I chuckled when I read your comment. It’s so right. My ISFP 23-year-old daughter and I were talking (ENFP) last week and she said, “It’s more a reflection on them [certain acquaintances] how they view success. To me, it’s how I touch others and share my vision or, maybe, my gifts with them.” That’s just how she lives her life with her friends, family, causes and even acquaintances.

@@zenithgreyhatENTJ Exactly. ENTJs can be very giving and can actually be quite sympathetic towards others. My father was an ENTJ. I'm an INTP and while we always didn't see eye to eye and we often clashed he did care. ENTJ are often misunderstood. However I don't blame other types for not appreciating what they bring to the table. On the other side of being very giving they can also be absolutely ruthless in the pursuit of their goals which means cracking some eggs. It's this dichotomy that often leaves destruction in it's wake in regards to their intimate relationships with people.

My brother is an entj and he has two sides. This is VERY VERY accurate. This Is how he is with strangers and people he feels could benefit him. To family and close friends..you will see a VERY angry character and he can be very VERY pushy. Very very much up in your business and will tell you how much someone is a failure for not working smart.
As an estj, I feel like I’m the opposite. I am super nice with my loved ones family close friends and coworkers. But to strangers and new workers I can come off as mean and can be hardcore. Some people think I’m a total bish…until I get to know they don’t waste time and get the work done, I am not tolerant of laziness. I have no problem with people that keep to themselves. I have a problem with laziness and procrastination.
My fav introverts are istj istp and intj. I have A LOT of respect for istj and istp…you tell them to do something they do it and get it over with. The end result is they get things done no questions asked.

      But remwmber.
Just because people critizise your opinions or try, and analyze them or try, and debate them, That does not mean that they don't respect you if that's the case.
If that's the case, then you should be better at not lettibg your feelings get too much in the way of logic, and if this is the case, then you should learn to detatxh from your emotions, and not let other people affect you too much.
Of course, Listen to them, and consider their veiws, and what they're saying, but if they're just beibg dicks or they just don't care about your veiws, or just don't understand no matter how much you try, and explain, then shrug it off, and move on, because you can't control if others will actually take what you say seriously or not.
Speak proudly, and loudly about your opinions, and let others try, and debate you on it, and try, and try, and not get too upset if people try, and pick apart your ideas, and always try, and listen to what they have to say about your opinions, and once you've liwtened, then it's up for you to decide weather you'll apply what they said to your life or not, and if they're just being bullies or just being disrespectful or just don't get what you're actually saying, or just don't wanna hear you out, then shrug it off, and find new people, and let the people who truely consider your opinions, and respect you come to you.

You did a good depecting a real life Te dom. A lot of people think of the Te dom as this overbearing asshole, with no feelings, but in truth Te doms I have found, do really care about people and want to see them shine but they go about it the wrong way. Until when they mature, they can be some of the best people you have met.
There is also a sense of sort of entitlement I have seen on some Te users, that does not help, which is this sense of them thinking they know precisely how everything works and what everyone wants. It was represented well in the line "Everybody cares about money", but most people do not really care about money, they just want enough to live comfortably and that is it. Most people would love to be millionaires, but it is more of a wishful thinking kind of thing. They do not want to pay the price needed to get that money.
So the combination, of them wanting to help others develop themselves, but having not much tact while also having this sense of entitlement that they know better than you what you need to realize yourself. Can be a terrible combination for some, but when they realize that their thinking is biased and not objective (like everyone else), that they do not have things figured out. That things are more nuanced, and start thinking critically about their methods and believes. They see other people as individuals that have different goals than theirs. The Te dom can really mature, and become a really amazing person. That is still looking to help others realize their goals, but actually look at what their goals are, instead of imposing the goals they want others to achieve.

Right, this reminds me a LOT of my ENTJ cousin. He’s a bit unhealthy, but ultimately he wants the best for those around him. He wants to optimize systems but in a way that fosters growth for people and society at large. For example, he wants to go back to Africa where he grew up and help combat some of the systemic issues there. People in his job (military intelligence) have also come to him to solve complex HR issues, actually. He struggled with Fe, but Te is really not all that dissimilar, actually. Both Te and Fe doms seek external validation and are outward/group focused, it’s more the what works for others vs what feels good for others (more or less).

As an ISFP, I definitely relate to not wanting to monetize my personal hobby. I like to keep it for my own special enjoyment -- I get stressed by the concept of using it to get something from others. The idea of trying to please others through my art -- it's too personal for that, and beauty is subjective anyway. The last thing I want to do is open up my heart to criticism -- because see, my art comes directly from within me. It's a part of me, so it makes no sense for me to try and sell that. I'm happy to use my talents to help close friends or family, on occasion, on a voluntary basis, just for fun. But the minute it starts getting measured and critiqued, it feels like it's being destroyed by someone who it never belonged to in the first place. I hope this explanation helps to clarify why an ISFP might be so reluctant to turn their talents into profit. I'd much rather spend my professional energy on something that doesn't take something from my very soul. So that's why a "dead-end job" could be preferable because you don't have to give away a piece of yourself, and you still have a good supply of creative energy left inside at the end of the day for you to use for your own fulfillment. The thought of trying to organize my deeply personal passion into a career to please the public is extremely distasteful, at least in my perspective. Again, hope this makes sense!

