Yeah he's used to seeing Lebron miss 2 weeks cuz of a hang nail. Welcome to a real sport 👍
If I remember right, Eriksson Ek's leg was broken after blocking three Shea Weber slappers. He also received a round of applause from the Bell Center even though the Wild was the away team that night.
Chara's jaw was broken and he came back in the next period😲💪!
Love from Toronto 💕
Chara broke his jaw and came back to play, hate him cause he’s a Bruin but that man is a savage. Every team you move your head or take a hit or make a pass. It is just horrendous pain. Granted he was probably fucked up on a bunch of pain killers. Guys a warrior.
Hockey players are a different breed of toughness
They really are !
@Andreas Lorraine I’m good
Honorable mention (since they postponed the game so he literally *couldn't* come back) to Rich Peverly, who went into cardiac arrest during a game, and, upon being revived, asked his coach how much time was left in the period.
They really didn’t have Gregory Campbell completing his shift after breaking his leg on here, I’m really surprised they didn’t you should definitely react to that it was unreal.
In my defense he reacted to Part 2. Part 1 is where you can see Campbell's clip.
Well then I’ll have to react to part 1 😊
That's what I was thinking
My son took a puck to the mouth in beer league. Beer League refs insist you leave if you are bleeding...he was PISSED.
He wound up having essentially 3 lips..it killed 1 tooth and fractured 1 tooth. He was so mad they made him get off the ice LMAO
It's old but one of the most famous incidents of playing through pain is Bobby Baun. Scored a game 6 playoff game winner on a broken leg. You can find clips of this even though it happened back in 1964
Damn that’s dedication!
This year (2023) Morgan Barron of the Winnipeg Jets took a blade to the face. It required 75 stitches, but he was back on the bench and playing. Hockey players are a different breed.
Funny thing about that play at around 7:30 in the play…. I was watching that game and marveling over Tim Brent and James Reimer for that game. Both of them ended up playing for the Canes (my team) 😊
I played hockey here in Minnesota for 40 years. Too many injuries to list. I used to dislocate my left shoulder and put it back in the socket without breaking
my stride. Got a concussion once. I was out for about 5 minutes. I later came back to score the game winning goal. No player worth a damn, wants to be
the guy that quit because he wasn't tough enough. Good hockey players, redefine what being tough really means.
Damn that’s real toughness
“I can’t imagine being hit with a puck in the mouth” I can tell you from experience, I was hit in the cheek with one and by god does it feel like someone swings a bat at your face
One of the ladies on the Olympic hockey team had a broken hand and scored the game winner a few years back.
I was skating around an outdoor rink in Winnipeg one time. Bitterly cold night, it was just me (an adult) and 4-5 kids. They were passing the puck around and it squirts free and heads my way so I smack it back towards them. Well I hit it a little too hard and it cranks this kid right in the shin and he drops like a stone. I skate over and say OMG are you ok?! Sorry kid! So this 10 year old climbs to his feet and says through clenched teeth _I'm ok. I take the pain_ . I had this curious mix of personal shame and Canadian pride haha.
In game three of the 2023 Stanely Cup Finals, Matthew Tkachuck of the Panthers broke his sternum after taking a big hit in the first period. Late in that game he scored the tying goal, sending it to overtime. It was the Panthers only win of the series. Tkachuck also played in game four with the injury.
2nd guy had a broken jaw. Imagine the pain every time his jaw moves
Got speared in second period of a game (2 minute penalty), and didn't feel well but kept playing. In the dressing room between periods the Trainer asked me what the score was and because I could answer him, thought I was probably OK. Played the third period and was still in pain so drove myself to the hospital after the game. Spent night in the hospital with internal bleeding. Lots of broken bones, missing teeth, concussions, etc. over the years. One of our defencemen had a shoulder that would pop out the socket if he pulled on his skate laces too hard getting dressed. He never missed a game. Hockey in the 70's wasn't for for the feint of heart.
Milarchuk, Zednik and Heward. The first two took a skate to the throat. Heward took a skate across his face just below the eyes.
Borje Salming had his face stepped on by a skate, took over 250 stiches to the face....
