I had been telling my kids about old TV sign offs, and had told them before about The Lords Prayer being said, and I remebered a picture being shown of Satan that used to scare the heck out of me! Unbelieveable, after searching for this sign off years ago, here it is. Thanks for the memories
Yes, I have also been searching for this Lord's Prayer sign-off for years for the same reason as you. Everyone I've spoke with regarding it doesn't remember it (including my brother whom has seen it with me 1000 times). I wasn't sure if it was PBS channel 10/36 or channel 18 Milwaukee. Now if I can only find the accompanying audio included with the video - why TV Madman has excluded it in this video I can only speculate. The TV Madman has let us down, I'll have to keep searching.
It's clearly in the description. Due to music rights issues, I have chosen to leave out the musical portion of "The Lord's Prayer." The entire video would otherwise be completely unavailable. No speculation needed. Sorry you feel let down.
Oh, how ironic. Lynn Redgrave was doing a commercial on breast milk (which was interrupted to technical difficulties for some reason), and she died of breast cancer in 2010.
"This completes today's programming on WVTV, which operates on Channel 18. WVTV, with studios and transmitter located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is owned and operated by the Gaylord Broadcasting Company. Programs telecast by this station may not be used for any other purpose except exhibition at the time of their broadcast on receivers in places where no admission, cover or mechanical operating charges are made. WVTV operates on an assigned frequency of four-hundred ninety-four to five-hundred megahertz. We now close our programming day with the National Anthem."
Good sign-off production. I especially liked the National Anthem accompanying NASA footage from the moon. But the Lord's Prayer video needs some proper background music. All those images run SILENTLY, with the SLOW fade-out at the end, was (Dare I say it?) a bit creepy for near 1 a.m.
Weak stations without a new team should have news readers who double in other functions in the tv station. They do more news in 15 minutes than most newscasts.
Some of these news stories still hit home 40 years later.
This station DOES play the national anthem about 2 guys going to the moon with the flag, not similar to KING-TV. Splendid!

Scary. Wake up in the middle of the night to catch that.
It’s called TV Station Sign Off Phobia. Or Satan Phobia
I'm glad you got into fountain pens. I wish I could write like you. RIP
RIP Susan -- the Pen Godmother. I didn't know of your former career, only as the 'anchor' of countless pen shows over the decades. You'll be missed!
how do you know she was the pen godmother

Looks like she is about to fall asleep herself.

I removed the music or it would have been blocked entirely.
WMVT 36 Shorewood - Opening w/ Nat’l Anthem (January 29 2013)
This newswoman is about to fall asleep herself.
looks like the woman is about to fall asleep herself
Do you know the performers of the Lord's Prayer music? I can remember this being broadcast, but I don't know the performers.
I remember when bob beringer did the severe weather bulletins on channel 18
I was a kid in the 70’s and he scared the hell out of me with that voice during the storm warnings 😃
I wonder if that story about the foreign -botn soldier who fied in Vietnam was resolved.
I like the News better now when it was just one person on Channel 18 it made me want to fall asleep !!
I remember the announcer. His name was Bob Berringer.
Oops! I see Bob Beringer's name there.
That fact is already mentioned in the description for this video.
19:35 Well, I'm not sleeping tonight!
19:35 jump cut to 👹
Was the Lord’s Prayer film from the 1950’s?

Methinks she's reading AP wirecopy - ripped right off the machine.
Why no audio for the Lord's Prayer?
It's in the description. I do not want a copyright strike, so I have omitted the recording. Play your own instead, it's more fun!
@@TheTVMadman OK thank you 😃
21:24
Why did they remove the audio from the lord's prayer?
It says it right in the description. Copyright claim would have made the video completely unwatchable and blocked worldwide.
