Just an update after nearly 1 year to the day the shroud has failed and no longer usable sadly the M14 thread inside the silencer has failed as its plastic and not alloy!
Just to let you know I build my own silencer system and shrouds I always mod my rifles, I’m on tinkering with a idea for a vixen shroud silencer too, once I have got something sorted and very extremely quiet I will post it on my RUclips channel, and share the details.
Fair play to you mate for making your own shroud/silencer I tilt my hat to any one who can make something that makes there equipment better. Thanks for watching my channel content.
Great video, purchase mine couple of weeks ago , found it better to use a 14mm black nylon washer to the block then add the 14mm supplied o-ring it stops the carbon sleeve slipping & turning

I got the adapter and use a weirauch xlk . Very quiet. The look doesn't bother me but I take your point denny . The donny fat boy is apparently the same diameter as the shroud.
Nice can’t go wrong with the XL-K mate I have one on my Revere it’s sublime Donny Fl fat boy are around £200 lot of money after spending out on adaptor etc! It’s an expensive hobby indeed mate! UTFT👌🏻💙
That actually sounds like good value for money to me when my Donny FL Yokozuna cost me £200 and my Twink C was £100. The Twink C on my BRK Ghost is actually more quiet than the Yokozuna (think you're really paying for that quick release and the modular design and excellent build quality). When you consider what you have in carbon fibre, that sounds like a good price to me.
Yes gear value for money & more importantly the proof is in the pudding! Believe me these shroud silencer’s are a must for all Vixen owners and a testament to the guy that made it. Thanks for your great input, have a great day dude 👌🏻
Hi denny when talking the shroud off with the shroud in front of you mine is very stiff I can't move it do you twist it to the left or to the right that's looking down the shroud like your videos very informative and do you think it could have been lock tight on many thanks colin Lofthouse
Hi Colin if it’s the original aground your referring to there always v tight I don’t think they use lock tight mate it’s just the thread as it’s not half inch unf! So you struggle getting the shroud off everyone does you just have to take care it should be anti clockwise to release it off the barrel mate.

I own a vixen short and love it but I am dubious about fitting an external moderator as it will void the warranty for the rifle ??!!! Can you or any give me advice or what mod I can get fitted ! Thank you

I got the mod done by Vector Air when I bought it, then bought a Weirauch "fat" moderator & it's bloody amazing.
