@@jhamer18 Considering that Rocksteady we’re trying to get a Superman game off the ground until WB for some reason said no and practically had Rocksteady use the assets from that Superman game into this one. And yeah you can’t turn a Superman game in a live service because obviously it shouldn’t be part of the character in a single player format but a lot of people would have preferred a Superman game or even another Arkham Batman game over whatever this is.

Yeah that's what I was so shocked about, why make two nearly identically playing games at the same time? It's even funnier looking back because Gotham knights flopped so hard that most people forgot it existed at this point.

It looks very generic and 'tacky', reminds me of a free- to- play predatory cash grab game. I have no reason to want to play this. A single player game focused on Batman or Superman would've been much better.
Now I'm not so sure I want to see a Superman game from these guys anymore.
From watching the gameplay footage that they've shown, all I can say is that this game doesn't look focused. It looks like Fortnite where it's colorful and there's million things happening all at once. When you play Rocksteady's Arkham games they feel focused in keeping you grounded in reality and not giving you crazy teleportation magic to fly around.

That's just how Metropolis looks an Art Deco retro futuristic city of tomorrow with alot of 1950s Americana. It's meant to be a heavy contrast to the Gothic Revival Gotham City. But in terms of the gameplay I know what you mean but this game seems to be embracing the wider DC universe so they'll be stuff like magic and teleportation. Batman is a very grounded character yet Gotham City is not.
It's like a frankenstein job of loads of other games stitched together to try and capitalise on every type of gamer out there. It just looks like some crap that ubisoft would churn out.

It's crazy how they're so adamant about it being in the Arkham universe even though king shark is pushing up daisies and Deadshot isn't bIack in the Arkham canon. It just seems like they're desperate to make it sell so they're piggybacking it off of the Arkham games in the hopes that it will give it some built in fans.
They made the old Deadshot an imposter and this new one the actual guy lol

There's no open sales figures but using steam reviews and top all time active players it had a top player count of 24,000 which is fairly low for a full price AAA game. For reference the steam release horizon zero dawn that came out years after it did on console had a top player count of 56,000.

Its like they knew people liked the movie rosters so they made Deadshot black and used the most popular others from the movies. If the game was made today I seriously believe Peacemaker would be there on release and now he will probably be a DLC free hero later.

I agree that it makes no sense to do a Suicide Squad game if you're just going to make them all shoot guns. They very clearly based the lineup off what is currently popular because of the movies. It makes no sense that Deadshot's "imposter" would get locked up in Arkham City. I'm pretty sure a criminal's race is listed in their criminal profile. It also doesn't help that if he was an imposter Batman would have recognized that because I don't know.... he's the world's greatest detective.
The analogy of "it looks like a game a movie character plays is so perfect". Ive seen that happen in enough movies to know how accurate it is.
Twisted Metal also falls in this category. Still fun but man is that game overwhelming.

It’s kinda crazy how much this could potentially mirror the disaster that was Square’s Avengers game. Crystal dynamics were known for premium single player experiences only to be forced to make a crappy live service rendition of one of the biggest Super hero properties in the world (the Avengers). Rocksteady was known for their incredible Batman games (single player as well) just seems like they are being forced to make this as well…
We’ll see once this games comes out, but first impression?: not interested.

Metropolis alone looks better than Gotham Knight, idk I'm honestly excited to see where this game leads us. They've only been showing flash related content which seems like the first part of the game after Arkham Asylum so it seems there's alot to hide surrounding the narrative.

Why are they jumping 500ft in the air and floating as if they were on the moon? The last trailer "flash and burn" looked a LOT more grounded than this.

Not sure what I was expecting when it was revealed a Suicide Squad game was in development, but given that it was from Rocksteady, I (foolishly) thought it would be in the same vein as the Arkham series. Seeing that it's gone the direction of Avengers and Gotham Knights has completely neutered my hype for the game. Oh well, $70 saved.

