So some history: Tamamo no Mae was a famous shapeshifting nine-tailed fox spirit said to have terrorized Japan and was one of the Three Great Yokai. It's said she seduced and manipulated the Emperor and even tried to poison him, but was found out by the great Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei and was hunted down before being slain and her spirit sealed in an ancient rock known as the Sessho-Seki (or, The Killing Stone). Even then however, it's said that a horrific Civil War tore apart Japan right after. She is famous, and I mean very VERY famous in Japan! Fun fact! Around the time of the game's announcement, the Sesshou Seki split in half! Supposedly releasing the malevolent fox spirit upon the world once more!
Its probably fine since her full name isn't outright stated In this game. Adding onto the other comment with some Fate Trivia, Tamamo in various aspects and classes is a recurring character at this point.
Boss is _such_ a popular Fate character that the game sorta expects you to know him, and isn't very secretive about him. @@алексейпугачев-л9й Yeah! Most Fate games were like that, where a big part of the fun was trying to figure it out as the characters did. Unfortunately, secret names just don't work for a Gacha game, so nowadays Servant's True Names are open secrets... It's nice to see Samurai Remnant return to an older style.
@@mads_in_zeroHonestly when they were doing secret names in arc 1.5 of fgo i was pretty happy about the fact they kept the fake names in the gacha too. Disappointing any other time though they dont give a shit about spoiling through the gacha except for one certain character that came out recently
Well to be fair he did meet musashi with her being from an alternate world. Who knows it could have been an alternate Joan of arc who was japanese. (I know it's not but hey at this point anything is possible)
An explanation about Tamamo Aria: Tamamo-no-Mae is a famous nine-tailed fox demon from Japanese folklore, and naturally she shows up in Fate as a Servant (she's one of the main characters of Fate/EXTRA). For complicated reasons, Fate's Tamamo cut off eight of her tails, which went on to develop their own identities and personalities (they don't get on with the original). Said tails are collectively referred to as the "Tamamo Nine", and they gave themselves names like Tamamo Cat, Tamamo Vitch and so on. Aria is indeed one of the Nine, unseen up until now. She's described by the others as being an airheaded weirdo, which as it transpires was a fairly accurate assessment.
I think the easiest way to explain it is to treat the Rogue Servants kinda like fanservice characters. Some of them are unique, but some of them are returning characters from other Fate games/stories. Since in the story they're anchored to magical energy from the leylines in the area, they don't affect the plot too much, so you don't have to worry about not knowing all their lore. If the specifics of their lore is important to the plot, they'll explain it.
never liked the guy myself. i guess in part cause it never felt like HE was actaully strong. he just had a lot of expendable weapons that he just so happen could just, generate wherever he wanted. so his arrogance was never actually valid, like some shitty nepo baby.
Nico: W-wha? Huh? What? Fans: Yes yes, the Spirit Origin Class System heart light dark of the Waxing Moon ritual Magecraft, we've all seen it. Nico: Huh? What? Huh?
So fun fact about the "Boss": His VA, Seki Tomokazu did a lot of roles in games that you know of. Like Kanji from Persona 4.........and Daru from Steins Gate (Remember back in Steins Gate 0 where you made fun of Daru's nerdy voice?). As for his True Name............he already gave you hints.
Us: "Nico sure is a silly billy. He focuses so much on petting cats & dogs that he doesn't realize that you can turn the camera to get a better angle." Nico: *rotates the swords in the Mountings menu* Us: "YOU CAN DO THAT?!???"
Ahh Tamamo Aria and Boss… Aria is definitely a character that you won’t know much of if at all since she’s one of the characters related to other source material, but in short she’s a servant split off from Tamamo-no-Mae from Japanese mythology (Notorious fox spirit essentially), who is also a servant summoned in other Fate games. They won’t elaborate on this. As for Boss you kinda miss it but he explained that he’s summoned as a Ruler. Ruler is an extra class meaning they don’t belong to the seven main classes. Extra class servants are rare and only appeared in the war by deliberate hijacking of the ritual or in the case of Ruler class if it seems like there’s too many servants roaming around that could cause chaos, like here where there are fifteen servants. Of course Boss here isn’t too keen on doing his job so he just open a shop and slack off. As for Boss himself he is very much an iconic Fate character that is in a lot of installments with a lot of limelight. Edit: Oh also servants from the future can show up, but they’re rarely summoned before their time and usually not as a strong as servants from the past since Fate (and other Type-Moon works) operate on the rule of the older something is the stronger it is.
Ah, good. You've finally met THE KING! Rogue Ruler/Boss is a character who, if you played other Fate series, you would be very familiar with. He's a very popular character. He's also one of the most overpowered characters in the Fate series. Top 5 at least, with a significant argument for being number one.
Fun fact: those gems in the store? They are actually the gacha currency for the mobile game (well, kind of...they can be converted to the currency "Saint Quartz" the smaller ones in the store are called "Saint Quartz Fragments"). Yep, those gems are none other than the thing that you roll the gacha with and the thing that has ruined many a wallet.