A few years ago, one of my daughter’s coaches got a few teeth knocked out the night before in a game. He crazy glued them back in and came to 6am practice at the rink with my daughter.
Damn that’s beast mentality right there haha !
Basketball players are the second biggest drama babies behind soccer players
Yeah I play hockey and we have to fight through the pain all the time
They forgot Bergerons multiple broken ribs and punctured lung.
and Greg Campbell's broken leg
We(Boston fans) didn't find out about Bergie's injuries until after the finals.
Any game that you can't play because of a hangnail or blister doesn't count ad a sport. When i played hockey, can't anymore because of health issues that could be very deadly on the ice, if you didn't have blisters at the end of the game it meant your skates were not tight enough
Super late but as a canadian I love to see hockey reactions. The red wings just blocked like 9 shots in 20 seconds and it was just painful to watch.
Unlike soccer, a hockey player can go in the locker room, get stitches and then come out and play some more
Yepp that’s true !
But still, a footballer plays injured, and a hockey player acts like hes not injured.
Worst injury I saw was back in the late 80's I believe. Goaltender Clint Malarchuck ( probably misspelled). Got his throat slit bt a skate blade. Near death experience. Hard to watch
Yea I’ve seen that one, I think it’s one of the most seen injuries in hockey. It’s soo scary !
Yep that's the worst thing I ever saw
professional hockey players are warriors 😎👍🏒
They truly are !
@@ibrahimwattar7216 in NHL , in the NHL, they play 7 preseason game games, they play 82 season games, and in the playoffs, those who make it to the Stanley Cup final series, can play up to a maximum of 28 games. . NFL = 16 games. and a maximum of 4 playoff games .. hockey players are really tough. P.S. you have a new subscriber 😎👍🏒
Yea basketball is similar in that way to hockey as well, the season is long and brutal ! And thanks for subscribing, I really appreciate it 😊
@@ibrahimwattar7216 good week-end to you 😎👍
you're math as well as you're English are spot on!!! I always wished I could learn another language fluently.
Context for the clip at 10:30
Shae Weber (red team's #6, who's firing the laser beams) is currently rated the hardest slapshot in the league, at a whopping 107mph (approx 178kmh)
And erikkson ek (the white and green team's defender) just blocked 3 of those in a row
just a heads up. Chara (108mph) and Frk (109.2mph) have harder slapshots, but Shea is still a beast.
@@acobb7961 Frk was placed on waivers this morning because he's been injured since Feb. He's been at practice with the Kings. He's definitely still in the league.
Also, Chara is still rated higher and there is nothing saying he cant still slap it that hard.
Always makes me laugh when people are like, omg he lossed his teeth. Then if you ask a hockey player its almost like an honour that we lose teeth lol
Ya my mom had a 10k bill for 7 crowns. Except I was play 6 minutes a game in junior A. Not making millions....
Campbell finishing his shift with a broken leg
This video didn't follow up on the Chara injury, but he was actually playing with a broken jaw.
Bro, it hurts, trust me. Much respect to these guys.
It's not just these shots, but some of the shots are from some of the hardest shooters in the league. Ovi, and Shea Weber to name a couple....230 pound guys firing the puck. Weber almost always wins hardest shot in the skills competition when he takes part. There's also one not on here where a guy named Matt Calvert gets hit in the face with the puck and comes back with an incredible result. You should check it out if u haven't already.
Back in the day Weber wasn’t allowed to take slap shots in practice, hurting too many teammates
Id rather just be shot by a gun than block a Weber shot.....Pretty sure Al Maclnnis put one through the boards during warm up once...
Shae weber's fastest recorded slapshot, at the moment, was 107.6mph
For perspective on how fast that is
Serena Williams fastest serve in her career, if im not mistaken, was 113mph
Alex Rodriguez's fastest fast ball, afaik, was 100.3mph
Thats the range of speed we're talking about
A Russian hockey player just recently passed away after taking a puck to the head. Rip Timur
yea I just saw that on RUclips. Such a tragedy, RIP Timur
Definitely look at an NHL mic’ up. They are hilarious.
I think you’d like the US vs Russia shootout from Sochi and the women’s US vs Canada 2018 Olympic shootout.
