Yeh . I have to agree . Nice to see the real you Dan . Things or shiii happens . I can't say I did not giggle . 🙄 but . Glad you did not get hurt just shocked 🖒
Now THAT is an effective efficient setup! Small footprint, simple and easy peasy to use. Very high recovery rate too, it seems. Thanks for the demo, Dan.
Love your show. In 1948 I was 6yrs old living just out of Hope B.C. I was living at a Motel or Auto Court. There was a person from California staying in another cabin there. He was panning for gold from Calif. on his way to Alaska. I went over and watched him but he chased me away as he was doing some concentration of the day's find. the next day in the morning I went out to the roadside to catch the bus to school. On the ground was a Cigar box that had a bunch of tubes in it.. I ran back and left it at my home. When I got home I found out that he had left it on the running board of his car and it had fell of when he left. There were about 15 or more test tubes fulll of varying coarseness of gold. He left me a hug reward of a 50 cent piece.
For ease of use, effectiveness, And just plain fun; the Gold Hog Multi Sluice is without parallel. Probably the best gold equipment purchase that I’ve ever made! Enjoyed the show!
Nice.Run it a few more times and most of the black will go away only takes a couple minutes. At the end of the season I dump the whole works into the blue bowl.for a couple hours. This does 2 things gets rid of the pesky fine black and what still shows as black is usually platinum dust.Impossible too separate unless you can melt over 3000 degrees. At 2200 hundred degrees I find the platinum will separate into tiny little balls very tiny.Have fun Mark.
I just recently found your channel Dan, and Im so glad I did. Im in the Navy and far away from my family and my home, where I grew up gold panning. Seeing the beautiful river and trees and high banking and panning really makes me feel good inside for the next time I get to see some color in the pan for myself. Thank you for brightening my day!
2:10 is now on my favourite all time blooper list, the look on your face was priceless. Thank you for the giggles, smiles and another wonderful video. Looking forward to your next adventure. ❤️ a Saskatchewan fan.
In my younger days I was a mineral and fossil collector, but not for years. I find your channel to be very relaxing and it seems to soothe my mood. Thanks for sharing with us.
Dan, ".... I may not have thought this through enough ... " your good humor is infectious - love it. Great music selection for the video, so I was just wondering the next time that you do a cleanup for Mike and Pete, if they would consider doing a short jig in the next cleanup video for us to the tune of similar music? Appreciated your methodical approach and all the tips you gave for the proper techniques i.e proper way to removing the mats, using the constrictor tube for the lower profile mat , slowing the feed rate for the lower profile mat, etc - all very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
How did I miss this one? Glad I found it! I think it was because April 2020 was a bit of a blur with both my husband and I losing our jobs, deaths in the family, etc., etc. However, now I am back in the family home in Maine and can't wait to test out my Christmas present - a metal detector!
Hey Dan ! I just LOVED the music that you used in this video ! ( Also... the hot rock " Oh S#!% ! " was funny ! ) YOU are my " default relaxation " youtube content. I work long and arduous hours, night after night, at a hospital as a nurse's aid. Your videos have been a Godsend of catharsis and therapeutic relaxation. Thank you Sir, for the hard work that you do, making these videos.
2:08 Just because ive never heard you swear this has officially been the funnies thing ive seen all day And ive seen some funny stuff today Thank you Dan!
Highly recommend gold hog highbanker raptor 2.0 full kit. You get that cleanup sluce your using and the flow pan! Will not find a better one out there! 2 guys 2 shovels feeding it non stop! It can take almost any kind of material quickly. Shale ( or flat thin rock) is about the only material I classify before running. Nothing but yellow smiles in your pan Dan! Waving Helloooo from Redding California!
I've recently been looking at approximately how much gold you'd need to make a 24k wedding-band-type ring ... and the answer seems to be between 3 and 10 grams, depending upon the size and the width of the band you wanted. So your results on this video would be more than enough to make at least one (possibly two) rings out of! That's amazing!
I sympathize with you on the heart problems, Dan. I have diastolic dysfunction which means my heart doesn't relax properly. Everything is fine... until it isn't. Makes gardening and rock hunting so MUCH fun!
Glad to see I'm not the only one LOL. I learned the same way you did about using heated rocks as a Boy Scout back in the early 60's. They stay hot a lot longer than you would think. Great video, Dan. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Just love the beauty of our wilderness areas, soothes the soul, even more in this troubled times we are in. Thanks Dan for the adventure and the breakdown of your new toy and keep an eye on your heart, until next time!
The raptor is great. My friend has one. I have the piglet and going to order the raptor flare extension for it with the clay claw as well and run it on gas.
Great video Dan watched ep 01 before this one excellent review of the multi sluice . I am actually planning on purchasing one to add to the bottom of my 7 stack gold cube while running beach sand material. he sand here in Washington is 20 minus and the flour gold here is 30 minus to sub 100 very fine. The gold cube dose a really good job catching about 90% the first run with the multi sluice I should capture around 98% the first run. Thanks again for the demo happy hunting.
That was a very informative video Dan! In Washington we have small gold here(in most places that is) so that will help in selecting the right mat and sluice! Nice gold!
I do similar work but use VEE Matting - works fine - and a helluvalot cheaper than buying 2 lots of hog matting. Just throw the cons in - run as many times as you like - much much easier to clean the mat and set up for the next run.
Doing a great job Mr. Dan Hurd ... I think your well on your way to being able to retire from your teaching job in the next two to three years I'd say in order to be safe about it lol... Your very professional and you make great programming , keep up the great work. Stay humble my friend . It serves you well. Joe C. From eastern Kentucky U.S. where there is no gold at all of any kind endless it's pulled from a random very rare chunk of iron pyrite ...yep that's right barely even any fools gold here. About 3 counties on northern border have minute flour gold but you'd have to work one month to get few two or 3 grams lol...it's not worth it.maybe I'll take a vacation an come up your way..take it easy on your ticker an keep up awesome programs ..it really brightens my day
Railways use steel pails for some of their supplies might be useful to have something you can set directly on the fire to thaw instead of heating rocks