The fox girl is quite the unique servant, not like other characters where their other variations come from either another times or straight up another timeliness, the tamamo's got their variations from the same place, the nine tailed fox, which after some events awakened at the moon and severed eight of her tails because she want to lose some weight and all of those tails reincarnate into being of their own and now they are known as the tamamo nine.
The thing you've got to really get about Servants is that a lot of it is metaphorical. Their powers aren't usually manifesting what the literal historical figure could do in setting. For some Servants, their NP isn't an actual weapon they wielded, but a manifestation of an aspect of their legend. Something vital to them as a *character*. This also means that if you know how a particular Heroic Spirit died, or was famously injured, you can hypothetically replicate that kind of attack on them and it would be even more damaging than it would be against another random Heroic Spirit with the same kind of armour and skill. e.g. if Jonathan Joestar was a Servant, blows to the neck would be far more damaging than they would be against anyone else because he died due to a neck injury during his Legend. In turn, this leads to the use of NPs as a very tactical aspect. If a Servant carelessly reveals their NP, it leaves their identity more obvious, or easier to deduce. Especially if they're famous - and the more powerful heroes tend to be the more famous ones. Thus, making it easier to figure out ways to plan out and strategise ways to hurt that Hero.
Plenty of genuinely ancient servants do literally manifest exactly what they did in life. Demigods especially, though they could manifest new things too, as heroic spirits are materializations of legend. The gold-haired boss here basically gained nothing from being summoned as a servant, if anything he's arguably inferior to how he was while alive.
@@natchu96 True enough, but I wanted to try to keep this simple. A bit of "lies to children" is really the best way to introduce someone to a fandom as massively complicated as Fate. Let's get his head wrapped around this concept before introducing exceptions.
Actually, Nico experienced a perfect example of this in a completely different series, in Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked he had to fight none other than Baldr, and the only way to damage him was having something with Mistletoe, in the protag's case a Mistletoe phone strap.
Just a bit of reference for who Tamamo is... Tamamo no Mae is a malevolent nine tailed fox spirit in Japanese mythology known for bewitching men and manipulating them, even wrapping the emperor around her little finger. She was eventually sealed into a rock by Abe no Seimei (basically Japanese Merlin) after he figured out what the fuck was happening. Supposedly her malice was so strong that even touching the rock could cause people to become ill or just straight up kill them. Aria is an aspect of Tamamo, hence why she has only one tail (there's a whole lot of bullshit I left out but that's for another time). Side Note, the rock Tamamo was supposedly locked in actually cracked in half a year or two ago so people have been attributing disasters that took place around that time to her.
the fact a fox spirit known for bewitching men decided to take the form of a child (this time) feels like it...says something. then again tamamo fate lore is wild, at least it's not Tamamo Cat. I have absolutely no idea how to explain that one
@@MozillaVulpix the severed tails are alter egos, all taking a single aspect of Tamamo no Mae's personality to the exclusion of all else. Their physical forms are just emergent of their behavior in that sense. Though Tamamo no Mae herself began as just a single tail of a larger entity as well, whose one actual appearance in the franchise behaves much more similarly to the actual mythological descriptions of Tamamo and Daji (same fox, different country). As opposed to the Tamamo that normally shows up in these games, who is pretty much just the "I regret not having been a good wife" sliver of her personality.
If you want to know, this outfit for Musashi is brand new and just for this game. Her appearance in FGO is closer to what the pre-order bonus outfit you saw last episode looks like.
All you need to know about Ruler classes is that they tend to be referees of sorts in these Servant Battle Royale things and they usually dont desire to have a wish granted.
I'm not gonna say anything, BUT every time NicoB jokes about something related to Fate the amount of "oh man he really doesn't know does he?" increases to an alarming rate and I love it because after all, jokes are the deepest lore in fate and in the universe of type-moon
Just to point out. Servants are not just limited to historical figures, they can also be mythological people in the sense that if they made a lasting impression on society they can also be summoned. People Like Zeus or Odin... etc.
And so he appears. I will not delve too deep into it, but I will say that much like Musahshi, Boss (or at least his spirit), is INFAMOUS in the rest of the series, and a fan favorite as well. His candy actually depicts how he looks in another canon. Also his store has a few references to previous entries as well. The white mask belongs to an Assassin character from another series, and the triangle gems on his bench are funny enough parts of the currency for the Gacha game.
“Mongrel” man is in the house! I didn’t expect him to show up in this game wow lol. Nico’s got no idea just how much there is to this guy and how much he means to fate fans
25:44 So to elaborate on who Tamamo Aria or Rogue Rider is: She is actually one of the nine tails from the original Tamano-no-Mae, who is actually a nine tail Kitsune who once serve the Emperor Toba as a court lady. During the events of Fate/Extra CCC, she splits her tails into 9 different personality or alter-egos in her run (But not going too far into spoiler territory). However, she then cuts ties with them and tries to seal them but all 9 of them escape. It is unknown how Tamano Aria ends up in the place in this game but one thing I can tell you that all 9 versions of Tamano have different classes.

