@@scorpina69 NO ...not just because of the 🎸...Because Fast Car is a BEAUTIFUL song and obviously TIMELESS...in addition, Tracy & Luke executed the song BEAUTIFULLY and EFFORTLESSLY and it was AWESOME seeing Tracy Chapman performing again...oh and BTW...that performance is still trending 💯🤪
@@Caperhere YES... to see Tracy Chapman's BEAUTIFUL smile light up the room..was a breath of fresh air...and her GRACE is still as elegant as it was 30 something years ago...❣️
@@scorpina69 Tracy & Luke's performance was 🔥 🔥 🔥..let's keep in mind that music is subjective so we may not agree as to who had the best performance ...
Love this interview. When I saw the guitar…I noticed the curly/wave of the wood….and I thought….looks like Koa wood. Then to find out…it is/was. Koa is very special in Hawaii, where I was born and raised. It was used to create furniture, canoe paddles and ukulele instruments. I have a Kamaka Ukulele that I cherish. Koa is hard to come by now these days. Fast Cars has always been special to me. Luke Combs releasing it some 36 years later….that brought me to tears with so many memories. I’ve always ‘thought Tracy Chapman’s lyrics were brilliant and amazing when I first heard it in 1988 (I was 25 and trying to figure out my life). So at 61….it’s kinda a full circle moment seeing the duet on the Grammy’s. Waimaka (tears) just freely flowed. It was s magical moment….and now knowing she played a Koa guitar. Just extra special. My heart (pu’uwai) filled with joy. Mahalo for sharing this interview. Aloha 🌺🤙🏻🥰
This is the sweetest thing EVER! How absolutely cool is Tracy Chapman. I’ve had a major crush on her since 89, lol. A beautiful story thanks for sharing
This was actually a nice interview. I honestly enjoyed listening to it and every question I would have asked as a guitar and music lover was asked so nice job.

Cool heart warming interview. Bless you Judy. Thanks CBC for the share!
It was too beautiful! So beautiful and mature. The gray in the dreads. A lady, owner of her music. No pyrotechnics. Your voice and your guitar. There is a lot of beauty in simplicity.
Miss her she's a 💎 gem. ...brought back memories from yrs ago. Anthem from that time. She's sooo good. These young billionaire pop stars don't hold a candle to this kind of talent...understated popularity...not media soaked obnoxious new girls who have their whole lives in your face....just obnoxious. This is real music..timeless. will we be hearing shake it off in 40 yrs???? I think not😂😂😂😂
What a Time in History we will NEVER forget, i have her CD from 1988, knew than what I know NOW she's a ICON n LEGEND!!! Thanks Luke Combs you were amazing as well!! A standing ovation well Deserved!!!!
Fabulous story! Means so much knowing that Tracy was playing a guitar made by a woman from my hometown. Congratulations On this win Tracy and Judy who made the guitar! ❤🎶👍🏻🤠
Yay Judy! I’m a bit star struck and proud that I know you! Congratulations on creating such an important instrument. Wow. And to top it off you give a shout out to CCSO! ❤️❤️❤️
The guitar sounded beautiful and was perfect with her voice. Koa wood is beautiful in itself! Of course she still has it…the sound and craftsmanship. I wonder if SHE knows…
Beautiful guitar. Wouldn't mind one myself! I've watched vids of the performance many times trying to figure out what luthier- and, of course, can't get enough of that performance. Cool story. Kudos Judy Threet.
Luke Coombs brought back a great song, but even though he has a marvelous voice i want to hear Tracy sing it i would know her voice anywhere. I had babies back then and her signing voice would quiet them down.
Her smile could light the world.
FACTS 💯 and her GRACE is as prevalent now as it was over 30 years ago ❤
I thought the same. She was the brightest star of that night, in my opinion. 🌟🌟
@@doloresvega4420 I totally agree 💯
Truer words have never been spoken! You could feel the love in that room.

After seeing her great big smile, I was fixed on her guitar! Great back story❤️

Tracy and that guitar, it is the perfect match.
Judy is one of the great luthiers of North America, and one of the first builders to specialize in smaller bodied acoustic guitars.
