For the rebreather, you could even set it up to hook up to the sides of the helmet and actually use the vents in the back as air channels so it doesn't feel so restrictive!
Just noticed something you did but didn't mention and I feel like its a must for clear coats. I saw you did a "dust layer" of the clear. People, that is an absolute crucial step in applying clears! You never want to spray your clear on wet! Most issues people have with clears are they just shoot them on heavy and pay the consequences in the end! Great work on this Helmet bro!
10:41 that's about the color her body armor should be. So if someone's doing the armor as well they could just stop there for the body pieces then add more layers of red for the helmet and chest.
Thanks so much for this video I was surprised with a 3D printer as a gift and this was the first print that I needed to print in sections cause it's a ender 3. I followed your instructions and product suggestions and it came out AMAZING!! This was super helpful 👏🏾 👌🏾
Not only are your painting and building skills getting better, but your video production quality keeps improving as well. Your videos are on point with TESTED. Your editor (is it you?) Has been killing it lately. Also, the out take at the end might be my second favorite part of the video right behind the actual content.
Sir. You have no idea how much that means to me and my dedicated editor ( my wife) we’ve been managing and handling video edits much better now and she’s killing it
Holy crap!! Dude I didnt know that you could get a 3D print so polished! Seriously I bought a Samus helmet off Etsy it was $500 and it fell off my shelf and broke. :( And this one has lights and action looks SO SMOOTH. I also got 3 Power Ranger helmets and they were SO EXPENSIVE. I just bought a 3D printer now Im on my way to making all the props and helmets my heart desires!! Megaman X. Doom Guy! Im so excited thank you for the insparation.
That is SO COOL! It really does look amazing. Awesome job, Frank. With Samus' helmet now in the books, you're kind of obligated to make Link's Master Sword. Just kidding, you do you my dude 😂😂. Thanks for sharing and blessings!
This is honestly amazing work I personally like the dread helmet more than her other helmets. You should do one of Doom Slayers helmet from Doom Eternal or Master Chiefs helmet
Frank i Hope you see this because my fookos 3D printer stopped working and I have tried everything to get it fixed and even went down to the people that have made it and nothing seems to make it work again. So I would be very happy if you told me a different printer and you know for a fact that it works. Mad respect man keep doing what your doing I’m glad you have found your passion😌
I have to say, I love the Samus helmet the best over your other helmets. Just because I grew up with playing Metroid and beating the game!! Wooohooo. Not saying I don't care for a good Iron Man movie from time to time. Keep up the amazing work.
Mate this is fantastic. I will be working on this. I print little models for the kids and random tut i don't need mainly because i get scared of a power cut within the 3 day print lol But this is epic and I will be taking the chance!. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Amazing stuff.
Hey man, I'm a fan from BackyardNinjas, I just wanted to say I think it's amazing you've found success here and managed to do so much good. Much love and keep at it. It's crazy how time flies.
I saw and played the game and it is a masterpiece, great game, definitely recommend checking it out, you will love it. Great job with working on the helmet, looks exactly like the game!!!🔥🔥💯🎨
Hey man I love the video as always the hole tinting thing I was glad to hear you did 3 try’s cuz I have tinted my helmets and it’s difficult lol I even had my wife try which she did grate. It’s really the cheapest way to go if you can do it 👍👍🇨🇦 have a good one
Hi Frank. I wanted to see how you made the green visor for this helmet. I have a Vigilante helmet (from MAX series Peacemaker) with a dark red visor. I was wearing the costume when I saw you at SDCC last week! Anyway I did something similar to what you did. Traced out the 3D lens onto a plastic gel and glued it to the visor frame. It was barely held in because there isn't a large surface area to glue the visor to the frame. I ended up making a few spare visors in case the visor came off the frame. If I had a thicker visor it would be rigid and easier to attach to the frame. My idea was to cut out the visor in a thicker pexiglass and shaping it with a heat gun. This will be difficult to get right. So my question is, can you print a transparent visor with a resin printer? Have you ever tried it? I've seen a few videos which makes me think it's possible. I'm just not sure how transparent I can get it. I haven't taken the plunge into resin printing myself. P.S. I see that you applied a green film to the clear plastic sheet for your visor. Have you tried colored gels that are used for theater lighting? They are flexible like what you are using, but you can get them in many different colors. You can get an assortment of colors from Amazon to get the right shade. I used a green and red gel to get the color I wanted. Plain red was too light. Cheers mate!
another great video Frank. Have you ever printed any figurines or scaled statues? I'm actually working on a 1/3 scale IronMan from "Did3D" but I'm following your tutorials for all the painting. It was great to see the layering of the gold and then multiple red. How long did you wait for the gold to dry before applying the red on top? Curious your thoughts on a base of silver instead of gold. Another thing I noticed was that when you did the clear coat it almost seemed to have dulled it in the first layer but then the 2nd pass brought back the clarity and color.
i would love to see a printed green goblin helmet!! one from the sam raimi spiderman and now in spiderman nwh! i was telling my brother when i finally get a 3d printer ill be printing a ironman mk3 and mk85 helmet and the green goblin helmet! love the content keep it coming!
Frank I followed your tutorial and everything looked great but when I woke up today I noticed the paint had started cracking. Do you know why this could have happened?
@@FranklyBuilt I think you are right... I got a bit excited and impatient and applied the clear coat about an hour after the red. I just recently re-watched the part where you said you waited a couple days.... Ooops! :D
Frank, can you advise which scaling direction should be more taken into consideration, X or Y. I'm measuring on meshmixer the X distance and Y distance of the head opening and trying to decide if I should scale uniformly or scale individually?
Can you PLEASE make a video on best support settings for helmets, I own two Sidewinider X1s I only print large things like armor helmets etc. Printing supports for such large objects can make a print time go from a day to 4 days. I noticed in a lot of your videos you have minimal supports when I see unfinished projects. I would love to know how to accomplish that for fast printing armor (mainly helmets)
@@FranklyBuilt awesome! What about aorind servos too? Would that impair their movements and if you don't cover them would anything like longer hair get caught in them you think?
@@FranklyBuilt my bad, brainfarted for a sec😂 Forgot it wasn't an iron man helmet, but I meant to specify that I'm referring to helmets with servos, like an iron man one hahah
Question: How would you go about putting two smaller peices together with quite alot of detail? I looked at videos and the soldering iron looked best. However I dont want to damage the detail of the print.
For the rebreather, you could even set it up to hook up to the sides of the helmet and actually use the vents in the back as air channels so it doesn't feel so restrictive!
the Respirator is a great idea visually and also helps to not fog up the visor!

Yes you’re right! I’m so sorry I skipped that 🤦♂️
@@FranklyBuilt you’re good! Just wanted to point that out. I get asked frequently about my clear coat application.
THank you for pointing that out. I mentioned it in my other comment and was confused why. Now I will look up dust layer for clear!
@@offearth3d just to be clear... by "dust layer" you mean just do a very very light layer first? thank you
@@thecyberhobbit that is correct. Dust the entire piece, let it setup for about 5 minutes before you move to a wetter coat.
That respirator completes it! Great job.

Pretty sure I say this every time you make something new…but this is my favorite build yet! 🔥 🤤
Spot on 🔥🔥
Might try this method for my Mando cosplay. I was wanting to make a red visor that glows.

I’m going to get them to 3-D printing soon

If you connected the pipes from the mask to the actual respirator mask so you can breath through it would be cool with voice modification.