Awesome ! Thanks for the suggestions 😊
Why watch two loser teams in Sochi Olympics?
Canada won the Gold again💪!
@@laurabuie3224 yep, I definitely know who won :( Let me start off by saying I think it’s ridiculous for games of that level being decided by a shootout.
The Sochi shootout was one of those times in the US,when suddenly everyone tuned in, many knowing little about hockey. It also produced TJ Sochi (Oshie).
Basically, it was entertaining and hair pulling out stressful to watch, and hockey became mainstreamed, if only for a while.
Just a really good entertaining shootout, even though it wasn’t a medal game.
Fun fact about chara there...he actually broke his jaw..
The blade to the face acually happend in the 2019 2020 season in a Montréal game u can look it up if u want too
Clint Malarchuk. That's all I need to say
Hockey players are the toughest bunch. Theres no out of bounds to step out of.
About game winning goals in hockey after getting hit?
Paul Kariya.
Hockey fans know.
Awesome ! I’ll add him to my list
@@ibrahimwattar7216 So it's Stanley Cup final 2003. Scott Stevens hit on Paul Kariya.
I believed that he was dead after the check.
I remember getting a slap shot between the eyes and had two black eyes through Christmas vacation
Ohh wowww
@@ibrahimwattar7216 I got one in the ear, it pretty much exploded.
Oh wowwww ! man that’s tough
They allow contact in bantam AA here. So some 13 year olds are getting mashed into the boards and breaking arms and playing right through it. Finish your shift ig😂
and now let's compare to the average soccer player being "hurt".......hahahaha//all the best
welcome to hockey
On chara taking the puck to the mouth and coming back with what they call a "fishbowl" next game that they were in boston, they were doing the roll call for the players and it was the loudest the home fans have ever been when chara's name was announced because everyone knew how much suffering he was in but he kept going because it's the cup on the line. unfortunately he's no longer on the bruins (went to the washington capitals because the bruins didn't have enough to keep him and others) but he's forever a bruin.
ruclips.net/video/q6unB8NegPI/видео.html
even as a caps fan I prefered him being in Boston, he just fitted better... but I'm obv not complaining lol
btw marchands a rat
@@janbellemann5691 Yeah but he's our rat. It's just that every so often he'll revert from that good hockey player to a caveman. needs to cut the shit.
@@slicked9778 Agreed. I think he can actually play really good, it's just the problem that he doesn't. Wilson is the same
@@janbellemann5691 Yah, wilson is talented as fuck which makes it even more frustrating when he steps over that line. Like dude you don't need to do that, just play the game right and you'll do fine.
In hockey, there is a difference between hurt and injured. That is just hockey.
There's also some legends this video doesn't touch because they aren't visual. Bergeron played through a broken leg, and Yzerman played through a herniated disk in his back, and a broken leg...without painkillers, full shifts.
Oh they did include yzerman oops
Keep them coming. Thankyou
We call that “Spitting Chiclets”. Spit your teeth on the ice and keep playing.
I got a frozen puck on the knee without any pads or anything, I felt like throwing up because it hurts so bad lmao
You know that it hurt when you go cold.
I took a puck off of the inside thigh (slapshot from my own defenseman while I was screening the goalie - lifting leg). My whole leg went numb.
@@rich7447 new objective: play the rest of shift without dying- then walking it off is the worst right when you start
got one to my upper cheek when i was younger,, was lucky that it was a shot done by a 12yo so wasnt that hard but wasnt too far for me to lose my eye, still have a scar in the cheek. also passed out in the moment ( i wasnt playing btw, just skating around in a public outdoor ice rink)
@@rich7447 yeah had the same happen as a right defenseman on a PK in our zone on a blocked slapshot from the point. Fell down & didnt get up for a minute or two where the ref finally blew the play dead. Trainer came out to get me back to the bench & sat a shift. Finished the game to win.
