Don’t forget to mention that with the influx of outer-staters Locals will no longer have the ability to afford and buy a Home in the Area that their Family have lived for Generations, Sparta protect your small town feel!
I’d like to own a few acres there for camping and hunting as I live in Nashville so it is close enough to go even just for a day but it’s waaaaaaay too conservative for a lefty like me. 😂
We’re very lefty liberals and literally just bought a 102 year old house on Gaines Street, close to historic downtown Sparta. It’s funny that you said that because unfortunately Marjorie Taylor Greene is my relative and there have been a few homes in Georgia District 14 that I loved but refuse to live in her district. She’s worse than people even realize. I’m actually the one that gave the Southern Poverty Law Center the screenshots and notes I had gathered on her social media activity which got her a much deserved spot on their HateWatch list. Marjorie still thinks it was Democrat Lucy McBath’s campaign that did it. 😂 I figured Sparta was conservative but hopefully we can add some blue to the political landscape. So ready to leave Chattanooga and after growing up in north Texas I’m really looking forward to cooler summers. 105 degree days really suck.
@@bebetterdobetter7836 Oh wow! Glad you were able to get that info on MTG out. She really is the worst of the worst. And it’s good for us to be a little light in the darkness. I’m sure there are wonderful people in Sparta. Hope you enjoy your new home! 😁
Honestly Sparta isn't that bad, its pretty conservative sure, but I've never felt particularly unsafe even when I had a pride sticker on my car. Even Cookeville is more aggressively conservative, at least from what I've seen.
Thanks for the great video. For the complainers of out of state buyers, get used to it. It's everywhere. The sellers are counting on the out of state buyers because the locals can't afford it. Same thing happening everywhere else like Arizona. Can't stop change.
@@TennesseeHomeExperts I grew up in sparta in the late 70s and 80s. I left there in 1988. But when I was there black people lived in certain areas and only those areas. That has changed a bit since then. but sparta was always very racist and not afraid to show it. I don't have a lot of good memories there. Most people won't talk about this but there is also a lot of witchcraft that area. I know it sounds crazy but it is very true. The law enforcement there has always been very corrupt and quite dangerous. Based on someone who I know that still lives there has told me that is one thing that has definitely not changed.
I've grown up here since the 80s while you have bluff city and the hill where most people of color live personally live on King St myself. I've only seen one racist in town. As for law enforcement, it's only dangerous if you break the law. we've had a drug epidemic that seems to be under control. We got a real good sheriff, and the former sheriff did some questionable things, but even he wasn't horrible just don't do anything illegal or get caught. Sadly alot of old money wanted sparta to be a retirement community, and we mist out on some good opportunities, and we have a wheel tax.
@@r.g.5.0.h.o.51 I am glad things have a changed. I was born in the 60s like I said I grew up there in the 70s and early 80s so things were quite different then. I always like to hear something good. Thanks for sharing this.
Look’n good, Chief! I wish they could develop a large marina with condos attached on Center Hill Lake.
Wow my old hometown, feels like a lifetime. I kinda miss it but dont feel like i have anything there for me anymore, but nice to look at
@ 16:16 Calfkiller is the name of the river that runs through Sparta which is where your drinking water comes from. 😂
At the moment they have some really nice unusual homes for sale, in case you want something that stands out. Looks like a nice town to live in.
Don't forget you have a Community College right in town! Motlow!
yeah i think the next city tour should be Hendersonville tn.
Anything particular you would like to see in Hendersonville?
no, just a usual walking tour how you usually do.
We'll get it done soon! @@EvanShields-q6g

@@skylancer-zer0205 Good to know!
Yes, we have crazy people living here who who love big government and high taxes so you'd be fine.
What about Churches
There are lots of churches!
No mention of a community college? I'm disappointed.

I'm thinking f the retirement homes. I cannot afford more money than that and need quiet.
I hate that pit bulls are banned in Sparta!
