- This week we drop anchor in San Pablo Bay at China Camp State Park! 🌊⚓ We explore the museum and hidden coves of this historic park, known for its rich maritime history and scenic beauty. We also manage to grab some lunch at the local golf course.
After a few days at China Camp we head to San Francisco Bay. Even though the winds were light, we managed to get in a little sailing. Then we drop anchor in the enchanting waters of Aquatic Park Cove while we wait for parts for our autopilot. 🌊⚓ Aquatic Park Cove is an urban oasis, nestled against the iconic San Francisco skyline. From the famous Ghirardelli Square to the vintage maritime museum and the Marina District, discover the unique charm that makes Aquatic Park Cove a must-visit destination for boating enthusiasts.
While waiting for our autopilot part, we completed the initial commissioning of our watermaker. Yes, the water in San Francisco Bay wasn't the best, but the water we made was delicious.

We’re Jeni and Rich. We’re really just a couple of average Joes. In a nutshell we met and married in our early 20s; I graduated from college in my late 20s; adopted two cats and a dog in the late 90s; sold a house and bought a new house in our mid 30s; then sold the new house and moved onto a sailboat in our early 40s. In between all that we had a bunch of fun like camping, scuba diving, watching hockey games (Go Red Wings!), concerts, traveling, spear fishing, restoring a 1963 Chevy II Nova; spending time with family and friends. A few years ago we decided to lay off all the fun-having to fix up this old boat. We figure if we put our noses to the grindstone for a few years, we’ll be able to travel for a few years and do all the fun things we’ve missed.

You know when the boat anchored next to you dump their tanks. The water gets warmer and you see corn floating. I’d still drop a a teaspoon of bleach in the water tank or use your filter system.

We love the headsets. It makes a huge difference when anchoring, docking and even if one of us needs to go forward when we're sailing.
@@svrambleon What brand are they…. I was trying to convert some light weight Aviation headsets I have. But they don’t work very well. LOL
The brand is Sena and we bought them from Cruising Solutions. You may be able to get them on Amazon too.

The brand is Sena. We bought them from Cruising Solutions. We love them. They’re great for anchoring, docking, or if one of us needs to go forward at night or when sailing. We even use them when we get diesel. The Tank Tender gauge is down below so one person reads the gauge while the other one mans the pump.
