- Quinn Gray lived with her husband in Ponte Vedra beach. They had the beautiful mansion, the great job, the fantastic life. But one day, Quinn was kidnapped by three men, and held for $50,000 ransom. The police got involved, there were money drops, there were threats. But, all was not as it seemed.

When she was talking on the phone while being "kidnapped", she legit had the energy of an irate girlfriend who's fed up of explaining to her boyfriend the directions of where to pick her up. She didn't sound afraid for her life one bit.
She sounded bossy as hell, not afraid or traumatized. She definitely sounded like she was calling the shots.
I like "did you hear the round I just fired?". You never have to ask anyone that question. If you fire a round, they'll hear it.

lol Mr. Vhorthex is *definitely* speaking from experience. So am I when I say I agree with him.
She kinda sounded scared, but like "I know you have the money to fix this and you're fucking it up when you know I need you not to."
I laughed so hard at the part where the German tourists picked up the ransom money….it’s like the plot of a comedy movie 🤣
and from the fact that they called the police to hand over that money tells me they were REAL Germans raised by German parents and not people "with a German passport" leeching in Germany...
Its the fact they called the police for me 😂😭😭😭
Reminds me of Dumb and dumber
Guess she was caught "panty in handed"...? He, He, Safe to say she was properly "nicked"???
I'm starting to see why they use it in comedy.
When she calls 911 to report herself free of her “kidnapping” and then gets offended when the operator hasn’t heard about her 😅 I feel like she expected to say her name and they’d immediately be like DRAMATIC GASP
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Don’t you know who I AM!?”
"They're professionals they want 50k" was the first sign that professionals were definitely not involved. Professional wouldn't risk life in prison for kidnapping over 50k that you have to split with other people.
Maybe it was Dr. Evil from the 60s
@@seantimmons5900 "why make billions when we could make...*camera zooms in* millions?"
And professionals would have demanded the money be wired to an account in the Caymans.

I cannot believe that she got off with no jail time. It must be nice having money and not having to pay the consequences of your actions.