To clarify, you're right about "Boss" being a fan favourite. He shows up in a good number of fate media, and (like with other Servants) has different iterations depending on all sorts of factors like setting (though he still has a similar look and still is technically the same person as those other iterations) Part of the fun of the fate franchise is guessing who each Servant is, and I'm excited to see your reaction when you find who Boss really is
57:57 - I’ll refrain from saying anything on his identity for now but will say this. Amongst the Servants summoned in this game, he’s no doubt the strongest. So yeah Iori’s instinct was on point there, Saber is real lucky those kids came in before she went any further.
The "Boss" is indeed a character from another game, he's quite the recurring character too. He's a Ruler class in this which is a class that supervises the war when more than seven Servants are summoned. For his identity the name of the shop can give you some idea.
Congrats on meeting your first member of the Tamamo Nine! Quick summary of the Tamamo Nine: eight of them are the result of some Fate original lore added onto the legend of Tamamo no Mae which is she was actually the goddess Amaterasu who had to split herself into nine pieces in order to live among humans, they all seem to have the same goal of being a good wife. PS: The community affectionately calls Aria the High AF Tamamo cus this kid talks like she’s on another planet.
On the question of "Can a Servant show up in a time before they were even born?", the answer is yes. The thing is that most Fate entries are not period pieces like this one, and often occur much closer to if not past our current decade, so this sort of "rule" hasn't gotten much play overall. However, while time might not be the biggest of factors, space absolutely is. The land where events occur is often a big influence, so the game could throw out some massive names here like Tamamo (who, despite her appearance, was a legendary mythical threat in Japan and China) that would otherwise not phase you at all as an American, so you might have to brush up on your Japanese history as you play. The game does try its best to explain but even still, there are some things that are a given for a Japanese audience that us foreign audiences would have a harder time understanding the significance of. Speaking of which, the game alluded to the concept of "Tsujigiri" here. While we often romanticize samurai nowadays, the truth is a lot of them were ruthless people that saw themselves as above the common man because of that era's caste/class system. Being nobility or military, some of them, as mentioned in the game, would kill random people simply to "test" a new sword or fighting style, often at night and away from witnesses, with, of course, no repercussions. A motiveless crime. Though in this case, the victim being the shogun's retainer would be a way bigger deal, explaining the mob of people and soldiers investigating that area. One last thing: those gems the kids stole? It's FGO's gacha currency, just sitting there as an easter egg among some other easter eggs in Boss' merchandise.
Love how Nico doesn't remember that spirits can be historical or mythical when he meets an obvious mythical hero in the form of the one of nine fox spirits, don't ask Long story
There are some things to clarify and I’ll try to be spoiler free. When Boss(Ruler) said “in this world”, he meant it in a world of the living type way, as opposed to Musashi saying world in a different timeline/universe type way. The translation could have been clearer. And to your question about whether Servants could be summoned from the future or only past, that is an important plot point for an earlier Fate title, but it’s basically common knowledge that yes, Servants can be summoned from points in time from before they were even born.
Ah yes Rouge Rider, the community has already went from, "The hell is that!" to, "Always High af fox girl". Truly, the servant of all time. Rogue Rider is a bit of a, "if you know if you know" thanks to other games. I rather not go into her lore cause it's major spoilers cause she's related to other servants in other fate games. Funny enough, she is the only servant like this in game. So please don't think of her TOO hard.
So fun fact, the gems Eikichi stole from Boss's shop are actually currency in the mobile game for your gacha pulls. So you're doing the small child a huge favour taking them off his hands and leading him out of that dark...dark...path...
If you're playing a Fate game, you can make a fun game of trying to guess a Servant's True Name before it's revealed! Tamamo is a terrible example of this though, because she doesn't wait to tell you at all.
So interesting thing about Servants Nico... Servants traditionally are summoned into their prime body. So the age they are summoned in, is well them when they're most powerful. And as you joked, in some instances they are summoned as children, for example an author servant in the series has this exact case cause when he was a child is when his creativity was at it's highest despite most of his works coming out when he was older. Then there are some cases where servants have multiple "primes" so there's more than one age they can be summoned as. Another example is this one servant who's younger prime represents him at his peak strength and agility, but his older prime represents him at his peak wisdom and precision. But to get to Tamamo Aria, who has brought up this, she like Musashi references back to another Servant, Tamamo no Mae, who has her own importance in other Fate Material. You can just look at Tamamo Aria as an off shoot of Tamamo no Mae, who is also another large fan favorite in the fate community. More specifically Aria is an off shoot that represents her younger self. But it should be said that Aria's first introduction is this game, as she was a version of Tamamo hinted at, but never shown till now.