The INFP needs this guy. He's actually trying to make a living on his writing and ENTJ knows people. I mean, I guess there might be some creative differences but you got to start somewhere. Getting your name out there for small stuff can give you more openings for bigger passion projects later down the line. I mean, look at Will Ferrell and how he got so big in his field that he can turn down a $29mil acting gig simply because he genuinely hated the script. That is Fi goals right there.

The one thing about using your talent as a job, sometimes i think it's the fear that the job will make you lose interest in what you used to love. I went to school to be a chef, but seeing how chaotic a kitchen truly is made me turn away from that. Plus im not the type to sit and nit pick food. I'm just happy to have a challenge lately on trying to cook food for people who have to follow strict diets due to allergies or health conditions and am now a dietician (From a fellow ISFP)

While it can be overbearing, this really is the good side of the ENTJ, where they see potential in someone and want to help them realize it. :-) But I understand the ISFP's point of view too, as an INFP. I actually write fanfic but do NOT want to monetize it or have that pressure; I just want to have fun with it. It definitely reminds me of the fights my dad (ENTJ) and I have had over things. Well ,I am mad at that ISFP but I can understand him. It's just, it's hard for us to have a voice or be prominent. Perhaps it's because we find it so difficult to cope with the fact at one point people will force us to change the way we approach our work or judge us,or show spite. I have an instagram page with my artwork but sometimes I just want to plain delete it. I feel pressure and am afraid of people on there.
At one point the ISFP said "like everybody else..?", that hit rly hard. Yes,I do art but what is special about it? There are so many artists out there that do it better than me or have come up with my ideas already. Why should I repeat smth so banal? I must do smth perfect, unique! And just like that... nothing gets done.
Yet, if such a sweet, gentle ENTJ with a bunch of support appeared in my life I would just be elated. You will show me the way and get me out of my Political Science classes? HELL YEAH! TAKE ME! Perhaps the difference between my case and the case of that ISFP is that he was not forced to do smth that he does not like. I am forced to study smth that I absolutely cannot stand and look for loopholes for freedom. ~ I want to break free! ~💃
Yet, I thought ISFPs approached such stuff more practically than INFPs (I'm an ISFP,just curious) Can smn explain this to me,pls? My understanding of cognitive functions is not deep enough.
Thank you for the amazing video, Kevin! 👏👏👏

At the end of the day, your experiences as an individual are going to make the biggest difference.
Yes, typically, ISFPs tend to be more “practical” and “grounded” than INFPs, but that isn’t necessarily always the case.
Let’s look at Michael Jackson, for example. He’s considered to be an ISFP, but his experiences brought about this intuitive, whimsical side to him, where if you didn’t know any better, you might confuse him for an INFP.
Likewise, you (who I’m assuming is an INFP) seem to have grown up in a rather rigid structure where you might not have necessarily been encouraged to explore your more creative side (being forced into Poli Sci, this self-doubt, etc.).
This might’ve caused you to develop a more…”practical” side as perhaps a defense or way of coping with your surroundings. It happens.

As an ENTJ myself, I'd be happier just seeing someone refine and hone a craft for themselves. And while... yes, mediocrity is something I don't wish for others, I understand why people find comfort in it. It's a stable and easy-to-digest life and it affords a lot of personal freedoms. What would send me up a wall is if I saw someone abandon a skill that they enjoyed for a dumb reason. A skill is a skill regardless and skills have value. And one thing I learned is that if an ISFP wants to apply their craft to business, never tell them what to do. Give them resources to help, but don't control their direction. Sure, they'll bump into the wall a couple times here and there, but I respect ISFPs for their ability to do things THEIR way and make THEIR OWN path.

I can relate... in a very painful way. I am ENTJ. Those words are exactly my thoughts and now I realized how wrong I was. Everyone deserves to be respected. Although the reaction of ISFP at the beginning of the video would really hurt me. Normally I like to start a conversation about me and me alone. I can make a conversation all about myself and I love it. If I actually try to ask about someone else's life, even though I am not very good at emotional interactions, it means that person is really important to me. Because to most people, I don't give a f**k. I would laugh at their drawings until they cry. I really don't care. But if I do show some "human emotions", it probably means that person is the most important person in my life. But I guess this is not enough for ISFPs... If people expect me to be like the feeler types, I am simply not capable of doing it. That's not who I am.