I have bipolar 1 and I’m a recovering (sober) alcoholic. It makes me so angry when people use these diagnoses as an excuse to just be terrible people. Not even at my worst (when I was unmedicated and hearing voices in my AC, convinced I was being spied on after going 3 days without sleep, all while drowning my thoughts in cheap vodka) did I think “hmmm, I’m gonna go swindle my loved ones today.”
The only thing crazy about her is how selfish she is. And anyone can be selfish, with or without a diagnosis.
Yeah agreed there's no way it was a bipolar thing because if so she wouldn't of been hell bent on it for that long. I have bpd and I'm constantly changing, maybe it's different for some but this is bullshit. 🤢
Exactly what I thinking being someone who experiences bipolar disorder and am in recovery for a looooooong addiction. I would have never done something like this, it just isn’t in my nature or my base personality. So even though things could get bad on their own I tried so hard to protect my family from the worst of myself. I feel grateful to have made it, found recovery, and to be a contributing and healthy member of society. And whether or not it’s your sober date, happy recovery to you
Exactly. There must be millions of people with BPD who don't use that as an excuse for heinous behavior. She should have just owned it.
@@ilsamiller8291 Thank you ❤️ Happy recovery to you too!
Well done on your sobriety!💕
There's so many good bits of audio in this case. Quinn demanding Reid dropping off the money at Chik Fil A, and Reid yelling "Which one, Quinn, there's three of them!", when Jasmin called and said his picture was related to "some sort of woman kidnapping", and finally Quinn constantly repeating "spicy chicken drumettes". Thank god it's a fake crime, because we are guiltlessly allowed to make fun of everything happening. God bless Florida for these gems
That first phone call of her screaming at the husband made me think she was in on it.. horrible that her family and children had to go through that!
Ikr!! Me too!! I just commented the same thing! Soon as I heard her voice on the phone to her husband I knew she was in on it!
U can definitely tell we both watch a lot of Mike and his Chapters of “true crime” if we can tell she was in on it by the sound of her voice lol .
The title of the video is what clued me in 😂
Exactly. Why give everything up in the title. No intrigue...(
The title might have helped a bit lol
It was pretty clear she wasn't really kidnapped when she decided to snipe and argue with her husband like he took a wrong turn or bought the wrong brand of tuna in what was supposed to be a ransom call where she feared for her life.
As someone with bipolar disorder who's actually been through several very traumatic extreme manic phases in my life, I'm insulted that someone would try to use that as an excuse. If that's part of your bipolar disorder it's an extremely disruptive symptom that you have a history of. It doesn't just conveniently happen to you in the middle of a fake kidnapping you've setup. It's incredibly insulting and makes me very, very angry.🤬
You know it's not a symptom. I have several very close family members who were diagnosed as teenagers. One of them took his life at 24. Unlike his brother, he never said a word about what he was going through. Now it's been passed down to another generation. It's like a lot of other conditions one is susceptible too. Both parents carry the gene and it's pass down. She may be bipolar but her defense was reaching for straws using it as an excuse. I agree with you, it's very insulting.
Right with you. I'm bipolar one. It happens and there are usually signs that it is about to get bad. Increase in rate of speech, flight of ideas (like grand scale ideas that never reach the the planning phase) unfinished projects, agitation, euphoria, lack of sleep, lack of appetite... they vary from person to person and are typically life long once you've had one. My first hypo manic episode was when I was 14. I was severely abused by a diagnosed narcissist which elevated my disorder and I had my first mania 7 years ago. I have one to two manias per year, and then fall straight to depression as I am a rapid cycler. This is not a disorder to use as an excuse! This is why the stereotype around disorders like this is so bad. It's disgusting. Thank you for your comment. We are not what people think we are and it's people like this who keep it that way. It sucks.
Much respect for you.
Calm down Sparky.
You tell them!!!!
Just listening to the way she speaks to her husband during the "ransom" calls, you can tell it's the norm for them. Doesn't even tell him she loves him. So heartbreaking. He deserves so much better. I hope he finds it.
Omg, I noticed that as well. She didn't even tell him I love you back.
When I listen to Reid's calm reactions, it sounds like he knew he was being duped. Quinn is absolutely awful. She needs to be locked away from society.
Yeah considering how quickly he divorced her and remarried his daughters teacher, i feel like he was onto her BS for sometime.
I agree . she's a danger to society. lock her up and throw away the key
Totally agree. He sounded like he was fed up with her bs..lol
"I wonder what my girls think right now?" As a parent, I'm thinking you certainly don't deserve to have your girls in your life if you were OK with doing this to them. Disgusting.
That’s where it’s quite obvious that she’s not having a manic episode.
It's like she held them emotionally hostage. They probably wept their eyes out in terror during the ordeal.
She's way too comfortable lying, which means she's practiced at it and probably does it constantly, and even to her kids. They'll know what she is and reject her eventually.
I think that’s the saddest part. How can you do that to your family 😢
"She hooked up with a guy she met at the gas station." This lady has very high standards I see...
As soon as the “kidnappers” involved Quinn’s mother, it was clear Quinn made up the whole thing.
Professional kidnappers are really going to stop dealing with a businessman husband and instead work with the hostage’s mom?! What a joke! I feel horrible for the kids in this family.
Being kidnapped by "Albanian thugs" is the plot of the 2008 movie "Taken" starring Liam Neeson - her story wasn't even original or creative... she stole a movie story.
Good point!
I knew as soon as I heard her voice. The note was very specific for the financials...I'm willing to bet either her husband controlled allthe money bc she would drink it all away or maybe even gave her an allowance...but her tone of voice in the phone calls wasn't sad or scared she was just annoyed like a wife telling her husband to stop watching the game and go take her dogs outside. I think she was mad that her husband controlled the finances and even thought they both were having affairs, ithink her insecurities got the best of her and she wanted 50k to pay off her car or just party with. Sad they didn't serve anytime.i mean the guy he should probably have gotten that deal probation and fines but she should have served jail time. She needed it. But the rich don't get punished the way us poor do
the mother?? forget that! it was obvious it was her fro. the start! her handwritten note. only her talking on the phone so obv theres no one but her.
Yes and the FBI says they're in charge of the operation but deal with her mother? Give me a break!
Love the tone of the operator when Osmanovic called in and was like "yeah I saw my picture connected to the woman kidnapping." The responding "Is that you?" Love the way the voice pitches.
What a disgusting waste of a person. She should be in prison rotting right now. She took police resources from other cases that needed them and she doesnt care at all
Imagine putting your mother and children through such a trauma. Totally mad.
well, her belief she could say any lie and be believed probably has its roots in someone being willing to accept whatever she came up with, as a child, without caring enough to bust her when she lied.
@@judithbradford9130 Your comment is correct. The roots were set in place by her mom.