There he is, in his golden glory The GILGACHAD himself. And for his class, the Ruler is basically the referee/overseer of the Grail War/Ritual. But unfortunately, considering HIM, they had to substitute with someone else who is an impartial non-servant (usually from the church) to supervise the ritual in his place
Ah yes, the most terrifying Servant Class, the Door to Door Vacuum Salesman. Vacuums your face off with such *Supreme* efficiency, how could you say no to buying?
Nico meets Tammamo for two seconds and immediately bullshit guesses 90% of her background. I think playing a fate game has unlocked the next level of his powers.
Idk what all these commenters are talking about…that dude is just a common textile shop owner and does not have any other impact on this franchise whatsoever…nope
Ya know considering how fucking chill this version of the Gigachad is and his possession of Saint quartz fragments, my only conclusion is that this is my bond 11 max fou’d grailed Buddy who carried me through the whole FGO story and has chilled the fuck out and just wants to relax
Yaaaaaaay! You met the tiny version of one of my favorite servants! Tamamo Aria is one of the tails of Tamamo no Mae, a powerful, smart and beautiful mythological fox lady
To answer your question Nico , yes , significant figures can be summoned into the past by Masters , but it is quite a rarity , with there being only 2 cases as far as I know , but those would be spoilers so I won't name them
So it should be worth noting that Musashi IS in fact the only one of her kind, but as mentioned before, all entries take place in parallel worlds. Servants as a whole seem to exist in some timeless vacuum before they are summoned, as such they carry some level of awareness of their previous summonings albeit as hazy memories so why they don't remember any events from other games they may appear in they are at least aware of the fact that they are summoned to different worlds.
Grail war lesson number who give a damn: Yes, yes you can have future servants appear to the past. So long as you are famous or exist you are free game. You also get the benefit that the enemy don’t know who you are. The downside is too close to present time means the chance the earth record you is slime.
25:55 here is the tldr with minimum spoilers for Tamamo: Tamamo-no-Mae is a legendary figure in Japanese Mythology, Chinese Mythology & Indian Mythology. usually depicted as a beautiful woman who is actually a fox in disguise who seduces men, usually powerful men and causes the fall of kingdoms and very dark atrocities. Its a very interesting dive if you ever go into the real-life wiki. In Fate Lore she is of course a kitsune who became a 9-tail fox(yes, the same one that Naruto is based on) however after a long time Tamamo decided to cut off her own tails which eventually split herself into 9 different beings known in fate as the Tamamo 9. Aria is one of the 9, interestingly only 7 are known so far so we have 2 more to go. Super Interesting real-life lore: So according to the Japanese legend Tamamo-no-Mae was eventually captured and imprisoned in a rock, these rocks are named Sessho-seki, and the rock on which Tamamo's evil spirit still existed... UNTIL MARCH 6 2022 when the actual rock containing Tamamo's evil spirit broke in half setting her free into the world this is no joke, or creepypasta or anime bs, look it up, it was reported in the news
Iori: What song are you listening to make you vibing like that Arai? Aris: It’s called AC/DC! THUNDER! Iori: Esidisi? What’s that? Saber: Is that a Jojo reference? Iori: What’s a Jojo reference? Saber: Everything Iori. Everything.
Yes, Servant summoning IS independent of space and time, technically speaking, it is possible to summon Miyamoto Iori and Takao Dayu in this Waxing Moon Ritual. Also, in case you didn't notice, the boss is a Ruler. The Ruler class is one of the extra classes that exist in Fate. The Ruler class requires a servant to have no desire for the wish granter, as they are meant to be arbiters. The general rule in Fate is that a ritual usually has a person arbiting it and in the absence of one, the ritual will summon a ruler. So yeah Ruler here is supposed to be a referee, observing the ritual, but he chose to open a textile wholesale shop instead, what an ass.
Iori: Ok I think I understand, there is 7 servant classes and every servant is one of these classes Takao Dayu: That is correct Iori: And your class is saber because you use a sword. Saber: Of course Iori: So my master is a saber too right? Musashi: Nope, I'm a berserker! Iori: Ok... then that servant that destroyed my house was a saber. Saber: No, pretty sure they were a rider. Iori: What about the funny fox girl! She has to be a saber! Aria: Hehee, silly Iori, I'm a rider Iori:..I give up
7:40 - Jesus Christ is actually making his first canon Fate appearance in this year's Christmas event in FGO where St. Martha and a bunch of other Servants go on wacky Christmas adventures. We see him in the event and he's... well, he's Jesus as we know him. For the most part, if the physical characteristics of a servant are well known, then the servant will look like them with only some strange exceptions.
