Most of the singers that put something out there are good enough to dear e some praise in some area! Tearing down somebody is just wrong ! You can still be honest but always put in some praise with any criticism! Many , many singers, can kinda , well not sound that good but with time and training as you know a lot can be accomplished! I’m preaching to the choir here I know because your that guy, the guy that is honest but in a kind and nurturing way! It’s one thing if a singer joins a competition in vocals ! Sohyang is a Vocal Marathoner as you said who doesn't stop running so that she can always be with us who are weary and lonely. She practiced this song harder than any other song and so she had to even cupping. The lyrics of this song tell us the reason she sings and lives.

I'm glad she was active in 2020. In Korea, she is not a singer who often appears on TV. Many Korean fans cheered when they heard that she would participate as a panelist in the Begin Again program.
In this program, it's street busking, so it's a slightly lighter approach.
There are already a lot of outstanding performances of her. The stages of intimacy that are easier to approach than overwhelming feelings.
I recommend Misty on the Begin Again program.

Oh her performance here was nothing short of brilliant. I definitely teared in the beginning and the quiet sections. Theres a journey we go through in her music where we hear her give something of herself emotionally through these vocal notes that tells a story of her lonely journey that ultimately leads to her triumph and continued blessings in God and in everyone she meets along the way. Fantastic video. I also like seeing the audience reactions as well - its a great gauge of her artistry.
Kim Sohyang = 42 years and a cancer survivors she know the dark places when she sang about it. She also Christain and begun as a gospel singer, she teaches music and arranged all her songs by herself, Voice range=B3-H6.Many consider her the best female singer in the world. She is well known that she threw her high notes when you less expected.
Supremely gifted, beautiful and nothing but class... never will you see skimpy clothing or nasty language. She needs none of that. She gets up on stage, opens her mouth and just tells the story. Stunning.

When I watched this performance for the first time about a year ago,
Ali I could say was 'Wow, OMG, Holy Shxt'.. and after couple of minutes, I just kept my mouth shut and watched her in awe.
What a powerful and moving performance. Truly one of the greatest singer alive and for what I hear one of the nicest human being.

Lyric in Korean doesn't show any christian message. But English part was partially quated from psalm 23:4 with only a word replced.This is a only song with message from scripture making it true Gospel song.

Many like her for her dominance in the upper register and I’d be lying If that’s not one of the reasons I’m a fan but what makes me keep coming back to her and looking her up atleast once every day for new releases, is her incredible ability to emote and get the message of the song across.
She’s probably the only artist that consistently makes me feel vulnerable on 95% of her performances.
Something about the combination of her story, the way she carries herself onstage and offstage, her mastery over her voice and her overall image as an artist, all-together makes it such that I just can’t seem to keep my defences up from the moment she starts singing. And that almost hopeless level of vulnerability as if standing naked, with my heart bared out, actually makes me give up the superficial resistance and just let her voice take me wherever it wishes to, depending on what the song is about and how she interpreted it.
I’m normally very reserved and I strive to remain in control of myself as much as possible, and feeling vulnerable is something I would always choose to avoid. But for some reason, the vulnerability I feel from her music makes me feel relaxed, like I’m floating in a stream beyond my control but I subconsciously know its safe and the current is peaceful.
Its a weird contradictory feeling but that’s the main reason I love her performances coz in that state I don’t even need to try as I end up naturally resonating with everything she’s singing about.
This is also why she inspires me not just as an artist, but as a person. No matter how amazing of an actor she might be, I really don’t think anyone can fake it to that level if they don’t have it in them or if she didn’t go through everything she went through to be where she is today.
I write poetry and songs as a hobby, and I hope to someday be able to do even a fraction of what she does to me, to someone even just once.

I consider So Hyang to be the type of artist that do it for much more than just entertaining and I feel that reactors who can truly appreciate her, are also those who are here for more than simply reacting.
And in the thousands of reactions I’ve watched of her, its always been the case that the more knowledgable and mature of a listener the reactor is, the more they tend to appreciate her and what she is doing.