Oh my God. This game looks horrible. To think that dope post credits scene in Arkham Origins: Blackgate that got me so hyped back in the day would lead to this. Let's just hope this game turns out amazing and the microtransactions aren't that bad (as if them being there isn't bad enough), cause this is looking to be another Crystal Dynamics' Avengers 2.0: DC Edition instead of a Arkham Quadrilogy or Insomniac's Spider-Man trilogy.
I get the greivance with Batman coming back, but i do like the idea that Bruce stayed hidden until Brainiac invaded, he came back (possibly teams with Suicide Squad so he has 'back up'?) but even he can't stop them & gets invaded too. Would kinda explain why Harley's sorta cool with him in the reveal clip from TGA

Can't believe I'm gonna say this, but the gameplay we saw from the State of Play made Gotham Knights look good. SSKTJL looks like every generic looter shooter, Battle pass obsessed cash grab ever. like take away the DC characters and what do you have? a mishmash of ever generic overused hated videogame trope.
at least if you took the DC characters out of Batman Arkham knight, you'd still gave fun combat mechanics, good traversal mechanics etc. but this just has Cash grab pissed all over it, which sucks because I'm sure that they're plenty of people who want a good co-op superhero game, but so far all we gotten was "battle pass cash grab" or "unpolished mess."
Hopefully Insomniac doesn't mess up with Spider-Man 2

The combat looks like it sucks from a gameplay perspective. The enemy variety isn't really there and their using "RPG" gear Elements to pad/draw out shit. Dosent make sense to give Boomerang a Gun like you said. Having Different Boomerangs and boomerang tricks would have been cooler but these people probably dont know shit about that character.
I'd still rather play this over knights just because Metropolis is actually being featured in a AAA Game and characters like Toy Man are in it. but other than that . Story is probably gonna suck and be disappointing like Arkham Knight.
But I got one question... Why the fuck would you do a Suicide Squad game over the Justice League. The threat is literally a JLA Threat and people would rather play as the heroes.
Suicide Squad should have been a tight and focused like Arkham Asylum. Not this mess. This dosent even look or feel like a Rocksteady Game. Damn Man what happened to DC Games. Hopefully Wonder Woman is a slam hit. They literally would have to try hard to fuck up Diana.

I don't understand the problem with this at all, looks like a great third person shooter with super speedy and affective traversal. Also Captain Boomerang using the speed force does make sense, because its infused into his boomerangs so they actually have a fucking use. King Shark IS the primary melee character because they fucking said it. Its their own universe they can change what they want, and the tank issue was YOU driving in the tank, not tanks in general. The reason why it's so colorful and bright and weirdly sterile is because its fucking metropolis, which isn't fucking real anyway. Also we don't know who's left from the Suicide Squad, or there are other Squads that will be in the story. And no Batman didn't do a memory erase, because Harley calls him by his name. And it was already theorised batman was still operating under the idea he was dead if you actually play Arkham Knight. Lex Looks like Joe Rogan tbf, and the real deadshot wasn't cool with it. So he killed him. Pretty sure he was locked up. Also, Gizmo is doing vehicles if you listen to the trailer, which is completely different to the random bullshit toyman is doing. Gear score will also still have transomog kinda stuff, so that point is redundant. It's live service cuz they want to add more characters. The characters aren't changed they all have their strong personalities, it's just a shooter. Literally not any deeper than that. I don't know how you can say killing the entire justice league isn't interesting at all.
From inception, I wasn't fully on board and like you, I kept optimistic since its Rocksteady but again seeing the main focus being 3rd person shooters (especially for Captain Boomerang & King Shark) & like you said the hodgepodge of abilities with the only one I'm okay with is Captain Boomerang having essentially Owen's superspeed.
Story wise the evil JL plot I'm still really meh on, still saying I would've much preferred it is the Crime Syndicate. The humour, still ain't there for me and especially the Flash ain't doing it for me. As for being in the Arkham-verse I feel it's purely for marketability rather than them wanting to make it fit well with the Arkham games.
On the positives I like the environments so far and I still think for what they lie trying to achieve barebones as a 3rd person shooter I think it will be at least a 7/10 game. Just not a game for me.
The 4 characters could easily be their own things without guns.
Deadshot can be the gun guy with special ammo types that buff or applies statuses for the other characters to combo with combat wise
Harley could be the CQC specialist
King Shark tank melee/shield
Captain Boomerang could be a mid range crowd control type. Can get in close for hand to hand but also can zip around to other positions and use his boomerang’s for some distance fighting
On your point about deadshot. How is it that the “ Worlds Greatest Detective “ never figured out that the deadshot he fought for all those years was a fake.