Straight away, that 'ransom' note was FAR too neat to be written by someone in distress.

Jasmin obviously could tell she’d use anyone to achieve her goal. She was doing it to her husband and two girls and the rest of her family and friends, she’d turn on him just as easily if it benefited her.
Now that’s some real privilege, money for those two lawyers Dr’s to testify on her mental condition at the time. If she gets off and stays with Reid I predict one will murder the other within a decade.
I’m not sure which is more incredulous, Reid believing his wife is innocent or Quinn believing no one would ever believe she would fake her own kidnapping.
I doubt he stayed because he believed her. He probably stuck around long enough to try and get her off without jailtime for their children's sake, then divorced her when it was all said and done. What a true parent would do, despite his own personal feelings on the situation. The fact that he has to pay her alimony is mind boggling though.

I really can't help but feel that this entire thing was planned by her as a means of getting attention. She's right why would she attempt to go through all this trouble for $50,000 that she could have taken out of the bank. Unless for some reason her husband was in control of the finances but this wasn't mentioned. I mean they said he made $70,000 a month. I mean if she could not access the cash why didn't she at least sell her car and say it was stolen. None of it makes any sense except for she wanted to play a victim and have her 15 minutes of fame. Someone mentioned her being dropped off completely naked and as soon as I saw that I thought that's the behaviour of a drama queen. I mean who would do that except for someone seeking attention. As always the heartbreaking part is she has a child and they are always the most innocent victim in this type of thing. Can't believe she's working in a treatment centre but to be honest I've worked in several and they have a tendency to have some pretty questionable staff.
Mike, I love your channel beyond words. The old intro music was iconic. Can you please bring it back?
Feels special when Mike says 'I love ya' at the end. 🥰
Mike mentioned once at the very beginning that Reid and Quinn had two kids. I feel so bad for those innocent children. They have two parents who are chronic adulterers and one of them pulled this shit.
he probably did it because she wasnt giving him any
I say adultery should be punishable again. It wrecks tii many lives, and for what, a different hole or meat stick?!!! Ugh!
Yeh. The kids would be scarred by there crap.

It's comical hearing her talk about how "they" have her tied up. As she's talking on the phone.
My assumption was they were holding the phone for her.
lol I know, reminds me of the Jennifer Pan case
What do you mean? She sounds like she's on speakerphone and obviously she would be if the kidnappers were listening in.
@@johns1625missing the point. Point being she's full of crap! What kidnapper really just let's someone on the phone multiple times while being kidnapped?
@@lorimoore5589missing the point.
It’s absolutely insane to me that the cops bought her story. Hearing the phone calls she was making and then watching the interrogation I knew immediately she was lying. Instantly.
Probation? No jail time? Quite a way to prevent others from doing the same 🙄
I knew from the beginning of the phone call right away that she was guilty. She couldn’t even fake sounding scared for her life lol, and besides who would get angry at their husband like that when they’re in a life or death situation and they’re trying their best to save you? Oh and when she was “released” without the ransom money, that should’ve been the biggest clue right there. It’s comical that she thought this was ever gonna work 😆
The phone calls sounded sooo fake!
Did the police listen to these calls? I knew she was off the second she abused her husband for taking his time answering the call. A loving wife would just be thankful he answered and would want to let him know she loved him. What a piece of work.
Exactly, it was so fake, I knew right away from the letter she left to the phone call she made.
Honestly it's nothing short of a miracle that she wasn't automatically believed and every man involved wasn't given the maximum sentences for every possible crime she claimed. This is actually incredibly unusual in the US court system, I'd safely say for every falsified kidnapping of a woman it is probably a 1 in 10 chance where the woman accuser is not automatically 100% believed by 🐷 from the jump. You don't hear about the ones who haven't been exposed on a sensationalized show like this.
No you didn't lol
You knew because you read the title of the video, and now you want to pretend to be clever.
Wow why on earth would anyone do that to their families. Imagine her poor mother and her children 😢
Thanks Mike for another amazing video we can always depend on you. ❤
IKR, she is such a psychopath how she was giggling and joking with her lover about it how she could do this to her family as if she was some high schooler trying to be rebellious.
I knew it was her from the letter. My handwriting letter, no shaking. I knew it was her. How calm on the phone besides yelling at Reid. She’s full of crap.
I love this channel and will never forget binge watching when I first discovered it. To this day, the opening and closing music puts a smile on my face and I never get tired of "give it a goo" or "because I love ya." We love ya, too, Mike!
Yes, me too! it was a great binge!
Adore this guy. I hope he’s making a killing off all the work he does.
The best binge ever for me

