Hands down, the best player in the NHL today. He is what they call a generational talent. One of the 10 greatest players of all time. I’m an Islander’s fan, but I watch as many Oiler games as I can to watch McDavid. I used to do that with Gretzky. McDavid’s talent level is insane. Speed is top 5 all time, hands are insane, Hockey IQ is 99 out of 100. If you’re a hockey fan, he is a joy to watch.
I think he's the fastest player ever. And if he's not noone except maybe Sergei federov could be good at this speed. You just don't see the best hockey player in generations be this fast and good all around. I'm a buffalo fan. I've scene alot of super fast players. N I've seen a ton of the best players like you. He's the most skilled player of all time, its not even close. I'm an old head, Mario, Gretzky and Forsberg are my guys, "the league is soft now" etc etc, but I cant deny it any longer, McDavid is just different.
@paranormalskeptic3893 I had a conversation with a friend of mine the other day, looked me straight in the face and told me that because he hasn’t won a Stanley Cup, he isn’t a generational talent lmao
@@gidorah Sadly, that's never going to happen. Between McD and Dreisetl, Oilers don't have enough cap $$$ to sign a Hall of Famer in the making like Bedard. Especially, since they need to dedicate A LOT of that cap to tighten up the D and goaltending, which has been lacking to say the very least this year. It'd be very spectacular (just watch Ovi and Murphy in this year's all stars), but realistically not possible.
The comparison to Messi is definitely valid, they're both insane generational talents and one of a kind players. As a Canadian who grew up with hockey it was fun to watch your reaction!
His decision making and ability to read the ice and his opposition at such a high speed is something we’ve never seen before. Greatest hockey player I’ve ever seen with my own eyes.
You really nailed it mentioning his action at such speed. His mind is 100% keeping track of what's going on, when a normal guy can barely register some of it at all. He's seeing everything and seeing it milliseconds before we can.
By far, he’s the absolute best player in the league. He makes it look SO easy. Amazing speed and amazing ‘hands’ and the ability to control the puck at high speed. He truly is generational and we’re lucky to watch him. As a hockey fan for over 50 years, it’s mind-blowing just how good he really is. Thanks so much for this vid!!!!!
I've watched and followed hockey my entire life now... I think I take it for granted how amazing and skilled the players are sometimes. I love videos like this, it gives me the opportunity to see the game through fresh eyes, it reminds me what it was like to be a kid and to view the game with amazement and wonder. Connor McDavid plays for my hometown team, the Edmonton Oilers. That last goal I watched as it happened on TV. That has got to be one of the most unbelievable goals ever. He's considered a generational talent. This season, he could score up to 70 goals and 150 points, neither number has been seen since the 1990s. His skill and speed are incredible.
The whole sequence leading up to that goal was wild. Waiting for the boys to leave the zone cause they had been useless on that shift up to that point, waiting, waiting, waiting for them to clear the zone, and then angry Connor deciding to do it all himself. Lol, me reading this comment today knowing he hit 153 points, and 64 goals. Can't wait for the playoffs to start!!! -fellow yeg born Oilers fan. 🧡💙 Ps, Mert; Connor is the 6th player to hit 150 points in a season. It's a big feat.
Conner McDavid's speed, skill, hand eye coordination, with no time and space under pressure is unbelievable...so glad we have him to watch...just wish he was Caption of my team
You're bang on about McDavid man. Yes, he's absolutely rapid, but what truly sets him apart is his ability to maneuver in tight spaces and control the puck at top speed. Unreal player and still in his prime
The goal at 6:40 is even more impressive because Victor Hedman, 77 on Tampa Bay, is the best defensive defenseman in the NHL. It's cool seeing you react to this, and your ability to pick up on why plays are impressive for a newbie is impressive. But what makes McDavid so amazing are mainly 2 things: 1) His unbelievable skating and speed 2) his ability to maneuver with control in tight spaces with both stickhandling and skating edge work
I’ve been watching hockey my whole life and mcdavid is by far the best player I think we will see in our lifetimes. His speed, puck handling and IQ are leagues above everyone else. Also check out some Patrick Kane highlights if u wanna see some great puck handling and clutch performances
Fun fact about the 2nd to last goal, the reason the commentator says “Welcome Back” is because that was Mcdavid’s FIRST GAME BACK after breaking his collar bone and missing 8+ weeks… in his rookie (first ever NHL) season!
