XL top screen off, shattered it on accident, etc. The 2ds and 3ds aren't resilient consoles at all. If you buy one, no matter the model, don't plan on dropping it and don't handle it with excessive force because you more than likely will break something, although I can't imagine someone older than 15 would be handling these consoles like a toddler.
As an owner of a DS Lite & NEW 3DS XL, I think ANY version of the DS/3DS family is a winner. The amount of games for the DS and the 3DS are astronomical. Can't play physical or virtual DS or 3DS games on a Switch.

You can still buy new 3DS XLs for like $150 if its japanese. I got mine this year (New 3DS LL) You really don't need to region change it either. Only the home is Japanese. All the games become region unlocked when you homebrew Luma on it.
I don't know about any of the new 3ds but the OG is UNBELIEVABLY tough.
Even though the 2ds is a slimmer and cheaper version I still would prefer the 3ds

It's worth upgrading to the new 3ds xl, but not the 3ds xl. The new 3ds xl is a night and day difference from the original 3ds

I thought I was the only one who had the game getting stuck issue 💀but I agree the new 3ds xl is better. When the n2ds first came out, id say it was the better option just cuz of the price but now they both go for around the same (overpriced) price on ebay so you might as well go with the n3ds. great vid!

Also, me and my brother used our 2DS Xl's to death when he was like 4, and they're still in near mint condition.
My 2ds xl didn't ever have the game cart issue but it did fail in a weird way,i closed it,charged it went to open it and it wouldn't turn on the screens but it would turn on,I did homebrew it before it failed, surprisingly Nintendo did not find out and sent me a brand new one for no charge

I got my Nintendo 2DS XL along with a copy of Pokémon Ultra Moon on Monday November 20th, 2017 when I was a Senior in high school and I still own them.

I bought a 2ds xl because it was the only new 3ds/2ds console that was on ebay for a good price but it has many problems that you also mentioned like the cheap plastic that it's made of, the display that you can see through the console on the right side and i think that the hinge gets much more wobbly than other 3ds consoles. The 2ds already came with a little crack on the top but i sadly cannot sent it to nintendo to repair because i already hacked it 💀. But It's definitly an upgrade to my old crusty, broken 2ds were the circle pad was gone and the games were also stuck in
I prefer the 2 Ds XL is equal to the new 3 Ds XL but i prefer the new 2 Ds XL for the fact "She" doesn't have 3D
The New 2DS XL was the Game Boy Micro of the 3DS family. It ruined the 3DS family for being a really crappy handheld. And here is what I mean:
1. The New 2DS XL is made out of easy-to-break matte plastic.
2. The New 2DS XL's top screen is floppy.
3. The New 2DS XL's home button gets stuck.
4. The New 2DS XL's stylus is way too small and the stylus does not extend and retract.
5. The New 2DS XL is impossible to repair.
6. It is not as sturdy as the New 3DS and New 3DS XL.
7. The New 2DS XL's speakers are at the bottom of the handheld, causing the speakers to be muffled.
And 8. What were Nintendo thinking back when they created the New 2DS XL?!!
1st of all, just be more careful with the system like i have been in my 3 years of owning it, and 2nd of all, about the speakers being muffled, not only is that the wrong way to hold the system, but headphones exist. and i always use headphones.

All I can say is I've owned both (Pre-owned) and after one 3 foot drop the N2dsXL started bugging out and eventually stopped working. The N3dsXL feels so much sturdier, kinda like a Switch (Maybe a little more fragile). My money goes to the N3dsXL.
Meanwhile the N3DSXL wishes it had a reachable SD card slot like the N2DSXL
I have an original pink 3ds, but one day I strive to buy a 3ds xl.
Personally the ergonomics of the 2ds xl just feel way better for me than the new 3ds xl hence why i daily drive it

Con with the New 3DS XL (and the regular version too) : You have to open the backplate (which is protected by screws btw) every single time you want to do anything with the sd card
So for modding, that's a pro to the New 2DS XL

2DS XL is flimsy but I've never had any issues with mine that I bought at launch. Of the two though I definitely prefer the "New" 3DS XL.
I prefer my chunky animal crossing 3DS (not the “new” one) over my black/blue 2DS. It just feels better to play on.
I have both those AWESOME Nintendo's greatest handheld consoles of all time New 3DS XL Red Super Smash Bros Special Edition and New 2DS XL just that same black and blue colored version, but white and orange colored version is cool too. New 3DS XL was my first got in christmas 2013 over 10 years ago what makes me to feel old gamer and when it's screen sadly wen't broken I got New 2DS XL what's nothing like 2DS because it's more like 3DS for me defienitily it's look is like a 3DS and works the same way I really LOVE Nintendo 3DS/2DS not just the best Nintendo's handhelds, but also the best handheld consoles of all time that was my childhood after DS this video was good thank you! 💙🖤

My sister has a 2DS XL and I have the new 3DS xl.
And I can safely say that I prefer the 3DS. As much as I like how comfortable the 2DS XL is. The new 3DS XL is nearly just as good. And it has everything

The only thing I think the New 2DS XL does truly better than New 3DS XL, if the "paint".
My NN3DSXL is like new, but I have had a crystal case for years and I have seen how a lot of those systems look like if you didn't have one, it's like a sticker on top of it.
For the rest I never liked the New 2DS XL, 2DS made sense in a lot of regards, plus it was dirt cheap (99 euro with a game before New models came out, while regular 3DS and 3DS XL where like 60 euro more without a game)
The regular 2DS made some choice that make sense, but the moment I start about the New 2DS XL I start to sum up all the "but why?" things.
Like smaller stylus, speakers in terrible location, cameras in terrible location, "3D" feel designs on some more limited models, making them incompatible with cases made for that model and so on and so on.
The list is so long, I wonder what Nintendo was even thinking when they designed this thing.
And it wasn't cheap, when New 2DS XL launched over here, even the New 3DS XL was cheaper.
Heck, the only time the New 2DS XL made sense in my country was when Nintendo stopped selling the New 3DS and New 3DS XL, because until the last one were sold, they were always cheaper than New 2DS XL.
i bought the new 3ds not xl only problem is was not really mint condition and i played around with the stylus a lil bit to much so it kinda slides out sometimes
So the rubber on the joystick didn´t come with it the c nub has ben pierced by the last persons nail and the 3d slider thing has kinda fell of or sum prob possible to just put it on but i dont have one besides that its fine please tell me how to replace the rubber on the joysticks tho 😭

I have an Old 3ds XL (when I was a kid) and New 2ds XL (purchased in 2022).
Honestly? Old Nintendo models are much better.
The old versions (especially the old 3ds XL) are simple.
They have a much more comfortable layout, have a higher impact resistance and are much cheaper.
So if you wanna buy a Nintendo 3ds in 2024, I recommend you to buy the first old 3ds or the old 3ds XL.

I’m NEVER buying a 3ds xl ever again the last time I did the screen came off the buttons were all sticky the screen was scratched up and I could even play it(I think I’ll buy a normal 2ds because I had it for 3-4 years before my dumb A$$ decide to throw it down my stairs and it broke like 2 days ago in January 2021)

I only have a normal 2DS, but from what I've seen the New 3DS XL looks just exactly the same as the New 2DS XL but it's just objectively better.
The difference between the 2 is pretty huge, you can easily tell the New 3DS XL was made to be the premium version and the New 2DS XL a much more budget friendly option
if you will *cough* do something nintendo doesn't wan't *cough* 2ds xl is best
