    OK, BY FAR THE BEST VIDEO ON THIS PROCESS!! He was/is spot on. Watching this video prior to actually doing the test, was the smartest idea. The written directions seem a little too wordy. I recommend watching the tutorial before doing the test!

  • @Ridogg81

    Flaw: the spatulas should not be placed on the card at first. They may get contaminated and put some of the antibodies from the card into your finger and ruin the test. Also , you should wipe away the first drop of blood. Do not massage your finger after you wipe it with alcohol, otherwise your alcohol wipe was pointless. I’m a medical assistant so I’ve been trained in how to do this in a professional setting , I’m not just making these things up. Thank you fir the video. You may want to edit it or put a note In there though

      Not a bad idea to line up the Eldon sticks at the beginning. But definitely NOT inside the circles. I tell my students to line them up outside the card.

I had to get a shot called Rho(D) immune globulin since I was pregnant but besides that would I be able to get a test like this to take at home to see exactly what blood type I am because the whole Rh negative thing is extremely confusing. Does it mean I could be A negative, B negative or is Rh negative it's own blood type?

I could have been in a sticky spot if I had cheated on my husband with some other man with positive blood though. I still have my medical notes from 1992/1993 where the doctor wrote she is AB- and her husband is A-. They also stamped a black star and wrote "RH Neg." in large letters on the upper right corner of my medical record. It's a big deal if the mother has RH Negative and the father of the baby has RH Positive blood.

    How does the control circle tell you the test is good? If there are no antigens in the circle its just your blood and some water? Please explain.

    • @renhartung
      @renhartung  3 года назад +1

      While the control circle does not have any antibodies it does have the rest of the ingredients just like the other circles. So, if agglutination (clumping of cells) does happen in the control circle something went wrong and the test is invalid. This could be due to a problem with the card itself (contaminated ingredients) but is more likely due to an error of cross contamination when applying the water and blood... If the person doing the test accidentally mixes the samples from multiple circles on the card the control will likely agglutinate.

    Here's a question to the origin of man. It concerns the blood test. I asked everyone that reads this to look into your own family and conduct this experiment. Follow the blood type of members in your family back as many generations as possible. What I have concluded, the mother's blood is passed on. I believe, every daughter has a mother back to the very first mother. And in my case that goes back to O- blood found in Great Britain. And furthermore concludes that man did not migrate to Great Britain from Europe, rather man started in many, many places around the world. The myth and Theory of man's origin from that in Africa can be debunked in so many different ways. All one has to do is understand the word indigenous and research Australia.

    How does the blood not run off the card when tilting it

    • @renhartung
      @renhartung  Год назад

      Sorry for the delay. I believe there are two reasons that the blood does not run off. One is that the card surface is hydrophobic (repels water) and so the blood (which is mostly water) beads up kind of like water on a recently waxed car. The second is water's cohesive nature (it's attracted to itself and so stays together).

    • @renhartung
      @renhartung  5 лет назад +4

      You could ask the doctor to order a blood typing test, but they usually don't want to do one unless you need blood. If a person has O- blood they can give blood to any other blood type, but they can only receive from O- So, O- is considered the universal donor. The universal recipient blood type is AB+. That blood type can accept blood of any ABO type but they can only give to AB+ type.

    • @charlesmiller5078

      Wade is correct... If you are Rh negative there will be no reaction in the third circle (no agglutination or clumping of the red blood cells). The third circle (labeled "anti D"") will look like the control if you are Rh negative.

    You said control contains everything else that the others have except antibodies, But you just finished saying the others contained antibodies. That's all you said about them! So, the way you said it is a little confusing. Are you actually trying to say that the others contain things 'in addition' to the antibodies that you talked about. And that the control contains those additional things as well, but no antibodies?

    A person has Blood type A how he has Antibody B????

      The immune system makes antibodies against the antigens we do not have. A person with type A blood does not have B antigens, so that person's immune system will make B antibodies.

    Actually, anti-A would have antibodies against the B antigen. Anti-B would have antibodies against the A antigen. This mimics real life.

    • @renhartung
      @renhartung  3 года назад

      A person that has A in their blood type and not B would produce anti-B antibodies-- I think that is where you are going with the idea of mimicking real life... But, on the Eldoncard we are using each circle to detect the presence of these different antigens (A, B, and Rh). The anti-A circle contains antibodies against A antigen and is used to detect whether or not the person's blood contains A antigen. I hope that make sense.