I enjoyed this reaction because even though you have had no previous experience with hockey, you were able to pick up on every aspect of his game that puts him above the rest. His speed and shiftiness are what make him so dangerous at any given moment he’s out on the ice.
As an edmontonian we cherish the fact we get to see this every night. It’s absolutely ridiculous what he does every single night. Most of the league doesn’t get to see the stuff that doesn’t make the highlights but for every highlight goal there’s 10 highlight plays just as good as those goals that never make sportscenter. He’s 110% worth the price of admission for any fan who wants to see him while the oilers are on the road in their barn
Gotta say, for someone who doesn't watch hockey you recognize the nuances of the game well. Many newbies can't follow the puck, let alone when Connor has it. Great video. Good job mate.
I live in Buffalo, NY, and McDavid played in Erie PA, about a 1.5 hour drive, when he was 15-17 years old. I would drive down to Erie and watch him do this stuff at that young age, he is incredible and hands down the best player in the NHL today.
As a Flyers fan, with our worthless mgmt, it is just so great to watch Connor play. He is just so amazing and talented. Truly a generational talent and he just blows my mind with his speed. Let’s go Oilers!
The Oilers management is pretty worthless too. The tragedy of McDavid's career is that by the bad luck of the draft lotto he is stuck playing with an organization that isn't worthy of his ability. If he plays his whole career in Edmonton, he'll probably never win a championship.
What a great highlight reel. Where you commented that he stopped the puck right before scoring, yes, he forces the goalie to commit to the direction he seems to be going, and then puts the puck past the spot the goalie just vacated. Everyone tries to do that but McDavid? Insane ability. Nobody works harder than this guy at improving everything he does. Undisputed best in the world.
As a born and raised oilers fan (McDavids team). I must say I loved watching your reactions. I never miss a game and I’m happy to see others enjoy him as much as us hockey/oilers fans do. That said. I wanted to add some context to help you be even more amazed. They didn’t show in the video obvsly but that second last goal you watched was in his rookie season and first game back after missing 45 games with a collar bone break. Extremely impressive he did that. And the very last goal, he accidentally went offside and skated in the neutral zone waiting for his teammates to get onside before he took off and burnt the entire opposing team before scoring.
McDavid's play does have a real prime Messi vibe to it, as someone who follows and has played both sports. Both of them have that sense of operating in a different time dimension, as if everyone else is moving and thinking a step behind. You have to remember that these guys sprawling in his wake are some of the best defensive players in the world.
The only true test that we will never see is how he would have matched up to the brutal 90's style of hockey. Big hits, bone crushing defensemen. Much different game today that preserves the type of skill McDavid possesses. Pavel Bure is the closest comparable to being as skilled as he was before suffering knee injuries.
I think Messi is a good comparison for control but I think McDavid had a gear that Messi does not have. He has a Maradona gear when he decides to go. I think Messi is now the best footballer ever, But Maradona could create chaos in his prime
No, that's incorrect. Everyone knows Gretzky's many records have stood for about 35 40 years ...but spend a little time looking at the numbers of the second-place guy behind him in each category. It's absolutely mind-blowing how far head of everyone, everywhere Gretz was. Connor is unbelievable comparted to everyone in hockey history except for Gretzky. And both of them played for my team - while I was watching. Oh yeah. Good life here.
@JaredTBo I see your point. But Gretzky was winning scoring races by 70 points if not more. So Gretzky was beyond dominant for a guy who was built like a girl.
Gretzky deserves the eternal respect for what he was in his time but to say that putting Connor McDavid in 80’s with his physical skill set wouldn’t look like a grown man playing TimBits hockey is ridiculous
@@alexsavage-tubbs437 No, no. You can't compare these players in their different eras, of course. That's not what I was saying. I replying to a specific proposal, which was....just read it.
It's nice that someone who doesn't know hockey can appreciate this. Once you know hockey you only appreciate it more. Much of what he does is impossible for most. There are little aspects to his dekes. The head fake,a misstep, firing off step, going through the tight space. You can check out Connor Bedard. Yeah, another Connor. He's not in the NHL yet, but he has absolutely insane skill and the same kind of potential.
