1:43 oh the glamorous life of El Porto surfing... You never know when you're going to see a curl-shooting star...I think you just became part of the paparazzi, by shooting that one ... Does anyone else feel thirsty for a glass of Bacardi?
Hey brad! wondering if at any point you were at any point near tower 45, I thought I saw but was too scared to say hi. Love your videos man! keep it up!
Orewa beach in NZ is by far the closest and most beginner friendly beach to Auckland, our biggest city. On a public holiday in summer it is a hilarious place to surf, thousands of beginners all down the beach. A lot of fun, just have to be careful and dont expect any particularly good rides and have to be patient with everyone
That day I was at Haggerty’s. I paddled out to uppers, but that was a mistake even though I was the only one out. The kelp was so thick that my leash got caught and I literally bit my way through it with my teeth because I couldn’t rip it with my hands. Then I caught one wave, got like two turns in and paddled back in. I cut my hands and feet trying to walk back and put a decent ding in my board. I think I’ll stick to snorkeling at Malaga.
I caught 2 waves in a sea of people on the huntington pier one day it was pure magic seeing everyone respect my every turn on the wave and there was only visible water directly in front of the board somehow they all knew where i was going or they made a path for me
Nah, I wouldn't surf that. But these days most surf spots anywhere in the world get crowded whenever there is a half decent wave. The place I usually surf breaks right and left over a sandy reef bottom, and usually has less than 6 people, so I consider myself lucky. My teenage sons surf with me sometimes, but if the crowd is big I keep them out of the water. Too many nuts out there.
Would I paddle out...? Not a chance, don't even get in my car. Memorial Day for me is like sabath for Jews (I'm a vet). Besides the traffic is nuts, so I'd rather sit in the pool and wait for the "hon-yaks" to go home.
I don't know for sure about California; but by all appearances from the videos I've consumed, it is more of a shat show than even Florida, where we have been inundated with landlocked wannabes with equipment far too advanced for their ability they can't even sit on the surfboard or barely paddle out on a small day or keep up with the board. It has become so hazardous for the experienced surfer; it's in our best interest to sit on the beach and laugh at the entertainment, than to make any attempt at participation.
Hey come on man social get away from me.. six feet apart and where's your mask oh my gosh here we go again tell that dolphin to put his mask on too damn it.. Geez Louise
I screamed BRAD!!! When you drove thru the gate. You hollered back “yaaaaa”. Fun Day 😎🏄♀️

Thanks for catching me this day Brad!!!. Love the vlogs!
The whole week was gnarly for LA surf, so many damn people from Mailbu to El Porto
We have a left hander over here in New Zealand that also gets ridiculously crowded on public holidays 😅

I wouldn’t surf that, but I appreciate those who do have the patience and skill to surf it.
This looks like the average weekend in Huntington Beach North Pier with decent swell. Parking is crazy there too.

They don't respect you.
One time I surfed the north shore and all the locals offered to pay me so much money for surf lessons after seeing me do two backflips in the barrel
paddled out into prob 3x more crowded porto once, never again

Good point!
Way too many people in that line-up, but I used to live at Newport Beach right on the beach so maybe I'm spoiled.
Come to Japan in summer... This is nothing compared to that.
a typical day at Manly NSW on the week end
I got there at 6 and it was only good for 2 hours until the waves started to become mush
I’m glad to see myself on here
Funny thing is that if you walk 3-4 blocks down by roscranz theres no one there. Mb pier is another good spot but hasnt been lately.
Usually you're correct but this day was different. Crowded as far as I could see. Crazy.
And with a comment pointing that out…. The crowds will be showing up soon!
What's with people diving off their boards at the end of a ride? Porto's a beach break for cryin' out loud, not a shallow reef.
Youll never get this problem skimming
any beach in sydney for last year LOL
Haha yeah, in fact I did surf this
Hope you scored a few!
@@BradJacobson To my surprise, I actually managed to snag a few multi-turn rights 🤙🏼

Nobody should be wearing Steph or kelly's white suit unless they can stick a reverse or a turn at that 😂
That suit is so ugly 😆
