I spent years trying to get the hell out of Murfreesboro 😂😂😂. Once I left, I’ve never looked back. Also, I love it that you think $450,000 is an “affordable” home, especially with the wages paid in Tennessee, a right to work state with no unions.

Most states are right to work states, and if you think 450k is a lot for a home, don’t move out west.

@@popcornanytime7414 Hawaii is literally one of the most expensive states to live in (tied for 3rd). And on top of that the wages are 7 percent lower than comparable mainland states according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. lol

My wife and I visited Murfreesboro 2 weeks ago and we loved it. We are considering relocating to its neighboring town Christiana. Murfreesboro downtown is nice and it reminds me of the downtown in the movie Back to the Future, it looks very similar. Lol

home prices here are not bad at all but rent is through the roof here as sum1 as young as me that lives down here im unable to get a home loan and It is impossible for me to rent a 1 br studio apartment as they are well over 1300/m and its pretty hard to find a decent paying job in murfreesboro so i have to live with roommates and if you are sum1 without a car if you end up having to be outside at night past like 10pm its not very safe their is always sum1 prowling around the streets looking to rob sum1. theirs also a pretty decent drug problem down here which is pretty sad but i guess their are drug problems everywhere but i find it to be a little worse down here compared to other places the community here is pretty good and most people seem to be pretty nice and im sure the more suburban areas down here are nice but its not very easy to live down here unless you make a good amount of money but thats just my opinion on it

Other than downtown and campus the lack of reliable transit and walk ability really hurts Murfreesboro and many other cities in Tennessee

You may be able to get roommates for around $600 each per month.

Not by yourself. You’ll have to get one or more roommates, even then, it’s slim pickings.

The University should be a "Pro". City would be much, much lesser without it. Also, Central Magnet School is the #1 High School in the state, academics-wise. I believe McFadden (county) and Discovery School (city) are both in the Top Ten in the state for elementary schools. All 3 mentioned are Magnet Schools (must test to get in). Private schools (MTCS and PCA) here are very nice, as well.

public transportation IS a con. just means more homeless people and trash. so yall r doing great!! i love murfreesboro!! dont become like oklahoma city trashed out with homeless EVERYWHERE and not just in select areas and public transit is ALLOWING THAT TO happen. it's awful!!! public transit coming near my house makes me feel unsafe. and honestly i have been to murfreesboro like 4 times and i have allergies in oklahoma and never had them there and was so happy. so i feel like ur lying to me lol. aw man u just said the same thing as the tulsa real estate girl lol. i thought yall were original but nope. its all just a pre written script