This is what happens when you start with an idea for a game and who you want in it, shop it around for a couple years, finally give it to a studio then let it spend half a decade in development hell, force the devs to make it as money-hungry as humanly possible to make up the cost of 8 yrs development and then force it out attached to as much popular IP as possible, hoping the baked-in fanbase will float you into profits. Sprinkle a lack of care for the lore and characters or how they operate within their worlds for good measure. Good times. Good times
The whiole tank gameplay, especially the Predator tank stuff, really dragged down Arkham Knight for me to the point where I honestly prefer the oft forgotten Arkham Origins. Having that military commander guy yelling into the radio made me think that someone at Rock steady wittier really rather be making CoD or something.
i'm interested in the game because of ss 2016 i'm not fimilar with ss comics but am excited do to we're getting "villains" as main protaganists in a video game

It's truly mesmerizing how RUclipsrs nowadays just prioritize making these negative previews/opinions for upcoming games. I mean I guess it's so beneficial to sound like an edgy sceptic and then try to justify it with ''being a fan'', so all of the viewers are going to think- ''Damn that guys knows what he is talking about''
My opinion: The game looks incredible. We all know that Rocksteady is great at creating amazing open worlds that feel fleshed out. And we all love the gameplay in their games(excluding the Batmobile). It's so obvious to see what are the goals for this game:
Smooth, feel good traversal, which can rival Spiderman hopefully. An interesting, filled with verticality open world which will be amazing to explore with friends. And Hopefully a great combat, we can't be sure of that yet. I have been waiting for a game like this for years and when I saw yesterday's showcase i was actually blown away. It is so refreshing when a company shares so much gameplay and information for their upcoming game. I can only compare their approach to Ubisoft's approach with AC Mirage, which you can pre-order without ever having seen the gameplay, which is the total polar opposite of what we saw yesterday from Rocksteady. This game looks like it's going to be a solid 9/10 at least on the "Fun Factor'' rating.
Please do not listen to these RUclipsrs that don't know more than you or me. They just need to push their 2023 edgy, negative, sceptic pile of shit, cuz that what's popular now. It is so incredibly easy to nitpick and just think of all the things that you might hate about anything and make a video out of it. Don' be afraid to be positive. Not all games are going to end up like Cyberpunk/ Saints row and so on.
PS: Anybody who says that this game looks like Marvel Avengers is clearly delusional. All they share in common is a battlepass, which is present in so many games nowadays...i mean you can say that COD is like avengers using that logic. I personally prefer the game that i buy to have plans for the future and to be updated and supported for many years.

3:52 the current heroes in the Arkham verse are Robin,Nightwing,red hood,azreal,black canary,huntress,green arrow,zatanna,hal Jordan,Aquaman,Ted kord bb,booster gold,Wally west,Martian manhunter, and batwoman get all those people together give them a good plan and they have a decent shot if anything Waller should have just deathstroke in to solo but no Waller sends 3 people with no powers and a shark 🤦♂️

As for the whole gimmick behind the group, that shouldnt exist in a situation like this. waller would be contacting any and everyone she could get. Black Adam, Sinestro, Thawne(although he may be a wild card), etc. literally anyone other than the four that we got

I dont get their choice of premise either because if they do "kill the justice league" then they've basically killed the arkhamverse as well, right after they finally expanded it! Since no heroes will be left besides maybe wonder woman.
they could have easily solved this by replacing the suicide squad members with young justice leauge members (kid flash/robin with batman tech etc ) and ditching the guns and maybe putting a couple villain members into the mix that support them for the duration of that crisis.

Thankfully we are getting a Wonder Woman game and it's being made by a great developer too.
It's kind of sad that it looks like there was real effort put into the writing and producing values of the cutscenes. I often heard the same thing about The Avengers single player but it didn't save the game overall, which is what I suspect here.
Modern gaming in a nutshell make game super repetitive looters rpg with very shallow rpg mechanics and sell tons of cosmetics and time savers
I think it would better to play as the legion of doom because you’re just playing as the justice league’s opposites and story wise it would make sense because I don’t expect the suicide squad to kill the justice league ☠️
Rocksteady made excellent Bataman games I my assumption was this would be excellent too.
But with each new footage we see my heart sink a little more.

Harley Quinn traversing like cross a between Batman and Spiderman was just hideous and doesn't looks as good as Insomniac's Spiderman or Rocksteady's own Batman traversal.
On top of all that,it's following a 'games as a service' model! (which isn't the only Marvels Avengers simliarity)
I'm guessing they've had real problems developing this game and it wouldnt surprise me if you game has changed several times from it's original vision.
Maybe some key members of the development team have left also?
I’m still surprised by how inconsistent Rocksteady is with the characters… I’m excited for the game, but as a big Arkham fan Deadshot and King Shark hurt my brain lol. Why not make Deadshot Blood Sport? Idk just seemed strange to me.
