    I like watching the fish hide as you work around them. They are cute.
    Also this video makes it very clear which of your helpers like to stand around and watch.

    Γεια σου φιλε πανο! Πολυ ωραια δουλεια εκανες! Εγω πριν εφτα χρονια ειχα δυο χρυσοψαρα αλλα σαν μικρο παιδι που ημουν τοτε τα ειχα σε μια πλαστικη γυαλα .Οταν ενημερωνομουν σιγα σιγα πως δεν ζουν σε γυαλα τα βαλαμε σε μια πλαστικη δεξαμενη των 1000 λιτρων και απο τοτε μεχρι σημερα εχω φτασει τα 18 χρυσοψαρα παραγωγης μου. Το θεμα ειναι πως θελω να τους φτιαξω κατι πιο στο φυσικο τους περιβαλλον και να ειναι και πιο ωραιο οπτικα σαν το δικο σου. Να φανταστεις ουτε φιλτρο δεν τους εχω.

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  8 лет назад

      +antonis180 Ευχαριστώ για τα καλά σου λόγια. 1000λτ για χρυσόψαρα είναι παράδεισος. Αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι δεν χρειάζονται φίλτρανση. Φαντάζομαι ότι άνοιξη & καλοκαίρι θα γίνεται πράσινη η λίμνη και ο πυθμένας δεν θα φαίνεται. Από φυτά ο πάπυρος είναι εύκολος, απορροφάει αρκετά νιτρικά και αν είσαι Αθήνα μπορώ να σου δώσω. Μπορείς να βάλεις μια αντλία (3000λτ/ώρα έχει ~60€ στα petcity) και ένα δοχείο(40-60λτ) με 1-2 10λτ τσουβάλια ελαφρόπετρα για να φτιάξεις την φίλτρανσή σου. Έτσι είχα την 1η μου λίμνη.

    • @antonis180
      @antonis180 8 лет назад

      +Panos Chalk Ναι οντως το νερο εχει γινει ηδη καταπρασινο και δεν φαινεται τιποτα αλλα δεν θελω να φτιαξω γι αυτο φιλτρανση οσο για τα νιτρικα και την αμμωνια που θα υπαρχει μεσα στο νερο. Πηγα στα pet city και μου ειπαν μονο για 800λιτρο φιλτρο κοστους 330 ευρω και για περισσοτερα λιτρα παμε πιο ψηλα.. (εφυγα εννοειται απογοητευμενος).απο φυτα εχω δυο γλαστρες με νουφαρα στον πατο και θα με ενδιεφερε πολυ η προταση σου για τον παπυρο! Μενω Αθηνα στο Ηρακλειο

    I don't think you left enough liner on the outside, we used boulders to hold down our liner. Did you measure to make sure the pond was level ? It was sure fast...... What did you do with the dirt afterwards ????

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  10 лет назад

      * Instead of boulders, I used bricks. The extra liner outside the pond was not cut. It was placed under the bricks.
      * The pond was not level :( I had to put some of the dirt under the outside liner in order to level it.
      * This video took my one month.
      * The dirt inside the black bags was through away. The dirt inside “alpha block” was made a waterfall. The first blue barrel (150lt) has brushes and Japanese matting. The second blue barrel (200lt) has 50 liters of Kaldnes K1 media and 25 liters of crystal bio.

  • @Elliandr
    @Elliandr 8 лет назад

    Very nice setup, although I'm curious: Why didn't you use an aquarium substrate for the aquatic plants? Wouldn't that have given you a more natural looking setting? Or would that have introduced some problem?

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  8 лет назад +2

      Thank you :)
      Do you mean to use an aquarium substrate in all the pond instead of flower pots? With flower pot it is easier to maintain them. If you put KOI, rocks & aquarium substrate in all the pond it won;t be easy to clean your pond. The "dirt" of KOI will go to the bottom and will create bad bacteria for your fish. It is easier to do it with goldfish, since they doing produce so much dirt and flower will do more good, than bad.

    That's an awfully big pond for 2 fish. Nice to see you put under layment down before your pond liner. Smart move some ppl don't. Although I did not see any kind of pump to bio filter or algae kill light. How are you going to handle that part?

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  6 лет назад

      Those fishes are KOI fish and they need space. Now i have added more fishes. I had a pump 6000lt/h with two filters. 120lt mechanical filter and 200 biological filter. I have it here, but it is not translated to English, sorry ruclips.net/video/fJgyKcWzxbs/видео.html

    • @chalkiop

      I calculated first the left square. then the right square and the middle square. Moreover, i have a step at 20cm. Thus, first i had to calculate this volume and then the volume of the total depth. Finally add all those volumes :)

      Panos Chalk I went to the shop and they only recommended me canvas. I have no idea if you know about this. I am worried that it can be toxic to fish. So i am still in hesitation. They seem not to know what pond liner is. For your info, i am from asia. I may try going for canvas. If so, what do you suggest? And i want to tell you that, your job is fast and nice! :)

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  10 лет назад

      lngkksng I didn’t know about canvas, until I saw on Google that you can buy aqua canvas in order to hold your fish. I don’t know if the one that you found is toxic or not toxic for your fish. Why don’t you try, to buy from eBay, pond liner/aqua canvas in order to be 100% sure that it is safe for fish?

    I'd love to know how you moved those big ass bags of dirt, those had to be a couple hundred pounds each.

      You are correct. I couldn't move them. I had to transfer them again into smaller bags and then move them. I should have make one video only with that

    how long it will hold since u only using a plastic to cover at the bottom? and what kind of plastic do you use?

    • @chalkiop
      @chalkiop  5 лет назад

      This plastic is called "liner". The liner was created in order to be used on ponds. It has thickness +1mm. The manufacturer has given 40 years warranty. If you want to use it for a long period it is better to put sand, then underliner and then liner.
