THIS COMMENT says so much. That is a true man of the military. Disciplined and determined, grace and honor, torment and terror. They do what needs to be done. I really feel for her brother. And mike’s comment “I wouldn’t drink anything he gave me” rattled me. I’m a safety girl. when in college and out with friends I was always the one to pull “security”. Be able to identify the creepers and get girls out of situations. I’ve done it all my life. I have “creeper radar”. At a party, a guy taking an obviously drunk girl somewhere secluded, you’d find me 🤦🏻‍♀️ right there, pulling her from his grasp redirecting her to her friends. I loved to go out and party, but I just didn’t play games with safety. Whatever happened to the Buddy System?

There’s never closure. That kind of pain and grief is always with you; it never gets better, time doesn’t heal all wounds. You learn to exist in the absolute hell that is your new reality at best.
There may be moments of joy, but you feel guilty about them. Maybe you get married, have children, but you’re hyper-aware that you can lose those people you love and there’s nothing you can do about it. Sometimes, your partner will scream and be openly resentful because they don’t understand that kind of suffering; they may even become jealous of the loved one you lost.

thank you for bringing awareness to this case Mike, this is one ive not heard of before and it needs awareness because she hasn't been found until this very day. super sad this one almost had me in tears! I even google searched it for more info. this one hits close to my heart because my little brother and only sibling was registered as a missing person June 2nd of 2019, so ive literally walked in the same shoes a Lea's brother Max. except my nightmare over the whereabouts of my little bro came to an end two years after he was reported missing. in fact his whereabouts were not known for 2 years almost to the day
he- well his bones were found in a thick stretch of woods on the north edge of the town just north of where we grew up. we'll never know exactly what happened but I still feel so fortunate just for the fact that we were able to bring him home and lay him to rest 💙. Rest In Peace little bro 💝 it's likely that he od'd probably accidentally but possibly his death couldve been intentional as well. at the very least I don't believe he died in those woods, it's likely that he od'd while in the company of some "friends" and was dumped there after the fact. but these are the types of questions we won't get the answers to unless pieces of the truth happen to come out the wash years down the road. even with everything I still feel like one of the lucky ones- how many out there have a loved one turned up missing? thousands in our country alone. and how many of those missing people are actually found? a very small percentage. at least now I have a slight idea about what actually happened but a slight idea's worth of answers is a heck of alot more answers than most families get! Rest In Peace Beautiful Lea Porter. Max and Renee im so sorry for your loss I hope and pray you will find some peacein regard to your loss and even that you'll find her soon!!

Just listening to the brother beg for the truth brought me to tears. Hearing that he put her in a dumpster was heartbreaking.

These monsters always try to blame the victim for why they killed them. “It was self defense!” Liar… they’re all liars… he killed her bc she didn’t want to sleep with him. Flipping evil monster. Her brother is amazing. Glad he was able to beat him up.

They shouldn't have offered a plea deal without getting the location of Lea's body. Also wish Max and Jesse did a little more damage to Chris before he turned himself in.

Thank you so much for covering this story. She was the sweetest and most kind soul. She saved my life once. You always think “it’ll never happen to someone I know” but it can. It’s still painful to think about. I only knew her for a short period of time, but she was a lovely person and i miss her.

@lilMALICEundead would you mind sharing how Lea saved your life? Of course if it's too personal or painful a story, no need to respond.
So sorry for your loss. You're a good person for keeping her memory alive.

what an amazing brother, i just keep thinking how my brother would never do anything like this for me even if i was still alive and missing. It’s incredible to see people care about a loved one so much that he was determined to get justice for what happened to her, the world really needs more men and brothers like this.

Chris had a bit of a Stephen McDaniels vibe minus a brain. I'm sad that if she felt he was creepy that she pushed those feelings aside. Good for you Max! I bet she's in one of the bodies of water he visited.
I always said if I only taught my kids one thing let that be if something doesn't feel right to move around... Follow your gut. So tragic. My heart goes out to her family.
    As always, well done Mikey!
