You know, the way you make Sonic fight is how I think he SHOULD be fighting, especially in these sprite battles. Constantly abusing his speed in every single attack possible and speed-chaining combo's. He'd actually be MASSIVELY scary to fight when you watch him this way.
Excellent fight animation! Though my only gripe with it is I hoped the two would be a bit more evenly matched, since this is the first time they fought each other. All in all, great sprite work and animation, and I hope to see more!
Not only are his animations good, but his power scaling was good, we all know Sonic can beat Knuckles easily, but it showed how kind and playful Sonic is, while knuckles was actually trying to hurt him bad. Sonic is just like Goku its amazing.

i personally think knuckles would be able to destroy sonic in any fight other than a race, despite being strong as sonic is fast. knuckles has the ability to lift and break 220,000 pounds, so sonic would literally explode or simply shatter if trying to block knuckles attacks. the only way sonic would logically win is to not take any hits, and to spin-dash knuckles repeatedly until he passed.
It was well animated but you just made Sonic stomp Knuckles, it definitely didn't feel like a competition. More could have been done to show off Knux’s abilities and superior hand-to-hand combat skills.
MunkyBoi SSB depends on how good of a player you are, and the ai is kinda lacking. I think the controllable Knuckles could curb stomp Sonic just as easily.
MunkyBoi SSB Well in the classical sense, they’re all supersonic speed in base. I too think Sonic could pull the win but he shouldn’t be winning the close quarters moments. Just saying it would be more of a fight with both showing off their respective traits and powers.
This is cool and the coreography is nice, but Knuckles punches going through Sonic's guard would have been much more in character and actually force Sonic to respect Knuckles "Strengths" (Get it?). That would have been the level of polish needed to really stand out further (Or at least hide the Sonic bias)

Knuckles is more heavily built so he would be more durable to taking hits but the downside of being stronger is he’s more heavier than Sonic so his attacks would be slower. Sonic would have to wear Knuckles out before being able to beat him. Sonic would also have to keep an eye on the ground just in case Knuckles digs underground. So with all that it would be quite hard to say who would win.
So your just gonna ignore how they heavily nerfed knuckles punches though? Realistically sonic would not be able to just block them without his arms being HUGELY injured.

The movie ran into the same problem where Knuckles strength was starting to cause problems for a more fairer matchup. So to make the second fight longer they had to downplay his reaction speed (not just punch Sonic away in the arm clash) or have him move his attention to the Master emerald and not follow up with his first punch so Sonic could do his spindash move. Think about it, if Knuckles kept hitting Sonic and if he kept getting up then I'll downplay the power of his punches. Knuckles suffers from the classic powertype trope which unfortunately effects the majority of strength characters.
