Yes Sir - it was our camper - you have done a great job rebuilding it (her). We toured North America with a Toyota BJ45 Camper back in 1989 - pls drop me a line
Lovely story there chap. It looks a bullet proof Toyota to me. Man, that engine bay was crisp as, some serious elbow grease had gone into that. Many many more fantastic miles left on that clock to be completed me thinks. Oh so very very cool.
Great video and great campervan. These Landcruiser 79s are probably the strongest no nonsense vehicle out there. They seem to make up 75% of all vehicles in parts of PNG, and in many rural Australian towns they're as common as a black cab in London.
Nice! I'm here in Aus with a 2007 VDJ79, 4.5L V8 Turbo Diesel with a custom-built, full tray sized, pop-up fibreglass slide-on camper. When we want to use the 79 as a Ute we just slide in the legs, wind-up the camper off the tray and then head off to play! Super tough vehicles. Not quite as slick as your fitout, but we love ours and it gets us into many places that other's can't. Cheers from OZ! PS - You're welcome to come down to do a vid of it, when the world is open again!
I live literally 3 minutes away from the Auto Port just outside Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where this gentleman would have had this beautiful machine shipped to. Very cool! You do see the occasional behemoth overland trucks come through the port but these are rare. I've always loved LandCruisers. I wish they were made as a standard vehicle at the Toyota dealerships here in Canada.
Really enjoyed the video and the truck. Thanks for taking the time to film and share this mate! Great to see how other people roll and what they do with their trucks! Keep em coming!
It's not an issue, the camera records at a certain frame per second and the video on screen displays as another, classic issue when filming a monitor : )
I’m in Australia, don’t think Matilda is around anymore but Sherwood Suncamper do the same thing on a Toyota Hilux base, exactly same inside, we also have Explorer Motorhome and Sunliner do very similar set up but not on Lamdcruiser
Really interesting story, told by a really interesting guy ! After all those journeys it would have been nice to hear what this vehicle has on the clock, .......I have the same engine in my 70 series with 360,000 kms on it, ........still going strong.
Nice! Just bought myself a HZJ78... this vid gives me some perspective ! Love to know the fuel consumption, though, mine is about 15liters for 100km so far, but the car is not fully loaded. Édit : I translated in imperial mileage : it’s about 15,5miles per gallon !
Hi Icitlali, I have just returned from a 3500klm quick run down through France and Spain. I have averaged 600klm to 80 litres of Diesle. so I am averaging 13.3lts per 100 klm. that is with a top speed of 90kph on mainly highways. With a combination of driving conditions in mountains and villages, lots of stop start and hills etc I average about 15 to 16 lts per 100. hope this helps
Escape Overland - Thanks a lot! Your results are consistent with mines... it’s means two reservoirs of 90l are fine as long as we are in the western world... but for Africa or northern Asia (Siberia or Mongolia) we may need bigger tanks.... don’t you think? My HZJ78 Is from 2012 and only has 42000 km.... I am in love with this car...took me 5 years finding it ;-)
@@icitlalistardust9060 I got my facts a bit wrong in the video. I have two 80ltr tanks giving 1200 klm range on my recent 3 week trip. so I actually get 750 miles from full to empty. you won't struggle with that range anywhere in the world to be honest.
Sorry I don’t invite strangers off the internet to my camps. You would be welcome to one of the big public meets when lockdowns are over and I can arrange a camp site.
Great truck! . I have to watch a video made in another country, on the other side of the planet about a truck bought and built in my own state and country. Awesome!
What a sexy beast. The only thing wich i dont like is the color but the rest is just awesome. Saving money myself now for a Bug out Vehicle and hope to do some meetings like you guys here in the Netherlands.
Ian - I wonder how you managed to get the truck registered in Scotland - as it has no catalytic converter. We were actually banned from driving it in many regions of Germany. We used (joking) a black label on the winshield instead of a green, red or yellow label.

I’m on a campsite in Penzance right now and this is parked in the corner love it

Been going through some of your older videos. This is one of the best campers I’ve ever seen. It’s so liveable.

Really enjoyed the video and the truck. Thanks for taking the time to film and share this mate! Great to see how other people roll and what they do with their trucks! Keep em coming!

Amazing vehicle, definitely one of the best I’ve seen
Brilliant video again and what a fantastic camper too job credit where credits due 👍
Cracking vehicle. I don't know if it was my monitor but the footage was flickering through that video.
I have an issue with one of my cameras.

Brilliant bit of kit ! Looks absolutely bomb proof . Bet he’s got some great story’s from the road : ATB

Astonishing! What an incredible life this vehicle has had! 😲💪

287,000 klm today as I got off the ferry back from Spain.
One of your best videos Rich. I’m getting to get a thing about Land Cruisers. Only one thing stopping me! Lack of drinking vouchers
Thank you.
I enjoyed that! All the best brother!
Glad you enjoyed

Saw this one in your last video and thought; "That looks tidy". Might get one of these instead of a t244
Love it. Always wanted a 78/9 Troopy or Ute. Rare in the U.K.
Great truck! .
I have to watch a video made in another country,

Awesome!
Hahahaha Sod’s law pal.
Hi from Brisbane ,Queensland, Australia.
Serious bit of kit that 👍
Great truck so well done. Looks a great location.
Ive always loved the Landcruisers....2nd home to me they are. Rob.
Top video as always👍🏻 cracking motor looks mega!
Fantastic camper.this man must be a millionaire. 🤣😂thanks for sharing well done guys.👍🇬🇧🍺🤘
You don’t need to be a millionaire to travel in your car if you live in it.
I am a millionaire? if you count time, health and happiness as assets. if you count money in the bank I'm poor and homeless. :)
What a cracking rig. Lovely job.
Sheffield, yes!
Is this Johnny Vegas😂😂 cracking mate 👍 take care
I thought that too
me too!
That’s a nice bit of kit
Really interesting. great to watch and made me want to spend haha
It’s already got me wanting to change my cupboards to draws.
First of your videos I've watched very interesting i will keep a look out for your next

15.5 mpg not bad really on a big camper with a 4.2 diesel but I bet it’s not as good as that off road
Great build by the way
Nice tour of a tasty truck
Thanks.
Wow what a fantastic motor.
Love the recaro seats,
Great Truck, great stories....Paint it Matte Green :)
What a beautiful machine 😍
I like it! Very well made and would definitely work for me.

Awesome setup bud 👍🏻
Those land cruisers are close on indestructible.
Awesome truck great info 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Needs more footage of the interior of the camper!!
Feel free to make that vid.

I'm pretty sure I saw this when it came to halifax... but we see a lot of these types of vehicles, so I can't be sure
Nice review
I think in this current climate it’s becoming more & more important to have a bug out vehicle. Especially if you need to escape Wales!