I’m from Edmonton, which is McDavid’s team. One thing that isn’t often talked about when people watch these videos, especially as a new fan: Since substitutes (changes/line changes as they’re called in hockey) happen every minute or two, and without stoppage in play, they’re a huge part of a coaches game plan. They will match their best defensive players against the opponents best offensive players to the best of their abilities. So not only is McDavid the best player in the league by a very large margin, he’s scoring these highlight reel goals (and assists) against some of the best defenders in the league.
Connor is the best hockey player in the world. I live in Edmonton, and see him regularly and I still get blown away by his talent. It’s like you can’t believe your eyes, even at super slow-mo you can’t believe what you just saw. I almost feel bad for the opposing goalies, almost.
Mert was so low key matter-of-fact on the third clip starting @ 1:39. Yet this was an absolute insane show of speed, reflexes and timing. To be able to first tip the puck, then catch his own rebound while STILL at full speed AND on one foot AND in mid air?!? Damn! It all happens in a blink too, which is downright astonishing!
This was fantastic to watch. Even as someone who knows nothing about NHL/Ice Hockey, I can tell he is a magnificent player. Is the best player in the league at the moment?
Yes. Fastest skater in the sport (maybe even in NHL history), great stick control, and goal scoring like you wouldn't believe. He currently has 41 goals in 50 games which is absolutely insane if you know hockey at all. Second closest person only has 36, and even he is being talked about like he's a legend and he's on a much better team.
He is known to Oiler fans as "McJesus" and clearly his speed, puck control and anticipation are the best in the league by a wide margin. I recommend watching Cale Makar highlights for current defenders who are above average.
You are spot on with all your comments. He is by far the top offensive star in the NHL of this generation and the equivalent of the soccer players you've mentioned. His skating and stick handling is unparalleled. I would suggest you look for some top 10 goalie saves of the week or the year from the NHL channels. It's not all scoring because some of those goalies are great.
He should be talked about on a nightly basis. The things Connor can do compared to the rest of the league is almost unfathomable. He’s head and shoulders the best hockey player on earth and has been for about 5 years now.
just an interesting bit of info here, the goal at the 9:00 minute mark of the video was from his rookie season. he was 19 years old and that game was his first game back after missing 37 games with a broken collarbone
Your observation and ability to follow the play is actually impressive and i would say above average! During the video you comment about mechanics most people cant see because of how fast the game is, so credit to you sir! For someone not having seen or know much about the sport, It was fun to watch you dissect stuff haha
i moved to canada from the uk 18yrs ago. hes the best player ive seen since ive been here and theres been some gooduns. hes so quick. his footwork is incredible. he must have crazy leg and core strength
Conner Mcdavid is the best player right now but You should react to Wayne Gretzky. He is the Messi and Ronaldo of ice hockey. Even if he never scored a goal he would still have the most points of all time just from assists.
I know a lot of people are going to be recommending players to look at now that you've seen McDavid, but I really think you would enjoy Pavel Datsyuk. Didn't have the goal scoring ability that McDavid does, but he could do things with the puck that would blow your mind.
McDavid currently is the 4th ranked points per game player in hockey history. The only players higher on that list played in the 80s when goal scoring was significantly higher league wide. This man is a talent level of his own. The best skater ever to play the game, not only is he elite skater but his head and hands can actually keep up. Elite processor, elite passing, elite hands, elite feet. The most advanced player to ever touch a sheet of ice. Best comparison across sports is Messi. His numbers last playoffs and this regular season are absolutely bonkers. He is breaking the game.
It really is the speed of thought and reaction that sets him apart - the best way to describe it is that he is playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers....
Great video. Just stumbled upon your hockey videos, and they are really fun to watch (as someone who grew up with hockey here in Michigan). I'd suggest watching a Pavel Datsyuk video. Just a phenomenally talented player, way ahead of his team that was hugely influential on this next generation of players (like McDavid). Keep up the videos!
There are players that have similar elements to their game but none that combine the speed, the vision, the hands, the shot, the skating, and most importantly the playmaking creativity and offensive awareness and confidence to pull of these moves let alone attempt then at this level of competition. I would say other than his speed his signature is the way he's able to find a lane to the net and use his speed and puck protection and strength on the puck to get around defenders or go through to defenders and then use his quick release to deceive the goalie on where he going to shoot and just how quickly he's able to elevate the puck over them in an instant. This year he has turned up his goal scoring ability to a new level, with a shoot first instead of pass first mentality. He's able to shoot the puck through the goalies legs so quickly and deceptively with such a high rate of success this year.
