I just want to say Dr. Hanson is the man. 100 on the midterm for the statics portion thanks to him. Got the final in mechanics of materials/statics in two weeks. This playlist has been extremely helpful. Thanks Dr. Hanson!
i believe in mohrs circle angles are different. If the angle change is given in the problem, it will be double in Mohr's Circle because theta = 2theta in mohrs circle. so you just multiply the "outside world" angle by 2 to get it into the "Mohr's Circle World"

Rotate the X Side to the plane… got it!
Love the videos Destin! hope the PhD is going smoothly.
Nice to see you here
Center is 6.5 ox’ = 1.188MPA , oy’ = 11.81 MPA
I just took 8ksi as 8mpa just to learn the content, I'll worry about metric vs standard when i need to
24:04 center is at 6.5. everything makes sense now 🤘 . I get how we find the rotation angles and what my Prof called the 'beta' angle.
was also confused for a minute until I looked at the comments to see if someone picked that up.
Yeah i also notice the center is wrong
Got me too there. Glad I checked comments
Exams tomorrow and just finished the practice problems. Dr. Hanson coming in clutch!
I feel like a class nerd again when replying super fast to Profesor Hanson's questions! Thanks!
I’m gonna buy the book for the years of help you have given best lecturer out there
i owe you my solid mechanics qualification thank you
Wonderful solids lessons!! really taking the time to explain the problems along with a good sense of humor :))
Wasted a lot of time listening to another prof trying to teach this. Now 11 years later, I am pretty sure I can do it every time.
Am I the only one not sold on the circle method? I feel like I would mess that up on a test lol
Center is at 6.5 for the last example.
evry time i havave a question i just comee to his videos.... great explantion sirr
at 27:00 how did we decide that tao is positive?
Jeff Hanson more like jeff Handsome 😍
the man. Thanks jeff.
BAMMM you are simply awesome.. Respect..
jeff you great man
Thank you sir!!!!
I need help why is the rotation angle 30 ? 60? etc rotation is my problem.

in some books y face is rotated could you please explain why is it so?
thank you om jeff
Can someone explain fr the last example how the x' is subtract with 5.31 ? I don't understand the x' but for the y' is got .
The distance of x’ (for the x face) from the origin of the planes is 7.5 minus the base of that triangle we found and that’s why we’re subtracting
you make it really funy to learn thanks
Second stress element I found centre = - 0.5
@Jeff help
thankz sir..
centre is at 6.5
Thanks
**Center 6.5 (3rd stress element)
u saved me😭
how does-3+2=5????
He's trying to find the center, so the amount of units from -3 to +2 is 5 units away.
i love you