I like how Nico is fixating on just how much stronger Saber is than Iori, which (Spoilers below) Is fun because Iori himself starts doing the same later on.
I've watched Gigguk badly explaining the fate series' video and now I'm scared about the Waxing Moon Ritual... specifically the 'Moon' part but then again 'don't worry about it'
I think it might be called ‘waxing moon’ because of the shape of the item. It still kind of looks like a chalice, but they don’t have an idea of a Holy Grail in Japan, so they just called it that because it kind of looks crescent-shaped
Ah, the shop keeper! Probably one of my favourite incarnations of this character. He has appeared in almost every single fate work in some capacity. He's even more prevalent then the original Saber herself (Especially as she has all of her many clones to compete with). The only works in the fate franchise that's he never appears in are two light novel series; the well know Fate/Apocrypha, and the lesser known Fate/Requiem. The latter of which is still on going so he could still appear in it! So you're right, He's something of a fan favourite and his rat bastard energy has been captivating us all since 2004! Edit: As I was reminded He is also not included in Type Redline, as well as Apocrypha's sequel Lost Einherjar. Bringing up top four spin offs he's excluded from.
Ahem He also doesnt appear in lost einhejar Redline The og extra game(not ccc or extella games) And I belive his not in knights of sky silver(prequel to prototype) either
The Mushashi in FGO has a red a purple outfit and her hair is similar but less wild and wavy. Its not the same as the alternate costume you got but the same color scheme
Funny that you mention Amaterasu though... On an unrelated note, with how the world is stated to work, it's entirely possible for the literal embodiment of "what does the fox say?" to somehow be summoned as a servant. Like, unironically.
Servant are characters from both history and mythology who can range from heroes, villains, monsters, or just important people. Tamamo Aria likewise comes from the legend of Tamamo no Mae a legendary evil fox spirit from Japan. Also if you want a hint to Ruler's identity try looking up mythology related to a very important king and the name of his shop.
1:00:05 Yep, its possible. The place from where heroic spirirts being copied, the Throne of Heroes, exist outside of space and time in different dimension after all.
Tamamo was a fox spirit who caused chaos in Japan. Thanks to complicated stuff in other Fate games, each of her Tails became their own person. Aria is one such Tail. One of them is a Fox that identifies as a shark! Tamamo Shark!
The cute anime girl ironically probably makes the most sense in this game since she’s a massive Japanese legend and her attraction to us makes since with what her legend entails
Boss is a great recurring character that widely fluctuates between one of my favorite servants to one of my most hated depending on what class he manifests in. As he can become several different classes but each one is taken from a different point in his life. for example his archer class is from when he was a younger man and so he hadnt developed the hidden heart of gold yet and was just an enormous asswhole.
Time for me to explain some more real life lore on the Servants, this time on Rogue Rider, Tamamo Aria! You seemed very confused by this one so allow me to elucidate you. Tamamo Aria herself is not actually a real mythological figure, but she is tied to a mythological figure, namely Tamamo-No-Mae. Tamamo in Japanese mythology is a fox spirit (which is why she has the fox ears and the tail). She was a courtesan of an emperor, disguising her form as a kitsune, until she was revealed by an astrologer and fled. She was then tracked down, killed, and her spirit got stuck in a rock (which, fun fact, actually broke in real life, fairly recently too). And then Fate lore happened and now Aria exists.
Explaining the Fox girl. Tamamo Aria is a split personality of Tamamo-no-Mae, which I'm sure 30 other comment have covered. She is the split personality of "Strangeness".
Nico, to put things into perspective seeing "Boss" as a wholesale retailer is the same (or there abouts) as seeing Sethiroth working in customer service. And yes Nico, he is definitely a favourite of fans, myself included. God this is a too funny a way to include him. Also I believe that "Boss" would have anime figurine collection if given the opportunity. No I will not explain.
8:09 Yes, this game (FSR) and FGO. The unique thing that Rouges in FSR Waxing Moon Ritual are directly chained to the Spirit Font territory's and as Musashi notes they are also weakened compered to how they normally are in FGO (tho FGO has its unique conditions of the setting).
Funny Nico is raising his eyebrow to Iori's comments about "Boss" when he's right to do so. Without spoiling too much. The "Boss" is in fact, one of the most powerful heroic spirits and possibly, the most broken character in the entire franchise. He is so powerful that he can "summon himself" as an independent servant with no master, like yep, straight-up will himself into existence because he felt like it. So Iori pissing his pants before him was not unwarranted, him saying he felt like they were spared. If he wanted, "Boss" could have deleted both Iori and Saber on the spot.
Nico see fox ear girl: Are you in the right anime FATE fans : oh Nico you sweet summer child, you haven't even seen the "weird" ones yet. Maybe they won't be in this game, but if you keep walking down this path.....

