    "Has there been a player as good as Connor McDavid at his age?"
    Crosby first 301 career games: 138 goals - 408 points (1.355 points per game)
    McDavid first 301 career games: 134 goals - 395 points (1.312 points per game)
    Crosby suffered a series of concussions that sat him out his age 23 season, where he was on pace for 64 goals and 132 points in 82 games (1.61 points per game -ended with 32 goals in 41 games)
    He doesn't try too many 'flashy' plays anymore, but they still somehow come to him.

      @@tzhell That's all he have. Crosby had Malkin on his team, much better player than Draisaitl, in the same tier of players of Crosby and McDavid. He played with him on power plays, and since Malkin could be as great as a treat as Crosby, the other team had to split their focus. All the focus is on McDavid's line. The argument could stop there... but the rest of Crosby team was much better also. The Oilers don't have an offensive defenseman remotely as good as Letang, they don't have the center line Pitts had, etc.

    • @tzhell
      @tzhell 5 лет назад +19

      @@kimpiche5825 Dude Draisaitl is a top 3 player right now so idk what you're on about. Different eras, different players. Draisaitl is playing actually better than Malkin has at the moment, and they're on the same LINE, not just power plays. And no, Crosby's teams were horrible for most years, carried by those 2 players and the occasional Staal would chip in, just like James Neal is doing for you guys. 2016 was a different story, they finally had a good team.

    They are two completely different players, with very different styles of play. Check out xXlaflammeXx channel to see some really intense compilations of Crosby. Connor is more a player with impressive quickness, who just might develop into a player with more layers as he ages. I hope so. Now it is hard to watch him play because I always say 'what just happened' as he is so fast. Crosby is so versatile, even as he is slowing down, there are games he literally controls everything. Sid's first year was Mario's last year. the pride and joy on Mario's face when Sid got his first goal is part of what sets hockey apart from anything else.
    fun fact, Sid lived in Mario's guest house his fist year.
    Malkin lived in Gonchar's. (Malkin and Gonchar are both Russian)

      Brian Fairfield I’m talking strictly about scoring goals and Crosby, who is an incredible goal scorer, doesn’t come close to the the consistency and numbers that of Ovi has. Ovechkin is going to break 801 (Howe’s record) at least by end of his career which puts him in number 2 of all time with Howe (3rd) and Gretzky.. in an era where goals were harder to score and there was significantly less goals per game on average. So yes if he gets to top 2 I think you can make that argument. Ovis gonna get 700 fucking goals by the end of this season and he’s 34..

    The shimmy with the puck is called stick handling. Its the first skill learned by wee ones (pee-wee's) after learning to skate. NHL players have spent 1000's of hours practicing this.. on frozen ponds, backyard rinks and local arenas. (or on the road/driveway during our brief but glorious summers here in Canada).
    A dangle or toe-curl (referring to the toe of the stick) is a move performed while stick-handling.. usually during a deke. And you always keep your head up while handling the puck or you end up in the Big Hits videos. Wheel snipe celly, boys. Ferda.

Like recently just easily blowing past Eckman-Larson to score, or when he scored off of Chara's stick, or when he got Seabrook and Keith to concentrate on him then spun around and somehow did a blind pass through both of them to Draisaitl. I think he's done something similar to the majority of elite defensemen at this point

    • @Matt-sl1wg
      @Matt-sl1wg 5 лет назад

      McDavid is so fast that he doesn't even have to do half the shit Crosby can do. The way Crosby can dance around behind the goal line until he finds an opening is uncanny, but why do that if you can just turn the corner for a breakaway? Crosby is that guy in NHL videogames that you just can't touch or push off the puck when you do, while he dances around your offensive zone until he can slice to the net or pass to the slot. McDavid is the guy who made a character with 99 Speed with high Shooting and Passing instead.

    So, in ice hockey there is a thing called "deking" which is where you fake a shot and then pass, or vice versa, which draws the opposing player out of positon, and when you can do it really, really well it's called "having hands" which just means you stick handle between shooting and passing position so quickly that they disorient the opposing player and then they can just step right around him.
