This is already incredible, but when you consider that Mick knew next to NOTHING about what direction these tracks needed to take (id didn't give him much an idea as to the tone of Doom Eternal before he was to make its music apparently), that amplifies this by 10000%. That opening build into the main riff just fits the tension of this map so well. Like the priest is just shitting his robe in fear of the slaying and having the demons just throw absolutely everything they have at this unstoppable killing machine, this nearly invincible force of nature. I honestly feel that the master level version of this map on Nightmare difficulty is absolutely cannon, especially with the fact they threw a fucking Cyberdemon at you in the starting area.
I like this theme I doubt it's intentional But the "buzzzzz buzz buzz whirrr whirr" sound Reminds me of how the Cultist base would construct and upgrade demons
This is the sort of music where you must assume every detail is intentional. One does not craft a soundtrack this good without careful attention to detail.
