You are an extremely talented documentarian. I have always appreciated your concise and direct style of story telling. Thank YOU for all the years of informative entertainment.
good lord, i'm an insurance agent and in May of 1998 I was 28 years old and 8 months pregnant. We were exactly the same when she was murdered. My daughter just turned 24 this past summer. This makes me so sad. 😭
I had my daughter that month at the age of 24. Her little one would be doing so many great things if they had a chance at life. What a shame she and her beautiful baby didn't survive this parasite.
@@SLAMBANGO the point I was making is that my daughter has been able to live 24 years at this point. Something that poor baby wasn't able to do. The woman could have spent the last 24 years loving her child, yet she never got to meet her. 24 years. It's just so sad how much life was taken away. Compassionate people think along those lines. Selfish people who never experienced real tragedy make fun of other people's tragedies...
I fucking love you, dude. The topic is so dark and sad, but you're so positive and upbeat in such a way that honours the victims and (for lack of a better word) "playfully(?)" Shames the scum that perpetrates these horrid crimes. Specifically the life insurance bit. Too good, mate! Keep it up!
You know just the right amount of humor to add to these incredibly dark and heavy topics. It never takes away from the seriousness of the story. That is 1 of the many reasons why Mike has one of my absolute favorite channels!

@@truenokill Spot on! They need to have a psyche evaluation at the very least, I've thought that many times since it's often the motive for so many spousal murders. My father married a lady who took life insurance out on him without his knowledge and he started passing out and waking up 24 hours later covered in his own waste etc..she had been putting her anxiety meds in his drinks. After this happened several times he knew something was wrong and he was lucky enough to answer the phone when she was laying down and it was her insurance agent wanting her to know that the 100k life insurance on my father had taken effect and wanted her to return the call. My father cancelled it and got the hell out of there. She had been telling people what she was up to and no one had let my father know until after he left her. Evil lady.
I think the story Todd cooked up served 2 purposes: 1. He had to make up a story so convuluted and bizarre only an idiot like Norm would believe it. 2. The fantasy served his clearly narcissistic ego.
hear, hear. You'd think within the shallow depths of Todd's imagination conjuring tales of espionage, spies, assassins, shadowy foreign figures - businesses and governments -- wheelin' & dealin' with "the big boys" he could've fabricated a more alluring name for the group than "The Company"

Mike I truly love your videos but this one in particular is my most favorite. Why? Your adorable comical side was in full swing. The role playing you did of the call from "The Company " and the ridiculous idea that someone actually believed that followed by your insurance dance put me into a laughing fit. This story was so outrageous. You told it with flair. Thank you for being you. Your fans love you so very much.

You definitely are the best true crime narrator on RUclips! The way you find a way to make a crazy crime light and funny but still respecting the victims is absolutely genius. I truly believe it is your genuine personality that draws people in. And the life insurance dance is spot on. No matter how bad of a day I've had watching one of your videos always brightens it. Thank you for all the work you put into your videos.

Agreed, considering that the Provo's would have made sure that the men who killed a pregnant woman for life insurance died while screaming. Hell they would have made sure that even an experienced medical examiner barfed in their mouth over this one...

Good grief Mike, where do you find these cases!? One of my favorite things about your channel is that you find the ones I haven't seen or heard anywhere else. 😊 Also you're the only one who can make me laugh without taking away from the tragedy of the story. Thank you for a great 30 minutes! 😊