What makes him special is not only his speed, which he is very fast in a straight line but there are a few players that are almost as fast if not equal in that straight line speed, where Connor is a freak is in the lateral movement and hand speed and puck control WHILE still moving very fast in forward direction. He is a freak athlete in that regard. I think his brain just processes things at a faster rate than the average pro hockey player. Even the elite players can not maintain and execute that level of control while moving that fast.
You were asking about Connor Mcdavid’s trademark about the 3 and a half minute mark… his trademark is somehow skating through 3 or 4 or even 5 guys like they’re standing still and scoring and then giving the smallest smile like he expected to do it and would’ve been mad if he didn’t make it through the entire team and score
This is my first video that I’ve watched, and I got to say I am subscribing right now! It is really interesting when other people who don’t know hockey take time to watch, observe and try it for themselves. Love the reactions and the commentary from someone who does not have prior knowledge. Keep up the great work! 😀🏒
The more impressive part about the one tip play, is that you can't touch the puck with your stick if its above the cross bar (top bar in the goal). So he waited until the puck dropped below the bar to tip it over the goalie
The one goal where Connor had the puck way back in his stance and you said his body was going forward but the puck was kept back then you will love the toe drag move. There is a “toe drag goals but they get increasingly more impressive” video if you ever want to check it out.
React to Alex Ovechkin best hits and goals (updated). He’s currently 2nd all time in goals and closing in on first, and he is a human highlight reel. A really unique part of him is that he plays an incredibly physical and aggressive brand of hockey for a goal scorer, absolute generational player and first ballot hall of fame when he retires
Right now, McDavid is the Goat, he has 92 points with 41 goals in 50 games, the next closest player is his teammate Leon Draistle who has 76 points and after that there are two guys at 72 points. There are 82 games in a season and he may have the most points since Lemiux if he can keep going
I’d recommend watching Andrei Vasilevskiy highlights after this to get a perspective on the best goaltender in the world after watching the best player in the world in McDavid
Some players can do it, but not as often as he does. This is just him playing anytime, he's very constant. He's a "1 of a kind in a generation" type of star.
He is definitely Messi on the ice. Ronaldo would be Alexander Ovechkin- he will probably set the NHL record for goals in the next year years- he's over 800 and he needs 895
Connor reminds me of Bobby Orr,Bobby had the same speed but with a “ lazy “ skating style,he didn’t look like he was exerting himself at all.Bobby changed the game,Connor has perfected it.Connor is an amazing player.
Highly recommend checking out Alex Ovechkin. The guy protects his teammates (especially the rookies) and never backs down from a fight. He's also got a disgusting shot. Super fun to watch, for sure.
@@mrdooman Gretzky has come and said Gordie Howe is the best Hockey player of All time …. Many of times….. not saying he didn’t say 97 is bad ass, but he has talked about Gordie many of times
Hockey is 3, 20 minute periods followed by sudden death overtime if necessary. I recommend you check out Trevor Zegras, Dominic Hasek, Carey Price, Wayne "The Great One " Gretzky, Martin Broduer, Alexander Ovechkin... Paul Kariya's "off the floor and on the board" moment is iconic. He was hit in the head and knocked out and then five minutes later scored in the playoffs.
Austin Mathews, a kid who grew up in the Arizona desert is equally talented and one of the few US born players to ever win the Rocket Richard Trophy for most goals in a season. They are both elite athletes and keep watching, there are many others too. Try checking out the NHL plays of the week, you will become a fan too.
Auston Matthews is not even a top ten player in the NHL. Mitch Marner is easily their player. He had a good season and was handed the Hart trophy. He is one and done
Not too long ago (retired defenceman) Kevin Bieksa was asked “when you see Connor McDavid winding it up (picking up speed) at the other end of the ice, what are you thinking?” Bieksa’s response: “Line change.”
You have a great eye for what makes McDavid great: speed with the puck, stick-handling speed, speed at processing the game, ability to turn. One thing I’ll add: his ability to elevate the puck in very tight spaces. The Messi comparison is perfect. I’ve been watching hockey for 40 years, McDavid can only be compared to the greatest all-time players like Lemieux and Gretzky. Just hope the Oilers can build a team where he can win a Cup.
