he still has biases and emotions, so do all people with autism, he just has an issue with expressing those emotions that logic comes instead from his savant syndrome
@klibe I figured his sauvantism came from the medicle analysis and memory of every detail. Also yes autistic people do express differently have same emotions, but I'd like to add, have no filter, hence the bluntness. 😊
I would imagine that someone who can't really lie and who is extremely blunt would be helpful in making life and death decisions because you know they're not leaving them off of their feelings at all
No, us autistic people can lie and I definitely have. I think Shaun just struggles with it, because it just causes distress and doesn't make sense to him. So he chooses not to lie. Us autistic people aren't little babies.

As a NICU nurse, I must say that a baby, whose heart condition is so severe and will definitely die without an immediate heart transplant, will not be active and looking pink like that baby Jack. He/she will be highly likely very pale/cyanotic from inadequate oxygen distribution, intubated to help with oxygen intake, and sedated to prevent pulling of any medical devices. -_-
sure but the baby in the show is an actor who is likely very healthy you wouldnt put a healthy baby through all that to make a tv show medically accurate would you? also from what i can tell that baby also isnt in a picu or nicu
Ideally yeah, but this is also a television show and they are likely not going to swatch up a random baby with makeup and practical effects just make it slightly more realistic.
I think sean in incapable of picking a case based of sympathy. Which is what you need. Jack may not have been waiting as long but he needed it faster... It's just the fact of the matter. Painful. Difficult decision to make
That’s why these decisions do not go to the treating physicians and they are made by an unbiased organization and an algorithm based on the available information. The treating physician basically only decides if the patient is stable enough to undergo a transplant and discusses these things with the family. That’s why there’s a transplant list
The heart rightfully goes to whom ever was registered on that transplant list 1st. Doctors need to put their shit together and do whats right. Thats why there is rules and regulations. Also i have no context of the video so im not talking about it. In just saying in general.
That is incorrect. Anytime an organ becomes available, there are discussions over who should receive it. Being first on a list does not make you the best candidate for the transplant. They decide by who has less time left, who will die without it and who can wait, and who has the best chance of making it thru the surgery and not rejecting the transplant.
You are wrong, so many things factor in For example if giving someone a heart gives them 3-5 years vs another it gives 10-15 it will go to the longer one