Not paying child support, which some men consider robbery (as my ex said, "You'll take care of our kid anyway, no matter what, so what do you need MY money for?") can be a big motivation, and a reason why it had to happen before baby ever saw the light of day. Sad story, stupid people always live too long.
He’s no different than those who are for abortion because murder is murder and it just shows how sick people are to try and put stipulations on murder.
Hey Barb, did you know it's not uncommon for men to have no natural bond to their children until birth? A few of my friends and family members have shared this amongst us, and I can say that my first was this way for me, also. Not that I even wished harm to her, but that bonding feeling came when I saw her head crown. Also, with my other girls, I felt that fatherly bond around the beginning of the second trimester of pregnancy.
What’s wrong with divorce? Why do these people always make the choice to murder someone instead of divorce? Yeah, yeah, I know, life insurance!! But how many people actually get away with murder long enough to get the life insurance? None! Great story Mike. I’ve gotta say, Tuesdays and Fridays are my favorite days because I get to hear a new and crazy story!!!!
They do get away with it. Remember, you only hear about the ones who were caught. The others? Tragic widowers who got a well deserved life insurance policy to get them through such tough times. You would have no idea. I mean, look at how unbelievably stupid this group was. Someone with some brains, they not only get away with it, right on this channel there was an episode about a guy who killed several of his wives before he got caught. But he was very intelligent.
They also don't want to pay spousal and child support so it gets rid of that too. Even though you divorce, I can't understand how you wouldn't still care about your child. I'm a pretty selfish person sometimes but bloody hell that's cold.
Thankfully didn’t get full force of hurricane, and this upload couldn’t come at a better time, still cleaning up debris, not only your work ,but it’s you Mike, you seriously make our days, you’re editing your inserts, just everything mate, So back to it from Florida, Great health and happiness to ya,and a phenomenal weekend✌🏻💕😎
Todd is actually my moms cousin, I’m sure I met him at family reunions when I was small, but have no real memory of it. My mom said she always thought he was weird. This is not the only murder to happen in our family either. Like 10 years ago my moms other cousin, who was like my aunt, was killed by her husband in a murder suicide. He had been hugely financially in debt, and they were coming to repossess the house the day he murdered her. She had no idea… this family is pretty messed up.
My fraternal grandfather was murdered and so was my brother. While my grandfathers murder was never really even investigated, my brothers murderer, though never arrested, died a few years after his murder of a heart attack. Was dead two weeks before anyone bothered to check on her.
I will say people in the music scene (especially the 80’s Portland Oregon music scene!) are often described as the weirdos by the extended family, but it seems like your mom was genuinely picking up on his "creepy, violent, antisocial"-vibe beyond just the usual "he dresses strange and likes different music"-vibe.
I saw this story on some crime show years ago and I thought well they really got a patsy. Actually the only thing that would have made it other than the perfect crime would have probably been when he talked to Norman on the phone to say "what the hell were you thinking killing my wife? The company? What is that?? You're crazy you're insane!!" and Norman would have been looked at as insane making up all of this unbelievable stuff and those two plotting lovers would have gotten off Scott free. Thank God they aren't that smart.
Ir still would've fallen apart, because Todd would still show to the funeral with Lynn. That would still raise eyebrows, especially since Norm mentioned her name already as a part of another "assassination job". Then they would check the emails, which are the proper proof of them plotting. I mean, hell, I don't even think they needed Norm to be a donut for it to fall apart. You always look at the spouse first, so they would just have to find the emails really and go from there. They were idiots on many levels.
Oiy Mikey! The clips of you made me spit out my tea! Life insurance dance is CLASSIC of course. Thanks for the wonderful story telling and the constant amusement. While still being respectful. Outstanding as usual! 💙
especially LIFE INSURANCE!!!! why do these nutsacks think they're going to get away with leaving dead bodies all over the place and rumble up to the insurance office thinking that they're gonna get a massive motherlode? I mean COME ONNNN YOU REDLEGGED IDJITS
You’d think one of the first rules for this supposed “Company” of assassins would be to not give an assignment to someone who has known ties to said assignment. That’s, like, one of the main circumstances that enables them to do their “jobs” without becoming part of the suspect pool.
Netflix need to have you on there with a programme of your own, loving the insurance dance, making your die hard fans laugh with your story ,but still respectful to the victim .

How do people ever entertain these conversations of murder let alone go along to execute then. So, no part of the plan involves getting caught and spending the rest your life in jail? Just crazy
The reason we don't murder each other is not fear of prison,it's just the right thing to do , otherwise thier would be no society,at least not a sane one, seams like we are devolving to it though.

good lord, i'm an insurance agent and in May of 1998 I was 28 years old and 8 months pregnant.
@Frank Lee 😆
Oh my god! I was just thinking how that if I was born 24 yrs ago I would be 24 yrs old right now.

It's almost like when ppl get life insurance the sales agent should ask, if you have any plans to kill your spouse you can't have this policy.
Evil lady.
@@equaljusticeforall7929 wow! Maybe they should start finding insurance agents liable!
I think the story Todd cooked up served 2 purposes:
1. He had to make up a story so convuluted and bizarre only an idiot like Norm would believe it.
2. The fantasy served his clearly narcissistic ego.
Yip, you covered all the bases there 👍
hear, hear. You'd think within the shallow depths of Todd's imagination conjuring tales of espionage, spies, assassins, shadowy foreign figures - businesses and governments -- wheelin' & dealin' with "the big boys" he could've fabricated a more alluring name for the group than "The Company"
Quite obvious he was a narcissist by that phone convo 🤣
It's the utmost irony that Todd's wonderful storytelling skills will come in handy in prison. He has a captive audience!
3. To get his friend to kill his wife

Not paying child support, which some men consider robbery (as my ex said, "You'll take care of our kid anyway, no matter what, so what do you need MY money for?") can be a big motivation, and a reason why it had to happen before baby ever saw the light of day.
Sad story, stupid people always live too long.

Your show is getting me through a rough time, so thanks Mike!
If they divorced... with a baby on the way, he'd have spousal support and child support payments....POS!!!....
They also don't want to pay spousal and child support so it gets rid of that too. Even though you divorce, I can't understand how you wouldn't still care about your child. I'm a pretty selfish person sometimes but bloody hell that's cold.

Actually the only thing that would have made it other than the perfect crime would have probably been when he talked to Norman on the phone to say "what the hell were you thinking
killing my wife? The company? What is that?? You're crazy you're insane!!"
and Norman would have been looked at as insane making up all of this unbelievable stuff and those two plotting lovers would have gotten off Scott free.