There are a lot of great players in the NHL. What makes him the absolute best is that he can do everything at top speed especially stick handle in traffic. Almost every other player goes slower when in possession of the puck and stick handling. The guy is an absolute magician on ice. The Great One Gretzky even says McDavid is a better player then he ever was. Only 26 in his 8th season 280 goals 509 assists for 789 points. I don’t think he will beat Gretzky’s records, but he will come close against better competition and better goal tending then Gretzky faced. Just needs to win a couple of Cups and with his scoring abilities he is a no doubt Hall of Famer! He has another 8-10 years of great hockey left and then Father Time will catch him and will not have that speed advantage he dominates with now granted if he has no major injuries. Regardless it’s an absolute joy to watch him play and is extremely humble. I’m a Flyers fan, but watch every Oilers game I can to watch him play. One of the very few players in any sport that have met the hype and actually have been better! He definitely put in the work from a young age 7-8 y/os training 4-6 hrs a day until 15 when he signed in the CHL to play for the Erie Otters. Drafted #1 overall in 2015 and was robbed of the Calder Trophy by my Flyers when he broke his collar bone on a cheap shot by Manning, but still had a great season that year only plating 45 of the 82 games with 16 goals 32 assists for 48 pts. Hope for Edmonton he spends his entire career there, and upon retirement they put his number in the rafters. Love to see him come to Philly though!
Yeah. He's the best guy currently. Extremely fast skater who has all the other skills to go with it (quick decision making, stick handling, accurate shooting, awareness, passing...). You also noticed Draisaitl (29), who is also one of the best players in the league, and the two work extremely well together.
Check out Alex Ovechkin best hits and goals updated Currently is set in number to most goals in NHL history . Also owns several other records, such as most 50+ gold seasons, most power-play goals and so on
Zdeno Chara, the tallest nhl player. (reacted to one of his fights) Captain defenceman for the Bruins. Played 24 years with 4 teams. Won the Stanley cup with the Bruins in 2011
Good analysis. He’s got that tight space puck handling of Messi and he has the explosive speed all the way down the ice while controlling the puck of a young Ronaldo.
Some players to check out 1) Sidney Crosby 2) Nikita Kucherov 3) David Pastrnak 4) Connor Bedard (not in NHL yet, will go 1st overall in draft this year) 5) Brad Marchand 6) Cale Makar 7) Mario Lemiuex (retired, 2nd greatest player of all time) 8) Artemi Panarin 9) Tage Thompson 10) Jack Eichel
Connor McDavid is without a doubt the best player that has been in the NHL int he last 20 years. Sports programs should be talking about him every night he plays. Instead we have to hear ESPN talking about Lebron, Brady, Rodgers every day. He is the most dominant player in sports today- playing the hardest sport there is on the planet.
Conor McDavid is the top player in all stats today by a long shot. He is also the latest in a long line of great players starting with the Great One Wayne Gretzky. Then Sidney Crosby. The latest to join the group is Conor Bedard. There are a lot great players across the league but Conor McDavid is in a league of his own. Also happens to be on the team I support.
I’m a goalie in hockey but I was in a game where one of my teammates hit another guy… he was out cold, the ambulance came, he didn’t know who he was where he was or who his mom was
Definitely like the Messi of hockey, so fast and agile and capable, an unreal talent. He also won the Fastest Skater at the NHL AllStar Game Skills Competitions a few times - he did a complete lap of the rink (from a standing start) in just over 13 seconds. Yeah... FAST.
McDavid vs. Crosby, Battle of Gods.....it's a great video...Crosby is in his waning years, while McDavid is in his prime....Crosby has all the accolades, despite missing a few years in his prime due to injury, but he might be the most complete player in the game ever, the most skilled grinder......McDavid is all speed, skill and offense
McDavid is amazing. Another young player you should check out is Tage Thompson on the Sabres. Some older players with tons of footage would be Ovechkin and Crosby. And of course, you can always watch the GOAT Wayne Gretzky.
McDavid is the best bar none. I understand you don't watch ice hockey but take the sport in. This was a highlight reel. How ever if you watch ice hockey you will find it faster paced/ exciting to watch more so than any other broadcasted sport.......spectator sport to the max
McDavid is probably the top #3 hockey player ever played the game. The combination of insane speed and stick handling is out of this world. He is like Messi in Football.
