I've always been a fan of sonic more so then mario, just liked the games more, honestly im not even upset in the slightest about the outcome of the fight, im just impressed with the quality of the animation more then anything.

In my opinion this battle has been overdone and honestly has gotten boring, the only thing interesting about is the fanboy war that happens.
I really like this one. I like it a lot. Sonic is fast and his combos are fast. Mario is slower, but you can feel the power behind each hit. There's something so authentic about it. I will never tire of watching that "No more playing around!" part in particular.
Goes to show that, if Mario is *THAT* powerful, then you can see the seriousness of the threat that Bowser poses...and he's been at it for almost 3 decades.
I think a better conclusion to the fight would have been if Sonic verbally acknowledged that Mario was much tougher than he seemed, and Mario helps him back up, and BOTH go to find where Peach was taken (IF Peach was in fact abducted, that is). I really can't jive with a "last man standing/one to rule them all" kind of rivalry when it comes to Mario and Sonic.

As you see, Mario knows pretty much hand-on-hand combat and he has his Firebrand as his powers. Sonic's speed and spindash are his powers as well. This fight was fair and okay for me. @@floatingf8783 if it had power ups, it would be in Mario’s favor since he has a much much wider variation of powerups. Transformations however I think is when sonic takes the cake. However due to recent games giving Mario a pretty godlike transformation, I’d say it goes either way. Both fighters are still incredible and way more even than most people claim.

I really dont like Sonic’s portrayal. Don’t get me wrong, I love the animation, and the start for this one is definitely the best one yet (compared to Death Battle’s lackluster one). However, the way Sonic insults Mario about his job of saving Princess Peach is just really out of character (even for MarioVsSonic 90s rivalry standards). I also don’t like Mario’s aggressiveness towards Sonic. Don’t get me wrong, even I will be annoyed if someone insulted me about my job, but this is just a running theme on the Mario animations department where everyone pretty much just accepted Matpat’s theory on Mario. And I don’t. Like. It.

Ultimate Sonic95 you see, Mario was always going to win the one minute melee. Sonic one in the death battle and tails beet Luigi in the one minute melee. So just for fairness they made Mario win. Honestly I don't really care though, I think both Mario and sonic are boring characters, I'm just here for sans vs bill cipher.

With Items Mario stomps badly. Mario's RPG world has some broken ass Items like Star Rod, Chaos Hearts, Pure Hearts, and many more. But on base states Sonic is superior. Only thing he outmatched Sonic in is Jump and Strength. Sonic is more durable and fast.

Mario lost to Sonic in the Death Battle (I already know that Mario already won in Mario vs Sonic 2018), Luigi lost to Tails in both the Death Battle and One Minute Melee, Bowser lost to Ganondorf(I know he's not Sega, but still) in the Death Battle, and Wario lost to Knuckles in the One Minute Melee. Is that not enough?! It's boring afh to have Sonic characters win against Mario characters all the time across the Internet. If you're an actual fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, then you should be able to tolerate Sonic losing a couple of times to Mario. I'm sick and tired of you guys constantly downplaying the Super Mario franchise.