Wow, your a creep!!!! Stalk much?????? You're either a straight up creeper or your giving over the top praise hoping others will throw praise back at you. I think you're a creep that needs attention from anyone and you don't get enough from people you know so your trying to get it from strangers. Congrats on that!!!! You're getting plenty of liked to your comment so you're successful!!!!
Quinn Gray. Sounds like a name given to the protagonist of a low quality crime fantasy book. I also doubt that any genuine kidnapped person forced to write a ransom letter would manage such lovely handwriting. I'd be shaking like a leaf and hence letter almost illegible.
Actually there’s a Quinn Gray who was an NFL QB.
@@nhmooytis7058
He's really a private eye.
The kidnapper would be right over her shoulder watching what she writes while he dictates them & be like, "make sure you add an exclamation point or two at the end of the sentence to highlight the seriousness of the situation you're in," 😂
If you think this story has a happy ending, just remember that the husband now owes that psychopath alimony every month for the divorce.
Oh you're not wrong!
How did she get NO prison time at all? At least 2 months or more. And oddly, the first ransom note was in cursive writing while the second one to the mom was printed.
This one just blew me away lol I actually thought hubby and wifey was in on it together but what a climax this was ..fantastic detective work even though real kidnappers DO NOT release people with no payment lol
"We don't negotiate with terrorists..." is exactly what I say/said to my child when they were younger.
Me too.
😅😂🤣
Sounds like a lovely child. You must be so proud.
@@markstevens1729 Probably more proud of her kids than your mother is.
7 years probation. What a slap to the face of actual kidnapping victims.

It kind of floored me when I didn’t hear the usual music at the start of your other videos. Almost thought RUclips added a THIRD ad until I saw your face! Lol
It's really sad how easily mankind can lie. Scary. She didnt count on him recording. Thank God he did that or most bleeding hearts would have fallen for her shenanigans.
Hitting me with the second case this week that I've never heard of before! Much love from across the pond!
Just gave you a shout out on the Lordan Arts channel about Graham Lecher! Love you two!
Misery Machine !! I love your channel as well as That Chapter 🙂
Right?!?! The only content I listen to or watch is True Crime, for many many years & I always love coming across cases I’ve never heard of before. You two often cover cases that are vastly unreported, that’s why I love The Misery Machine channel as well🙂. This is the second time I came across you in the comments section of another Crime YT channel recently, hello friends!
MIKE IS THE MASTER MIND.

“I have more than enough evidence to charge you on just her word alone” yo that’s a scary thing to hear from a detective when you didn’t actually kidnap the crazy woman. How do people get talked into doing dumb things like this? O.o
That also shows how detectives are not above lying to get a confession (true or not).
A lot of people with mental illness also have a manipulative lifestyle not all people with mental illness do, they work in our communities we're friends with them
@@BlaqueRose23 yes they are willing to lie to a suspect to get a confession. It’s kind of a popular and effective tactic.

