I like how the characters weren't too overpowered like in most animations. Since in the games their powers are very inconsistent. Sometimes they can survive a giant fall from the atmosphere to the ground and get up relatively unharmed while some times they can barely pack a punch because of plot.
But they really are overpowered I mean Mario is consistently powerful the tennis court blast. outrunning black holes some how beating ghosts up somehow .kicking castles and dragging gold chain chomp around

Putting the emphasis on the 'friendly' part of their friendly rivalry, rather than battles to the death. That alone made me love this above many other battles between these two. Everything else was a very welcome and major bonus.
This sprite battles never get tiring, the battle was so good. I'm not sure if it was voice acting, but if it was, it was really good, and how Sonic roasted Eggman, really made me laugh. I wish they could make some type of crossover besides Olympics. That would be pretty amazing. Keep up the work dude.
One thing I like about this animation is the contrast between the two character's fighting styles. Sonic with his superior speed is always the first to strike and is all about quick, aggressive, and powerful attacks like fire bending. Mario may be physically inferior but he knew how to counter it. He knows he can't match Sonic's speed so he always waited for Sonic to make the first move like earth bending. If you pay attention most of the time Mario starts his combos start with a block. with Sonic in close proximity Mario can unleash his fury. Nice attention to detail
@ZXA Sorry, but I disagree and think your incorrect. Sonic’s punching power and arm strength are inferior to mario. Play Mario 64 for example, he is able to punch, and damage literal spirits , (boos) giant bricks, in Super Mario RPG he punches through metal as well, his physical strength is much more consistent. This is shown in their stats being compared in their Olympic spin offs with Mario having more strength. Mario has shown more impressive strength feats than Sonic. Sonic just beats mario because of his ungodly speed. So Mario’s superior physical strength doesn’t matter because of this. Same thing with knuckles, he’s physically stronger but Sonic’s superior speed is why he wins. Mario is also more experienced and has fought just as many, deadly threats as Sonic has. Mario has reactionary feats to speed because he can dodge , and combat reality warpers and ancient demons which are basically Gods in Mario’s world. Culex, The Shadow Queen, Dreamy Bowser, Antasma, Dimentio, Bowser himself, where all Galactic, Universal, Worldly threats. The guy has overpowered many villains. He has done this with his brother before, and with his allies, but alot of the time it’s Mario and Luigi’s own strength. Sonic uses the chaos emeralds , and his own power when fighting powerful beings , so similarly, Mario use the pure hearts, which greatly outclass the chaos emeralds in terms of variety of f abilities. I consider Paper Mario the same as Mainline Mario personally, Ik it had a cross over with Mario and Luigi, but Paper Mario and Our Mario are the same character in my eyes. In my opinion, Mario is a better character and series, but I see why Sonic wins. He’s a lot like Mario but with slightly less strength , power ups and experience but way more Speed and Agility.

But as for physicality that is so wrong on so many levels that I wonder if you even know who Mario is? As a Sonic fan, you should also know that a video game can not capture lighting fast speed, so what if that Hat wasn’t slowly moving towards Mario as seen in the cutscene? It looked really fast to me, and it probably caught Mario off guard. He probably stared at it because he didn’t expect bowser to throw his top hat at him. Mario also dodged bowser’s attacks with jumps , which you missed when watching the cutscene. Sonic’s strength comes from his speed. He is able to punch and kick stuff like robots because he is moving at an insanely high speed towards them, and that acceleration gives him his power. If he’s not running and walks up to something and punches it, he’ll fail to do much damage. But Mario on the other hand doesn’t need speed to have strength , he does it regardless of the speed he moves at. Mario outclasses Sonic in physcial strength by a wide, massive margin. If it came down to strength he’d tear him limb from limb if he wasn’t a good person and they fought to the death. It would be a blood bath of blue quills flying in the air.

youve really come a long way. I like the ending. most sprites usually just end the fight but the fight ended with them being partners for a common goal.
loved this little animation............... nothing too flashy, just a friendly sparring match between 2 pals, and the fact that no "power ups" (i.e chaos emeralds, light speed dash, fire flower or anything of that sort) were used made it all the more enjoyable

Bro This Is The Best And Most Realistic Mario And Sonic Sprite Battle I've Ever Seen! Not Only Because They Both Spared Each Other In The End, But Also Because This Might Not Be One Of Those Battles That Can Hurt A Lot (what i mean is that this fight can probably be a friendly battle or a training fight to test their own strengths and weaknesses). Another Things I Love About This Is That They Show Their Own Personalities And The Friendly Way They Communicate Each Other, Which Is A Thing They Canonically Do When They Meet Up! :)
My favorite part is that they planned this fight based on how Sonic acts when Mario shows up. It feels more human than Mario folding him into a beach chair and smacking him because Sonic was doing a little tease.

I’m glad you enjoyed that. At first, I was going to make a follow up to this, but I’ve thought of another project that I’d much rather take on after this. Maybe I’ll revisit this storyline in the future though :)

I also loved the animation. But I felt like the fight was one sided. Sonic almost used him as a punching bag. I'm not mad and I don't want to start a war but honestly I think Mario could have done more than that. Still a good animation tho.

The ending is what did it for me. Love the freeze frame episode feel effect which is something I don't see alot and makes your style unique. This was my first time coming across your work great first impression and hope to see more of your work.
Finally an animation where Sonic doesn't kill Mario and vice versa every time I watch a Sprite battle between these two Mario ends up killing Sonic or Sonic ends up killing Mario and that's not how these characters do they don't just take somebody's life that's not them this is way more accurate to how the fight should be you did a great job by the way I like the voice for Sonic and Eggman also where did that Metal Sonic sprite come from?

And it doesn't matter if the Olympic Games aren't canon, it is in character for them to be friendly and become friends when they do meet.

When The Franchise extended started playing, I immediately liked the video. Plus it perfectly fit the entire fight when it came to duration. Your animation was gold (too bad Mario lost, but hey, at least they were fighting 100 % friendly).

Bro This Is The Best And Most Realistic Mario And Sonic Sprite Battle I've Ever Seen! Not Only Because They Both Spared Each Other In The End, But Also Because This Might Not Be One Of Those Battles That Can Hurt A Lot (what i mean is that this fight can probably be a friendly battle or a training fight to test their own strengths and weaknesses). My favorite part is that they planned this fight based on how Sonic acts when Mario shows up. It feels more human than Mario folding him into a beach chair and smacking him because Sonic was doing a little tease.

The ending is what did it for me. Love the freeze frame episode feel effect which is something I don't see alot and makes your style unique. This was my first time coming across your work great first impression and hope to see more of your work.

Finally an animation where Sonic doesn't kill Mario and vice versa every time I watch a Sprite battle between these two Mario ends up killing Sonic or Sonic ends up killing Mario and that's not how these characters do they don't just take somebody's life that's not them this is way more accurate to how the fight should be you did a great job by the way I like the voice for Sonic and Eggman also where did that Metal Sonic sprite come from?
