Discovery Jazz Ensemble - Grade 1.5
The trumpets are in the spotlight in this easy version of the 1985 techno rock classic recorded by the group A-ha. Featuring an energetic rock groove throughout, this chart is solidly scored for the entire band, and no solos are required.

Every time I hear songs done in this style of jazz it makes me think of 70s and 80s tv show themes and intros. Like Hill Street Blues or even comedies like Night Court

I’m a pianist in my jazz band and part time trombonist (my main instrument has always been Tuba but that’s not for jazz) and we’re playing this arrangement. For this particular piece I’m practicing on the piano and holy GOD it’s fun to play (but hard)

I find the key to be too low...it really gets muddled because of that and loses intensity... but i suppose it would be easier for younger players to play it in this key.

Hey, I'm having a bit of trouble wrapping my fingers around this. It would help if I knew what my part only sounded like. Would it be at all possible to release the individual parts? I can't hear the piano very well in this particular one, and I'll need a bit of help.

I think the composer just wanted to give the saxophones something to play because half the time saxes just have harmonies or rests.

@NOTPARZ Shorts At least in my school, altos are always playing harmonies
