I moved here over 20 years ago to be near family. Have always regretted it. Locals are very unfriendly and snobbish. I miss Houston more than ever!!!
I live in Birchwood,TN...about 20 miles from Cleveland. The housing market was decent about 5 yrs ago or so. no where in the area is reasonable anymore. That is unless you want to spend 3 times what a house is worth or buy a shack for 350k.

The crime rate is somewhat high, along with the homeless.

What are your thoughts about Summit View new construction? Or any other builders that are good seeing the comments about DR sounds like we need to stay away from homes built with them.

What about working in or around Cleveland? If a $500k home is affordable, I’m assuming the salaries are commensurate?
Nope not unless you gotta a degree, most manufacturing jobs don't even pay a living wage. They also like to falsely boast about the economy, and falsely advertise for jobs THAT ARENT HIRING. And that first subdivision was on mouse creek rd. It is so built up on mouse creek and at the end of the road leading into town it's REDICULOUS.
16 or 17 an hour is considered good here
Cleveland is a horrible place to live. Drugs ,Crime on the rise illegals everywhere decent housing starts at 350k and jobs pay less than 20 an hour if you can find one

D.R. Horton has a very poor reputation across the country. You could not give me one of their homes for free. You are almost guaranteed to have a roof leak or a window leak which will lead to toxic black mold in a very short time. It is why they are priced so inexpensively.

I bought a house with them… I have friends who also bought it over 5 years ago. few problems, as in all houses in the United States that are built with masonry. The guarantee responds to any problem very quickly. They clearly don't offer the best quality of finish, but it was what I could afford, as could my friends.

As far as affordable.. no local here can afford 400,000 to 500,000 for a houses. Plus , look how close house are together( talk about being able to shake hands with your neighbors. ) Clevland is also extremely overcrowded.. traffic is a nightmare. Seriously don’t listen to this guy.

Do not come to Cleveland it's not what it seems underneath the cute little town are a lot of drug addicts & homeless, cops are rude & stop you if you don't drive just to run your name it's all a facade...
It's a town for the rich, and if you become homeless good luck getting a bus ticket to somewhere else you may have to call around
a few churches to get you a bus ticket out of Cleveland...
There's a saying here come for vacation stay for probation these people here won't help you if your poor churches here want your money, but when you really need the help they could care less find
