  • Just a quick video today. This weekend I got my hands on a retro computer haul, including an early Pentium-based Packard Bell computer.
Everything supposedly works, well one thing might not, come see what I got and stay tuned for follow-up videos!

Please make a longer video about this computer- I have always loved their design.

Oh there will be one. Full teardown, cleaning, possible retrobriting, maybe upgrades.

That looks like my very first PC - a Packard Bell 486DX (The DX meant it had a math processor!!) LOL - it had 4mb of memory and 200MB hard drive.

Yeah PB used that chassis for a few generations. It was popular!

I actually have one, just doesn't help much when my lips smack together all the time ha ha! I try to edit them out but for this quick video I just did some basic edits.

With the monitor being labeled multi-scan, I have an NEC MultiSync XV14 and even though it's called that it only does 31khz. I tried it with my PC-98 in 24khz mode and it doesn't work however it does work on my Gateway Vivitron 1776 monitor (made by Sony).

Surprisingly I can't find too much info on the monitor, but I only did a basic search. Will do some investigation when I'm ready to tackle the whole thing...