Some players can do the things he does, but no one comes even close to doing it at his skill level or speed. I saw Pavel Bure live @ the PNE and it amazed me how fast he was compared to eveyone else, but McDavid's just next level
McDavid has been the best player in the NHL for a while now, and is well on his way to being considered one of the all time greats. He's a once in a generation talent. However, Messi and Ronaldo have both won numerous trophies/championships, while McDavid has not...yet. Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux are probably the closest comparisons to Messi and Ronaldo. Both dominated hockey in the 80s and 90s, and both won multiple championships.
Other players can stick handle very well, but none are as good as it while going full speed like McDavid does. He's always been very talented and he trains like a maniac. I watched a video about him even doing drills specially designed to overload his brain/body with tasks to help his mind get better at doing everything at full speed. Like a lot of people can sprint fast, but how many can sprint full speed while texting
He's above everyone else. When it comes to hockey he's been the unanimous number one for years now. It's nothing like football where people tried to compare Ronaldo to Messi. If you compare anyone to McDavid you just get laughed out of the room.
I've been an Edmonton Oilers fan since 1981, and grew up watching Gretzky play. Connor is possibly more exciting. Kinda like a hockey leprechaun, with super hockey powers.

You forgot his ability to always appear to be reading plays before they happen. His hockey IQ is through the roof.
I'm a life long Edmonton Oilers fan and it's been a pleasure watching Connor every game. There is nothing this guy can't do
I’ve been watching hockey my whole life and mcdavid is by far the best player I think we will see in our lifetimes. His speed, puck handling and IQ are leagues above everyone else. Also check out some Patrick Kane highlights if u wanna see some great puck handling and clutch performances
I like Pavel Datsyuk
Fun fact about the 2nd to last goal, the reason the commentator says “Welcome Back” is because that was Mcdavid’s FIRST GAME BACK after breaking his collar bone and missing 8+ weeks… in his rookie (first ever NHL) season!
I enjoyed this reaction because even though you have had no previous experience with hockey, you were able to pick up on every aspect of his game that puts him above the rest. His speed and shiftiness are what make him so dangerous at any given moment he’s out on the ice.
The nhl has never seen a player as talented and skilled as Mcdavid. He’s easily the most talented player ever
Ever! -San Jose sharks fan
@@nathanpaul88 That's the definition of franchise player. It's not only the game and winning but everything related to the team.
@@nathanpaul88 Glad I get to watch him play my Habs live next weekend on the 12th, it'll be a sight.
Honestly it's even more amazing Oilers are only 12th considering the work McJesus and Draisaitl are putting in
Just went and watched a couple clips of Pavel Datsyuk, and he is without a doubt one of the greatest skaters in nhl history
Also great defensively which you don't see in the highlights. Most underrated player in NHL history.
was definitely going to suggest him to watch some Datsyuk vids.
EDIT: 13 likes, no one else touch it!
He had the best hands out of anyone ive ever seen. Before mcdavid, id say maybe patrick kane was close, but still Datsyuk was the best.
@@ovechkin100 Yeah Datsyuk is one of my favorites ever. Among the greatest 2way forwards of all time.
I dont know much about Messi but there has never been a NHL player like McDavid.
@@kaspian911 Let me tell you about a guy named Wayne Gretzky...
@@lukerice885 Gretzky was great, probably the greatest ever, but he was not a player like McDavid, very different style.
You won't find anyone else like this. Any player, any Era. We're lucky to witness this greatness
@@rakitoon yeah and when Gretzky played goalies stacked the pads and no one could lift the puck, big difference
PAVEL DATSYUK Dangles! Magic hands. He was fun to watch!!
One thing that isn’t often talked about when people watch these videos, especially as a new fan:
Since substitutes (changes/line changes as they’re called in hockey) happen every minute or two, and without stoppage in play, they’re a huge part of a coaches game plan.
