Small class can afford these bad ass knives. I love them. Maybe not this particular model but some are just amazing and tolerance is tight and just has that Medford sound. Best American knife company
Medford is another brand that does nothing for me. Just here for a like and a comment.
Same
The 187 is a great user blade, tough enough to do whatever you need. Maybe try cutting with it😉
I love how square and how finish this handle.
I own a slim midi, marauder h, fighter flipper and I use my medford knives . My only dislike is I wish Greg would make more models with bearings
the 9 on the blade means it’s s90v, a DLT exclusive for their Medfords. edit - 4 would be s45, 3 - s35, a D cpm D2. He’s also played with 20cv and Magnacut that I’ve really only seen at Knife joy. Greg does not like working with magnacut, and is honest about his running kinda soft it’s why he rarely uses it.
187 thickness blade and scales
Gotcha okay thanks!
Not sure about that knife, but my smooth criminal is almost everything I want in a edc knife. Underrated.
I need to try that one
@@doodysdaggers Oh well, it‘s actually EDC-able. Once you put your own edge on it. Mine came blunt as a brick. Had a friend put his Tormek to work for me, 15 degrees per side now. BESS tester showed 57 grams, for what it‘s worth. As far as I know, heat treatment at Medford is impeccable. The rest… well.
The only people I've seen carrying them are folks at knife shows when other RUclipsrs do pocket checks. Other than that, I've never seen one in the wild or any knife people go out of their way to get one.
Yep same
From what I see its mainly collectors and people that want that Made in USA stamp. (this is my observation please feel free to let me know if there are other people that are interested in them as well) Thanks for the content and have a good day.
It cuts pretty good for as big as it is bro
The amrican service knife is all medford in house slip joint in s45vn. They r amazing
That is the exact medford i wanna buy. Blue handle 187 dp . Ive been watchin for them months deciding if i can afford it or not
Heard of Medford but not familiar with them at all. Looking forward to this ..
I've never held a Medford, but I imagine it's big, beefy size and construction gives the user a certain level of confidence. Now, I'm a smaller guy so it doesn't exactly fit the bill for me, but for someone bigger, possibly Viking sized, or someone looking for Thor's hammer... Medford.
Maybe you’re right! You’d feel like you could take on the world with a Medford pulling down your pants
The 9 on the blade stands for S90V
The 9 on the blade means ots in s90v.
I’m not generally interested in Medford but the 187 is actually very interesting to me. Something about the aesthetic. Just a collector piece though, nothing to do with functionality.
Thanks for showing- I like the blue
Great video Dood. Respect. D
their slim models are pretty sweet. still crazy expensive, though.
Come on dood try to cut with it i get it not for everyone but i like it my opinion and ive bought two slim midi and 187
My buddy has one. He’s a huge guy. In his hand it looks like a normal knife. 😂
That says something 😂
But will there be a Doody-style cut test? 🤩
I own one and i love it.. 😍
But do you carry and use it?
I carry it to show of and than use my midi marauder or the smooth criminal. 187 is the thickness of the blade and handles.
I like medford knives but most of there knives are just to big for me to want to carry on a daily basis. I do like my slim midi and think you'll like that model
Scenario: when you need a one tool knife option that includes being a paperweight.
If you really want an Edc Medford try a Slim Midi. Excellent knife on bearings (newer models) don't judge all Medfords the same the 187 is a harder use Medford. The Slim Midi is more if an Edc Medford.
I would like to try a slim midi from Medford. It would be fun to handle some models at a blade show but idk if I would buy a Medford. Their American service knives look pretty cool
Yeah I’d want to handle one before buying. I bet some of them are a lot beefier than they appear
You are Bonkers Sir Medfords are Tanks & i Love em !
I couldn’t help noticing your slabs of titanium 😄
My thick voluptuous slabs?
“Titanium countertop”
I've never been into them, think they look ridiculous and don't get them. Maybe if it crushed a cut test it would gain some points. Thanks for the review
I wonder if the medford slim midi is any better
I dunno I’d like to try one
The slim midi is nice, I carry it alot, pocket clip is not that great though
Love my praetorian
Bro we must think alike I just did same knife it is a beast
It’s not for slicing apples
You need to check out one of there American service knives. I love mine. Gotta get one in your hands to actually understand it. Don’t like the beefy stuff
Is it thinner and more practical?
@@doodysdaggers it’s like a Swiss Army knife on steroids. Idk why but once you touch it you can’t let it go. They’re completely modular also. Changing the scales blades and tools
Baller business men that wait two years for a custom. Or you can buy from dealers.
Never met 1 single person that carries a Medford. I see them posted once in awhile in the FB knife groups for sale. I think maybe the older gentlemen get them. No idea but DLT promotes the shit outta them.
Haha yeah
Would Iike to play with one, but that would be it. Not something I would want to carry!
They aren't for everyone, including myself...But he hasn't been around as long has he has nor been as successful as he is if everyone thought his stuff was a joke...the social media community of knife buyers is just a drop in the bucket overall...
Good point
@@doodysdaggers i personally think 90% of their catalog is ugly af lol...but they have a few slim designs and some chodes i might buy on the secondary...for half price lol
This knife is the antithesis of the Rosie. I can’t see one redeeming quality except for availability.
Not something I’d pick up, but appreciate the review as always.
Haha yeah totally. The exact opposite
This is the only brand people should buy the counterfeit versions of. Greg Medford is a giant douche. These should absolutely be available at truck stops…behind the glass though 😂
I've seen a lot of Medfords over the years. Will never own one. Expensive overbuilt objects.
Kinda like an ad10 ? Beefy n strong, like if u need to stab a zombie 🧟♂️ in the head n not have blade break?! Lol 😅
Lazy manufacturing and design imo, to make them so thick, not mill the titanium, have fidgety/inconsistent fitment of parts. Modern American standards man 😅 They aren't the only ones that come to mind.
They're able to crank out all that surplus sitting stock, yet still charge so much for them, apparently just on the virtue of being US made.
They look solidly built, I guess they can take some abuse? So one would have use in an extreme survival situation. But I'm not under the delusion that they were made for that purpose.
Yeah exactly man, I’d love to know how many Medfords have been used in survival situations
Medford is way too expensive for what you get
I always carry my Chi-torian when I wear my famous Medford T-shirt
Medford designs are so aesthetically unpleasant, not to mention their heat treat sucks too, the cherry on top is the price lmao. Yeah that's a brand I will never buy from