After watching a lot of true crime media I agree it's scary to hear that coming from a detective, but not shocking at all.
You should do a video on serial killer Stephen Peter Morin who is also known as “the forgotten serial killer” & “the chameleon”
Missed ya Mike, I took a break as I am a binge watcher and like watching your episodes when I got time to watch a few. Love the content. Keep safe 🙏
That ransom note reminded me of the Ramsey kidnapping note... which was just as unbelievable too.
I love this channel, and I look forward to every upload. I love these for my work mornings at the office.
THANK YOUUU
I love when you do cases that are close to my home. I'm from Jacksonville so it's right in my area! Love it
She gives a bad taint to those who truly suffer from bipolar disorder.
Thanks mike as always for being entertaining as always and telling this stories in a respectful way
Nah, intelligent people will know mental illness isn't that simple and the idiots should be ignored more.
My uncle is bipolar and while he does have violent tendencies during his manic episodes, he always takes his meds, side effects and all, because he's so scared of hurting anyone. Mentally ill people are individuals and humans too after all.
Unfortunately that happens often.
I'm bipolar II. I have more downs than ups. When I'm manic, I shop. Not all people blame their bad behavior on their mental illness. Take your meds, and you'll be fine. I'm so sick of people using bipolar disorder for an excuse for the horrible things they do. You still have your morals!
My SIL is bipolar and leading my brother through hell. But I also have friends who are bipolar and aren’t horrible people. So yeah, the illness doesn’t help for sure, but it’s not an excuse.
I’m sorry a bad what
Edit: SPOILER!!!
It’s refreshing to see an episode that didn’t end in murder. Just a couple of muppets, doing muppet things.
Lmao muppets doing muppet things🤣

as they say, play stupid games, win stupid prizes :D
Right? Both the husband and the wife sound awful and exhausting to be around. I think for punishment, they should be forced to remain married 😂

I grew up in Ponte Vedra and the multiple mispronunciations are hilarious. Thanks for making my day Mike!
Not one comment mentioned the 2 life insurance policies the husband took out days before the kidnapping. I feel the husband found out about Jasmine and his wife and want him to take her out of the picture. Hence Mike's Life Insurance Dance Rave. 💃 🕺 💃 🕺 Love it! Always the best story teller Mike. Thank you
Yes that’s curious. Perhaps he was an the verge of sorting his wifey issue himself, but then this happened. Phew, he deserved better I think.
I GAGGED at the twists and turns of this psychopath trying to get away with it. Its surprising that she and Yasmin didn't serve a day behind bars though ... Great episode Mike, thanks.
Just for wasting everyone's time at least a couple of years was called for.
Agree! They should have served at least 6month to a year, but as crazy as they both clearly are, I’d be shocked if they didn’t violate while on probation🤷🏽♀️
So the 2 life insurance policies? Just a CoincidAnce? Or are we missing a BIG part of the plot (!)?… And how did they tie up 100 officers and almost $100,000 and just get parole? Did the husband pay off the court? Maybe Yasmin was working for the husband (for money) from the start (at the gas station) but then switched sides to get money + sex (?…
Money talks
@@peterwelsh1932 possible, there was so many crazy twists & turns in this case, I actually forgot about that! Like when the “kidnapped” wife first contacted her husband on the phone, he said, “okay, I love you!” in the most upbeat, almost giddy tone, that made me immediately suspicious of him!
very helpful hostage. will happily relay money drop instructions to others and yell at them for you. 10/10 will kidnap agian.
mike you are so good at not giving away the ending cus i was actually shocked that they knew each other the entire time, the way she lied to police and her husbands so convincingly is soooo psychopathic
The title of the video though.... I found her performance unbelievable even if the title hadn't flat out told you she was lying. She sounded more angry than scared.
Michael, you are a king.🤴Thank you for including captions with the video
As much as I love true crime and especially this channel, I find that hearing about all of the different murder cases is weighing on my heart even though Mikes's delivery typically helps to lighten things a bit. I do, however, really enjoy the failed hitman for hire cases and cases such as this one where the criminal is foiled without actual loss of life.
Same here.
I also feel theres far too many murders . Makes me scared of males .
@@krisbest6405 Don't be. Most people, including men, are decent people. It is scary though how the creeps seem to find each other, however from these stories we also know that many a friend has turned in their murderous buddy.
While you should always take care, and recognise that a friendly affable person does not necessarily mean they're a nice person, you should also know that the chances of you dying at the hands of some evil freak are very slim.
@Carlos Spicyweiner But don't look up hippos chasing boats! That's terrifying.

I suggest tracking down the film Ruthless People, it's pretty much a kidnapping turned into a farce and starred some of the best in comedy from the 80's....Danny Divito and Judge Reinhold alone carry the movie but bette midler was awesome as well