Plot twist: They shoved her into the game, splitting her globally, ensuring she doesn't return entirely
Wouldnt this be considered spoiler? Since the game disnt say her whole name ywt?

She is definitely "The weird one"
But I do love tamamo no high the little weirdo
Vitch isn't one of them though😞
Tamamo Vitch is not a Tamamo.
@@tonyinfinite5174 Koyanskaya isn't one of them. But there is one of the Nine called Tamamo Vitch, the "competent and beautiful secretary".
THERE HE IS! IN ALL HIS GOLDEN DOUCHEY GLORY!
i swear we can fix him lol
never liked the guy myself.
i guess in part cause it never felt like HE was actaully strong. he just had a lot of expendable weapons that he just so happen could just, generate wherever he wanted. so his arrogance was never actually valid, like some shitty nepo baby.
Yup he always come back as a Same golden clothes, red eye and yellow hair he still always come back
The fact that Boss/Ruler decides to ignore the Waxing Moon Ritual for being a knock off it's really in character for him.

Ahh Tamamo Aria and Boss…
Aria is definitely a character that you won’t know much of if at all since she’s one of the characters related to other source material, but in short she’s a servant split off from Tamamo-no-Mae from Japanese mythology (Notorious fox spirit essentially), who is also a servant summoned in other Fate games.
I hope he plays EXTRA, either the remake or emulated

