The fact that he wasn’t immediately trying to get his daughter out of the house and away from the scene probably gave the police a feeling that he was involved right away. It reminds me of Shauna Tiaffay’s murder. I don’t remember if Mike has covered it or not. It was about 10 years ago in Vegas, he was a firefighter and she was a cocktail waitress at one of the big hotels (Caesar’s maybe or the Palms) She filed for divorce so he hired a homeless guy that he was friends with to murder her…bc he didn’t want her to divorce him. He had their 8 year old for the night and the next morning just showed up “to pick something up”. No idea why he wanted to be the one to discover her body, but the asshole brought their daughter inside with him. So he purposefully had their 8 year old witness her mother’s dead body lying on the floor, having been beaten to death with a claw hammer. WHO DOES THAT?!?! A guy that doesn’t care about anyone but himself, just like this guy. Disgusting.

As insurance seems to be such a common motive they could remove this motive simply by having a law in which the insurance company must confirm with the person getting insured that they know their husband/wife has suddenly doubled their life insurance or is taking out five life insurance policies on them.

I do not know this story, but I believe most insurance policies will NOT pay out if foul play is involved. Of course, arrogant and narcissistic people likely "think" they will not be caught. But I would think an insurance company SHOULD have photo ID and signatures of not only the person who buys the policy, but of the beneficiary. And yes, any/all changes to a policy SHOULD require BOTH parties to be present, or no changes can be made.
Yes, greed is much too prevalent nowadays, as a motive for murder, to let these processes stay like they have been for decades. That should become State/Federal law, IMO.

I feel so bad for those children. I can't even imagine what they must've witnessed, seeing their mother get beaten to death while trying to fight to save her & her babies lives. She was trying to do anything she possibly could to keep him from harming her children. & unfortunately she lost her life, fighting her damndest. Wow! I really hope the kids are ok & doing well. Especially Charlie. After hearing what she witnessed & went through. Hugging her mom one last time, before going upstairs & protecting her little brother, shows so much courage & bravery at such a young age. I really hope she was able to get some form of therapy so she was able to work through all of that. That was way to much for a 7 year old little girl to take on. Especially to be thinking it may have been your dad, too. So incredibly sad! It's alot for anyone to take all of that on, less a little kid.

I wondered whether it was something the little girl had maybe seen before? Mike didn't say there was any previous DV incidents reported, but it was an isolated house and easy to cover up anything under a trip to hospital level?
How could he care so little for his beautiful children? Putting them in harms way as he took their mother's unconditional love from them, making them watch and hear it being beaten out of her.

@@luciuscornelius7177 I know. I often find myself shaking my head at alot of these cases, where it is one partner setting up another to be killed savagely in front of their children. Leaving them to witness it themselves, or to be horribly hurt, to even being killed sometimes also. It literally boggles my mind how a parent can traumatize a child in this way. Forget divorce, go straight to murder. Take one parent away by death, which usually ALWAYS leads to the other one getting caught & being taken away by way of prison. I'll never be able to comprehend these types of people, I guess! 🤷🏼‍♀️ & to respond to what you first brought up. About possible DV. That is a great point. I mean, I don't see how there really could not be any, to be quite honest. He seemed to be a very very volatile person. Didn't take much for him to lose his cool. So it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, if there were some DV reports, or at least stuff the children witnessed & heard in that home, which breaks my heart to the fullest. Like you mentioned an isolated house, not many neighbors who can hear the goings on, & report things. So it very well could've been kept under wraps. Wow can't believe you covered this ... I went to high school with Kelly. She and her family were and still are some of the kindest people you'll ever met, and she was very well known and liked throughout town. Despite the higher crime rate (limited to a small area) this came as a complete shock ... And EVERYONE immediately suspected Tom right after it happened.
Like always, Mike did a great job covering and keeping it classy, while still entertaining ... Not easy given the genre!

Eliza Fletcher was just kidnapped and killed here where I live, Memphis, and I was just thinking about that. she was on her morning run, minding her business. dude saw her, decided her felt like killing that day, so he did. then tossed her body in the dumpster down the road from his brother's house about a mile, and continued on with his day. that's all it takes for your life to be over forever and you're just be dust in the wind and a memory and they get to keep living. living in prison 47% of the time, since 47% of murders are solved (in the USA), or a 53% chance of not in prison...nope, just going around with life like nothing ever happened...and your death doesn't even get avenged. you just turn to dirt and your murderer gets to go on with their life. You need to go off of the evidence, don’t you? Each person handles tragedy *very* differently. There are some cases where it seems like the spouse has NO emotion whatsoever, but it’s due to complete shock from finding their loved one murdered. With that said, we know here- that he’s guilty obviously. But you can’t just walk into a crime scene every time with that mindset assuming that it’s the husband etc, you have to at least have an open mind and not have blinders on so you are able to do a proper investigation. Too many people have been wrongly charged and convicted for murdering their spouses because the cops have blinders on- for the very reason you two are assuming they should just arrest the spouse right away based on a simple statement. What if the spouse walked in and saw their spouse beheaded?? Or their spouse is completely bloody and ice cold to the touch because they’ve been dead for 20 hours? And they were just too overwhelmed to even say anything else about it? And they just wanted emergency services to get there as soon as possible? Trust me.. So tragic. I never understand why some people never look at themselves for their own failings. Get over it... you're not the superstar you see in your head and the NHL didn't want you! He probably blamed his wife for every bad thing in his life. Thank you for such entertainment! You are hilarious, which seems inappropriate for such tragedy and yet absolutely perfect as you make fun of that creep! Great video!

Most of us have unachieved dreams, but we move forward with other goals. We certainly don’t hurt or kill other people because of disappointment.

"Just trust me" was a massive red flag.
"Do the thing to save your wife's life"
"No, that's not that's not gonna work"
    "what why"
"Dude just trust me bro :D"
Anyone else would have made the attempt no matter how futile the attempt would have been

My infant niece watches these dancing fruit videos, and one of the songs they use is the life insurance dance music. I burst out laughing every time it comes on and my family looks at me like I'm insane. Thanks Mike 😂