Is the best player in the league at the moment?
undisputed best player in the world right now
@@rexmcdowd *38 🙂
@@Tery_Bruins_Drai29 huh. My bad. Thought Pasta only had 36 for some reason. The point still stands though
@@rexmcdowd and I 100% agree
Actually 6 years but I appreciate the comment
@@tomlarnie2581 k
just an interesting bit of info here, the goal at the 9:00 minute mark of the video was from his rookie season. he was 19 years old and that game was his first game back after missing 37 games with a broken collarbone
Your observation and ability to follow the play is actually impressive and i would say above average! During the video you comment about mechanics most people cant see because of how fast the game is, so credit to you sir! For someone not having seen or know much about the sport, It was fun to watch you dissect stuff haha
Fantastic to see your reactions as a non-hockey fan! Well done.
i moved to canada from the uk 18yrs ago. hes the best player ive seen since ive been here and theres been some gooduns. hes so quick. his footwork is incredible. he must have crazy leg and core strength
Conner Mcdavid is the best player right now but You should react to Wayne Gretzky. He is the Messi and Ronaldo of ice hockey. Even if he never scored a goal he would still have the most points of all time just from assists.
his highlights arent really that entertaining
@@gavin5402 I mean he should watch a video on him like the one that’s up on the NHL channel
9:00 That was in his rookie season. His first game and first goal after missing 40 games due to a shoulder injury
Awesome reactions! Love from Canada. My favorite stickhandler to watch is Pavel Datsyuk. Have a Great Day everyone. :)
As a Canucks fan I get to see Conner play a lot. This video makes me realise I've gotten to the point I take seeing him play for granted
Oh yeah. Beastly player! Hate him when he's playing my team, but love him when he's not. Lol
Retired now, you should look at a video of Pavel Datsuk or Pavel Bure. Pure goal scorers with some spectacular hilights.
Loving the hockey reactions, keep ‘em coming!
Even the Great One admits Connor is the best that has ever played the game. That says it all.
First time Gretzky has ever complimented anyone too.

Not too long ago (retired defenceman) Kevin Bieksa was asked “when you see Connor McDavid winding it up (picking up speed) at the other end of the ice, what are you thinking?”
Bieksa’s response: “Line change.”
You’ve got a new subscriber! From Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦
i’d say watch Datsyuk, Ovechkin, and Crosby next. you’ll get a pretty full spectrum of how you can be great in the NHL.
Lol watching Ovechkin after McDavid is gonna give him stylistic whiplash lol
Check out Alex Ovechkin best hits and goals updated

"He is an artist" best way to describe it dude
Good analysis. He’s got that tight space puck handling of Messi and he has the explosive speed all the way down the ice while controlling the puck of a young Ronaldo.

1) Sidney Crosby
2) Nikita Kucherov
3) David Pastrnak
4) Connor Bedard (not in NHL yet, will go 1st overall in draft this year)
5) Brad Marchand
6) Cale Makar
7) Mario Lemiuex (retired, 2nd greatest player of all time)
8) Artemi Panarin
9) Tage Thompson
10) Jack Eichel
Connor McDavid is without a doubt the best player that has been in the NHL int he last 20 years. Sports programs should be talking about him every night he plays. Instead we have to hear ESPN talking about Lebron, Brady, Rodgers every day. He is the most dominant player in sports today- playing the hardest sport there is on the planet.
Some legends I've seen some magical plays from: Gretzky. Lemieux. Jagr. Yzerman. Federov. Sakic. Forsberg. Crosby. Ovechkin. Kane. Toews. Selanne. Getzlaf. Mogilny. Bure. Datsyuk. Zetterberg. Sedin. Sedin. Iginla. St.Louis. Lecavalier...that's only forwards, no goalies or d-men.
Sindey Crosby would be a good one to react to or if you are looking for a goalie to react to Marc-Andre Fleury is my favorite
McDavid is INSANE!!! Next, check out Ovechkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Gretzky... more of the best.

Definitely like the Messi of hockey, so fast and agile and capable, an unreal talent. He also won the Fastest Skater at the NHL AllStar Game Skills Competitions a few times - he did a complete lap of the rink (from a standing start) in just over 13 seconds. Yeah... FAST.
To answer your question, yes, he is like the Messi of hockey. He's doing things at a level never seen before. Indeed like an artist.

Watch some of Pavel Datsyuk's goals as well. His hands were insanely good in tight spaces as well.
Connor is what the best hockey player in the NHL looks like. Some would say the best hockey player ever. There's nowhere to go but down from here.
There’s a reason we call him McJesus. It’s funny how we all have the same reaction when watching him: bewilderment at how good he is.
the great 8 - Alex Ovechkin, is a must watch player who does it all
McDavid was my favorite player when he was 13 from a video I watched. I knew instantly that he was the next one.
