I think I'll hit $1,000 a month in dividends in the middle of August. The snowball really starts to grow after that $100,000 mark.
Nice thats amazing! Yeah the $100K mark seems to be the general consensus. Looking forward to getting there 1 day.
@@JP_Dividends just a matter of time now.
Stop yappin buddy
Congrats
It's great to see numbers like these in just a few years. I started around the same time as JP and I made some mistakes (yield traps) also. I started with mostly index funds and ETFs and now focus more towards income investing (70%) and growth (30%). Stay consistent, and the increases will come. And I'm jealous of all those shares of VICI!
Nice! Sounds like you got a solid plan and the increases will be great for us long term. Thanks for the support!
I own mostly VOO, VUG, and SCHD as well as a handful of my favourites: Amazon, Walmart, Visa, CNQ, Tesla, and Eli Lilly.
Nice! Sounds like a great mix. Thanks for sharing!
Been dividend investing for 5+ years now, and I pretty much took the inverse route you did lol. Started off as a dividend growth investor, but I realized I wasn't as motivated by share price growth as I was yield. Switched to a more income focused strategy, and vested money into more CEFs, REITs, and BDCs. Takes a bit more knowledge to avoid the yield traps in these asset classes, but I'm definitely much happier with how I invest now as opposed to before.
Nice! Sounds like you have a solid plan that works for you👍
I'm 32 and only starting. Unsure whether it's too late or not to start with dividend growth stocks. Only got about $2500 and can afford to add about $200 per month.
You're not too late. Most important is to get started, identify your goal, and stick with it. May be bumpy along the way but well worth it! 👍
Its never too late to start! 32 gives you plenty of time. The next best time to start is now!
Never to late bro. No one thinks they should started later this journey. Go on and keep being consistent! Gl
I’m 33 and just started in March if that makes you feel better 😂
You have plenty of time. Tho i suggest to go with a non dividend strategy ETF like something based on the S&P 500 or MSCI World
I’ve been investing since 2018, but only been dividend investing about.. well this is my third year I think.
I wasted a lot of time changing styles, until I found out I was mentally most suited for the dividend style. Everything else, I found out that I’m simply too impulsive.
So yeah, some might say I wasted the first 3-4 years. I’d rather look it at, that I spent that time learning about investing and more importantly myself. I’m 37 now, so I’m not young nor am I old, so I’m glad I found something that works and is easy to track.
That's wonderful.
Nice! At least you found a style of investing that works well for you. Thats the most important thing long term. Thanks for sharing💰💪
Awesome to look back at where we started
Agreed 100%!
As always to reduce risk, its best to use stop limits even with dividend and growth stocks. Emotions always get ppl into trouble. Never hold any paticular stock as a never sell.
I don’t trade so I don’t use stop losses. If a business’ financials start taking a dump long term, then I sell. More of a long term investor.
Exxon mobile and pepsi and Chevron and Schd baby. All the way😮😮
Nice!💪👍
You are so relatable yet unique. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the support!
Great work, mate. Think where you'll be in 5 years! 💰
Thanks and agreed! Should be interesting to see!
Very reasonable portfolio for a divident strategy. In most cases Dividends = Money lost to opportunity cost.
Thanks and agreed!👍
Awesome, I’m learning!! What do you think about SPYI and QQQI?
This my 4 week trading and I’m hooked
Those are all solid picks
Thanks!👍
What type of account are these dividend stocks going into?
Most of these are in my brokerage but I hold all my REITs in my roth but also own SCHD, VOO, and COST in both accounts.
U may break 1200 this year $100 a month average a good milestone😊
@@justinshearer8180 thanks! based on the first half of the year I should be somewhere around $1400, I’m projected around $1,590 right now so just continually growing that right now.
@@JP_Dividends awesome
roth IRA or normal?
Most of these are in my brokerage but I hold all my REITs in my roth but also own SCHD, VOO, and COST in both accounts.
Just want to flex...I make atleast a dollar more in divdens over the last year.😅😅😅
Ayye better than $0!
I have invested so far just almost 4 years , I’m now age 50 and I remember my first dividend payment of .35
I now am getting in my portfolio just over $1200/ month with only $35,000 invested. I’m staying well diversified yet seeking consistent passive income to one day have enough to live my life and still have an exceeding amount to ensure that while I’m taking out some dividends for bills & life, that the majority of my portfolio will still remain to grow with other dividends.
Nice stuff! 💪
That’s over at 40% dividend yield if you doing one of those yield Max fund. You will be getting screwed.