Ah, good. You've finally met THE KING! Rogue Ruler/Boss is a character who, if you played other Fate series, you would be very familiar with. He's a very popular character.
Aria appears.
Most normal reactions: OMG SO CUTE! SO KAWAII!!!
Nico: WTF IS THAT THING!!!
Mikon!
Woof!
Highest being in the era
@@MozillaVulpix Cat says woof, no elaboration needed
@@MozillaVulpix
Foxes are cat dogs. That's all you need.
@@natchu96 i mean yeah, but why that ends up being a fox cat dog in a maid outfit i've got no idea

Shame the one that was summonded here doesn't care about the war at all and just opened a store instead.
@@TheVegeta67honestly, goals.
Also there's a minor running gag of them being brawler-type characters (at least in the mobile game).
Caster move over, Ruler is now the nicest variant of him. Meaning this is both the best and worst version of him to be introduced to first.😂
I'm not gonna say anything, BUT
every time NicoB jokes about something related to Fate the amount of "oh man he really doesn't know does he?" increases to an alarming rate and I love it
because after all, jokes are the deepest lore in fate and in the universe of type-moon
Nico accidentally guessing entirely correctly when making jokes is a pretty big staple of the channel, to be fair

25:44 So to elaborate on who Tamamo Aria or Rogue Rider is:
She is actually one of the nine tails from the original Tamano-no-Mae, who is actually a nine tail Kitsune who once serve the Emperor Toba as a court lady.

He shows up in a good number of fate media, and (like with other Servants) has different iterations depending on all sorts of factors like setting (though he still has a similar look and still is technically the same person as those other iterations)
Part of the fun of the fate franchise is guessing who each Servant is, and I'm excited to see your reaction when you find who Boss really is
57:57 - I’ll refrain from saying anything on his identity for now but will say this. Amongst the Servants summoned in this game, he’s no doubt the strongest. So yeah Iori’s instinct was on point there, Saber is real lucky those kids came in before she went any further.
Saber is a boy.
Well, we do have evidence of servants being summoned to a tume before they were born with FGO, like Leonidas, Ushiwakamaru and Ben-Kei in Babylonia
Love how Nico doesn't remember that spirits can be historical or mythical when he meets an obvious mythical hero in the form of the one of nine fox spirits, don't ask Long story
A footnote about the Boss: Embrace his laugh. It will become an earworm whether you like it or not.
The fact that every random thing that nico has said correlates to something that actually exist in fate has made me laugh this entire episode

There he is, in his golden glory
The GILGACHAD himself. And for his class, the Ruler is basically the referee/overseer of the Grail War/Ritual. But unfortunately, considering HIM, they had to substitute with someone else who is an impartial non-servant (usually from the church) to supervise the ritual in his place
Might want to edit the name of the Rogue Ruler out, it's probably considered a spoiler? ...That name in all caps is beautiful, regardless.

Nico skill: Clairvoyance EX (Fake). Nico will guess important plot points but only when he's joking.
Nico's freakout at fox child's... everything is the funniest thing 😂

The "boss" guy is voiced by the same Japanese VA that voices Daru from Steins;Gate... let that sink in.
Iori: Ok I think I understand, there is 7 servant classes and every servant is one of these classes
Takao Dayu: That is correct
Iori: And your class is saber because you use a sword.
Saber: Of course
Iori: So my master is a saber too right?
Musashi: Nope, I'm a berserker!
Iori: Ok... then that servant that destroyed my house was a saber.
Saber: No, pretty sure they were a rider.
Iori: What about the funny fox girl! She has to be a saber!
Aria: Hehee, silly Iori, I'm a rider

Ah, the shop keeper! Probably one of my favourite incarnations of this character. He has appeared in almost every single fate work in some capacity. He's even more prevalent then the original Saber herself (Especially as she has all of her many clones to compete with).

Watching Nico sink deeper into the rabbit hole that is Fate is a comedy show that never ends. You are still only at the tip of the iceberg.
lol true
MONGREL
ONORE!!!
ZASHU!
Little did Nico know that the Jesus he described is not the Fate one but the JoJo one.
Jesus is in fact the original jojo (pronounced like yoyo)
Nico see fox ear girl: Are you in the right anime
FATE fans : oh Nico you sweet summer child, you haven't even seen the "weird" ones yet. Maybe they won't be in this game, but if you keep walking down this path.....