She's said in interviews that she prepared for and gave the performances on Immortal Songs and Masked Singer as if it was the last time she'd ever be on stage. She's said it was very difficult to find spots for proper breathing for Everyone and that is likely the reason she's never performed this song again. You should definitely try to do something from her run on Begin Again which include lower intensity arrangements of I Will Always Love You, I Won't Give Up and an absolutely stunning version of Misty. Let me thank you for your thoughtful and sincere reaction. Sohyang's rendition of "Everyone" indeed is not for every singer, and I don't think it's for every listener either. I often refrain from recommending this performance to those who just learned about Sohyang, since the experience can be too overwhelming for those unprepared. I still find myself get choked up when Sohyang went a capella i towards the end even though I have watched this innumerable times befoe. Appreciate your mentioning breath control and stamina in your reaction. These two aspects are not often noted when reactors comments on this stage.
Your statement about Sohyang putting her heart in it highlights the reason Sohyang is such a special singer. All her skills serve as instrument to deliver the emotional message to those receptive to its healing and encouragement. While keeping her performances secular to reach the most audience, Sohyang is most powerful and determined offering the message of faith.

You summed it up nicely, Sohyang is the complete package. This performance demands a lot of stamina, as you quickly figured out. Just listening to her already made me run out of breath, I can't imagine having to sing it in person. Yet, she maintains proper techniques while pouring all the emotion through all that. Like you, I find it a real treat to review Sohyang performances over and over, because she does a lot of tiny subtle tricks that are often missed during the first viewing, or first two, or first dozen. 😁

I'm a stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma of the neck survivor and a studio engineer. She brings tears to my eyes every time I hear her. Not just wet eyes but streaming tears. I know that lonely place. Over the course of a year I lost 110 lbs and almost nobody came to see me. They later told me they thought I was dying and didn't know what to say. It was the loneliest time of my life.
So sorry to hear about your tragic experience. I can't begin to imagine what that must've been like. I wish I could've been there. I would've visited you and tried to encourage you. We all need that support and love in our lives. That is part of why I do my reactions. I'm not sure if you've ever watched to the end of any of them. But, I say and I genuinely mean it that "you all need to know that you are loved, you are special and you can accomplish your dreams." I hope that you can know that and feel that about yourself and have hope in your heart. She is queen.. she is both powerful at techniques and also emotion. Her life is so inspirational.. she is devout christian singer who really more like singing to God more than fame/money which make us not much seen her on media/tv in korea even the world stage though she is worldclass singer vocalist ever!! Yet we can ussually see her more often her singing in chtuch or charities. She won from faught with cancer and kept her singing didnt give up in her illness. She is cancer surviver.and to sohyang, her goal is to use her voice to comfort people who are going through difficult times as she been through, these why ppl are emotionally in touch whenever she sing a song....
Although I'm not a singer, I feel the word she said hit singer's heart a lot, you all share the same connection to audience and fans, this is the only reaction I saw you trying to hold your feeling of joy, good job SingerDad.

She took the word death out, and the translation changed from rod and staff to Cane, when she sang, I will Be Your Cane. "I" and all of those "I am"s means God.
people have no idea some of English part was quoted from psalm23:4 . I am glad you point that out . A direct message from scripture that he will be with us with his peace and comfort us if we trust in him.i hope people get this.

And yet just a few days ago she sang a truly beautiful and soft low Ella Fitzgerald 2 and half minutes, 'Misty' in a park, at night, with some other pro singers, who were all shaking their heads at how good it was. Sadly the video is not available as yet now. She has sung the song before, but this performance as by far the best, I downloaded it straight away, and have watched it many times already, it was just as Perfect as you could get. This woman is just a master musician.

You were absolutely right. This was a beautiful experience. This may sound weird, but I didn't realize until most of the way through the song that she was singing in 2 languages. I was doing something while the video was on, so I didn't see the subtitles until I sat down. That performance transcends language barriers.

First of all, Im sorry about my poor English. However, I, at this moment really wanna thank you to react this video. - This song is not my favorite Sohyang's song because this song always make me cry like a baby. because of that, sometimes its really make me hard to handle my emotion especially when Im drunken like today. It's been a long day now is over 2AM in South Korea.
We all need to have a friend who can be with me whatever the situation we facing on. I think we all at least want to have kind of those friends but also know that it is not that simple and easy . So as time goes by and getting old and older, we just agree that those friends are only exists in our fantasy. And then we passively deal with ourselves.
Whenever I listen the song, I dream that I will have my eternal friend, eternal song and... the everyone. But when I get back to the social, then I realize again that It was a dream. Sometimes I wanna give up and just being a part of the social like a social cogwheel. And it sounds sweet to me. However every time when I listen this song again, I start dreaming again and it gives me hope and pain at the same time. But I know that is not that bad for me. Perhaps what I need is be strong and stand against the situation that tries to makes me neutered me.
