Prime 2's resemble their 2d counterparts the most. I think they're all actually the same species though, and Retro Studios is just indecisive with designs. Probably both different species and indecisiveness, actually.
I never understood why the pirates had such drastically different designs from Prime game to Prime game. The 2D titles that featured them were pretty consistent, always giving us the funky crustacean people in different colors. Even Other M used that design iirc, but the Prime trilogy? 3 drastically different (but all good) sets of designs for what I think is meant to be one species. Them being different species all fighting under the Space Pirate banner and combat systems would be a great way to explain the design changes.
I see that the new Metroid prime announcement has got your creative juices flowing. (¬‿¬) Well I for one, am very happy to see it. You make some fantastic music dude. 👍
The fact that the Pirates have moved on from Dark Samus and have chosen Sylux as it's leader just shows how resilient they are. I hope the pirates are a major threat this time in terms of combat difficulty. I'd love big skirmishes against them and not 1 v few encounters.
Wouldn't want anything like Zero Mission, where each shot from a Front Lines Trooper deals 50 Damage, especially if they fire in Full-Auto, like in the first Prime.
Not sure if Sylux is actually their leader or if they're just working together on something or if they're the ones hiring him. He is a bounty hunter after all (though metroid's understanding of what "bounty hunter" means is much closer to "adventurer" by Nintendo's own admission.)
@@DerangedGodOfMischief yeah I'd go with him being a bounty hunter with his own ulterior motives. Be interesting to see how his character plays out as the primary antagonist.
@@RemixRave I think Sylux could tie into fusion by being aware of and opposed to the sinister conspiracy within the Federation since his suit is supposed to be one of their top secret research projects. But since they're a secretive clique he doesn't really have any legitimate above-ground options to fight them and just takes whatever assistance he can get in his personal vendetta. I'd be interesting to have him survive to the post-dread era and have him and Samus eventually reconcile since his problem with Samus isn't personal; its by association.
Nah, they haven't been in a Metroid game as an antagonistic force for 3 games straight since Super Metroid in the timeline. The explosion of Zebes pretty much put a definitive end to their attempts of Galactic conquest, or at the very least, a very difficult road block that put them out of commission for a significant amount of time. Although, literally taking what you're saying, yes, they could come back after that significant amount of time. But the destruction of Zebes in SM totally ruined any and all plans they had and forced them to retreat into obscurity, that much is clear.
Pretty crazy how these sound, you must have so much inspiration to do these concept osts I've been listening to your Sylux theme on loop since its release and this one is a real banger too
I just thought of what the theme reminds me of: Aeon Flux. Its soundtrack design explored some unique ideas, that flow together. Curious what kind of squads we might run into along the way. If Sylux made a deal, this could be quite a battle. Maybe other Hunters as well
The second or third Prime game that shows the Space Pirates as an army. Like a threat on a galactic scale kind of threat, Prime 4's Space Pirate theme from the Trailer is my new favorite theme for the Space Pirates
Ngl i live how thé prime 4 one is more like the echoes one on the sonority Prime 1 and 3 sound similar because Prime 2 sound darker / more deep because of dark samus and dark aether existence Prime 4 with our old Friend sylux who's (mostly) gonna be out New antagonist never truly fight and also WE don't know barely anything about him. The Theme reflect that.
@@LZ02-OVERTUREYa know, I hope that the space pirates make a massive comeback somehow after Dread, I always felt like the games never really managed to truly capture just how POWERFUL the space pirates truly were as an empire.
@@bluecruz1323 I feel that's what the Prime games do. They fill in all this extra detail showing there was much more to their ultimate defeat than what had been shown. It takes a lot to really shatter an interstellar power, and the destruction of Zebes was just the final blow of many. It is feasible for them to return after Dread because at that point a significant amount of time has passed with the remnants lying low, it's not impossible for them to have rebuilt a viable military by now.
Metroid Prime 4 finally had it's gameplay reveal as you already know so I wanted to invite you to participate in my next big Metroid related remix project that I intend on inviting other musicians to participate in as well, it's going to be called the Metroid Prime Beyondmix and the goal is to remix a variety of Metroid prime related game music which includes titles like Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid Prime Hunters, or if one knows how to compose a remix from scratch Metroid Prime Federation Force related music too is also welcome. Remixes of songs that are from the Metroid Prime named games only will be a part of the remix project unless one uses Metroid prime percussion samples. either Metroid prime percussion or Metroid prime related samples will make a song that is remixed from a non Metroid prime titled game allowed to be submitted for the project. Just thought I'd invite you to the next metroid remix megamix project I have in the works I look forward to hearing your reply the deadline is a ways away and the final deadline won't be until there's a concrete day of release revealed. I did one awhile back called the Metroid dreadmix which released on the same day dread came out at 8pm pacific time. Also I absolutely love this recreation of the space pirate music from the trailer phenomenal work as always 😊
The only thing I don't like about the Metroid prime music is the space pirate themes 😅. Especially metroid prime 1 it sounds really repetive. Like I get the feeling is supposed to produce but it gets annoying tbh. But this is the best arrangement of it I've heard
What I love is that every single Prime title has their own Space Pirate “race” lol my favorite is Prime 2 tbh
Classic Prime 2 W
Same! It nails the alien vibe
I like the Prime 1 ones, especially the weapon ones with those weird helmets
Prime 2's resemble their 2d counterparts the most.

I love that you've mixed in pirate themes from other Prime games. It's my favorite thing about this arrangement.
Please keep making prime 4 music I’m starving for Metroid anything
The EMMI and X were great to fight against in Dread but the Space Pirates just hit different

Mate the Space Pirate's leader was Raven Beak the entire time
I can't wait to hear this game's soundtrack. The small bit we got sounds so good already.
No matter how many times they are defeated they always come back, they look like rabbits

Exceptionally fitting with what we have so far. Top tier work. If this was an emulator, it would run better than console
hire this man!!!

Bellísimo 👏👏💯
Smashed it yet again 100/100
Damn, hire this guy for the Prime 4 soundtrack.
I personally think that the space pirates will eventually return after dread and not just in the prequels.
Why wouldn't they
Well, because Super Metroid happens way before Metroid Dread and in Super Metroid the space pirates were said to have been finally defeated.
@@Guarrow Because they're claimed to all be dead in Super Metroid which is why we haven't seen them ever since in the timeline.

I like to call this "Space pirate invasion"
