The woman wiping tears from her eyes at the 3:45 mark of the video is So Hyang's mother in law. Tica, one of the prolific posters on all So Hyang's video reactions, showed that to me a couple of weeks ago. She is also a long time cancer survivor and So Hyang and her are best friends forever. So Hyang is simply nuts about her as a friend and they often talk late into the night. Thought you might like to know that. 😉

Unique artistry, full emotional commitment, amazing delivery on this vocal marathon.
Imagine Sohyang trying her heart out to perfect this song for hundreds of hours in a dark room, in her studio, in the showers… just to comfort us listeners. She probably cried a hundred times during her preparations due to frustrations, emotions, the challenges and difficulties of this beast of an arrangement and at times when her voice wasn’t up to pitch… She is the most beautiful person in the world!!!

This is my favorite performance of hers. It usually makes me cry, and I've seen a number of reactors cry with it too. Probably in large part due to the lyrics, so I'm delighted that you found one with lyrics. Her sincerity can't be doubted during this vocal endurance test. She sings to give consolation, and this does it.

This is another Korean song you should definitely check out. It's one of the most heartbreaking break-up songs.
Her crying toward the end is so beautiful and so painful, remind me of Clare Torre's 'The Great Gig In The Sky'.

Thank You for a Great Reaction. I too actually prefer her songs in Korean, especially after I have read the lyrics, the language seems to convey heart felt emotion better! The Emotion, Vocal Mastery, for over 7 minutes with scarcely a spot to breathe! Even she admitted it was a Beast to sing!

Much like "Lean on me", this song is a technical masterpiece. I also love when she goes gospel. She is so good at hitting the emotion when she is singing gospel. As for your British comment, doesn't that have something to do with a stiff upper lip?

The original song was a Gospel-like song sung by Yoon Bok-hee a long time ago, and it was a song that I didn't enjoy listening to because I couldn't erase the slightly burdensome and sticky feeling. Sohyang further strengthens the sensibility of the original song and strongly conveys the message of complete comfort and hope. Her beautiful voice and her sincerity exquisitely matched, resulting in another masterpiece. The world best singer sang it with full emotion and sincerity, how can it not be a masterpiece?