I hope you’ve checked out some all star hardest shots so you have a good understanding of how shot some players can shoot, especially most defensemen who shoot have cannons of a shot. Lots of players can shoot 90-100+ MPH
Gleason was one of the most underrated defensemen of the 21st century. Absolute ox
these guys do get some of the best trainers and medical help that they can getting hurt like they do it helps you get back out there if you think you can
Kris letang broke his nose and scored the ot game winner a few years back
Didn't he also have a stroke a while back? Came back and was still as dominate as he was before. Dude is a beast.
Didnt Forsberg play with a ruptured spleen and they found out after the game?
Yes, he did.
Basketball: Lebron James is carried off the court because his foot hurts...
Hockey: Rich Peverly DIES on the bench, literally DEAD... paramedics revive him and he asks to be put back in the game
End of discussion of which is the better athletes
Hockey players are just different, in a good ways
I can tell you that hockey refs are also built different, I worked a game and got hit in the chest by the puck and I continued to ref
Fr the refs be taking punches to break up fights, crazy
I have 3 stiches above my eye from a puck and also got a skate blade across my nose (we did not have visors od cages when I was a kid) for which I got a tripping penalty lol.
On 2 occasions players have had their carotid artery sliced because of flying skates. They might have died but for emergency response by the trainors.
If you go all the way too santley cup it's Oct too June
To give an idea how painful a nhl slapshot is
The average nhl slapshot is around 97mph
The average mlb fast ball is 96mph
The fastest ever recorded slapshot was 107.6mph
The fastest ever recorded baseball was 100.3mph
A hockey puck and a baseball have about the same weight, size and density
Now the million dollar question : how much would i have to pay you for you to willingly get hit by a fast ball, thrown by alex rodriguez in his prime?
Id actually have to pay you slightly more for you to get willingly hit by a shea weber or zdeno chara slapshot
Haha I would need to get paid a minimum of a millions dollars for that to happen for sure
Puck is also frozen before the game so it doesn't bounce around, it's harder than a baseball.
Frk has a slapper of 109.2 mph. Harder than Chara or Weber. The man deserves his credit. lol
@@apexxy11 Lol, I kinda miss Frk and his shots while he was with Det. Only problem for him was accuracy though, the number of wild 100+ mph shots was crazy.
@@jennifer714714 I know right. I miss being able to say "what the frk, Frk" on a regular basis. Lol
You need to react to Conner Mcdavid highlights, he is the best player in the world.
I actually did a reaction to Connor McDavid a while back, definitely check it out 😊
Yep! Hockey players can play through pretty much anything...check this out: Players who played through injuries in the Stanley Cup playoffs: ruclips.net/video/JVTUsdSg6Do/видео.html
and Bobby Baun, who played with a fractured ankle, and scored the winning goal in a playoff game: ruclips.net/video/Ex_TeMhF2XU/видео.html
All the best to you and yours!
Thanks for the video links ! Appreciate it greatly 😊
You had to bring up Bobby Baun, damn you. ;-) I'm a Red Wings fan old enough to remember that game.
This is the reason
I can't mess with soccer
NBA was fierce back in the 80s and 90s. It is soccer-like today. I can't watch it anymore.
Got a couple falsies myself. Took a teammate's stick to the mouth.
Chara broke his jaw on that play came out and finished the game broken jaw and all. None of that sissy whining like a basketball player
Wear a mask AFTER you get injured. That's like shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted.
I don't understand your point. Why would you wear a mask before you get injured?
@@gordd7348he said “after”
One I remember was Cam Neely getting split open after taking a puck to the face. He gets stitched up, comes back for the second period and busted his stitches after a fight.
Can you please react to tj oshie olympic penalty shootout
Btw ive taken a puck to the chin , its not fun
I think I reacted to that one a while back if I’m not mistaken
No problem aha how about partick kane stick handleing thru pucks
Theres a few blackhawks that do it
He kinda looks like Chara
Dont look at Clint Malarchuck clips on RUclips.
Meanwhile, the "great" LeBron James gets physically carried off the basketball court because of a cramp. My wife gets worse cramps, and she doesn't need to be carried anywhere. NBA players are rather weak.
Black conservatives go through the same thing.
I once fractured my skull by getting hit from behind during the first period. I only missed one shift during that game. (Nowadays it wouldn’t happen, but it was in the late ‘90 or early 2000s).
Almost got me :D
