Nice Monitor,Head of Meat Popsicles 👍😁
i have this monitor and i can say its INSANE!!!
How great is it 👍😎 glad you're happy with it too
How’s it holding up? Everything good?
@@paris6240 for me its good, though have noticed in dark places it real dark in cyberpunk 2077 so had to adjust the ingame brightness. as i said in another reply hopefully soon make another video showing each mode in 2-3 games.
Is the Asus vg289q still a great buy today? or is there any new version of vg289q about to come out? Planning to use this for casual gaming on a console ps4 pro or ps5, maybe some video and photo editing, browsing and movies.
i think for casual gaming its great, there are new acer and asus models with 4k 120fps but theyre on the high end too
Hey man, so just wanted to confirm, with this monitor were you able to achieve 60 fps, 4k when playing games in performance mode? Like miles morales for instance?
hmm good question, i will check tomorrow night during stream or just before stream
I'm about to stream and play it now in 40k60fps performance mode 👍
yea it works with 4k60fps, will upload the raw footage in a 24 hours and the 4k60fps should appear after another day or 2 (RUclips processing time)
Apparently you can put a song on a USB stick and trasfer it to the ps5 and make it play on your home screen
correct :)
How ?
Can you hook up external speakers like the creative pebble ones to this monitor if you wanted too?
Hi Peen Papi, its got a earphone jack (3.5mm jack) so yes itll work with the Creative Pebble *thumbs up*
If you’re using your headphones can you also turn the volume up by using the internal speakers volume bar?
@@peenpapi4993 if you plug in your headphones into the monitor, i believe you can. ill check it out in the next two days
Is the Samsung U28R550UQU better or worse than this monitor?
Hey man! I have the same monitor. Picture quality and colors are excellent. Only issue and I'm wondering if you know what I mean is there's a lot of banding. Basically layering to shades. Sky's for example in games is extremely distracting
i only spotted that abit in cyberpunk 2077, i just played outriders and it looked good
@@socketmix thanks for reply. I found that turning the "4k video transfer rate" to -2 in the ps5s video settings fixed this issue!
@@lotrcod4life nice good to know, i may test that out just to see the difference
@@lotrcod4life hi i have same issues whit HDR games on PS4 pro , banding in the Sky ecc ecc , on My PS4 pro i dont have this on the video settings ....
@@Nick_93 hmm not sure what to tell you brother. Changing the 4k transfer rate fixed mine at the cost of less color, but it's hardly noticeable. Hope ya can figure it out !
How is the input lag/response time on this? I can't find any reviews on rtings.com
here is displayninja review: www.displayninja.com/asus-vg289q-review/ and toms hardware review: www.tomshardware.com/reviews/asus-tuf-gaming-vg289q-4k-monitor
Hey would you recommend this 4k what you took or ASUS TUF Gaming 27" 2K HDR Curved Monitor (VG27WQ1B) - Please note this is only for PS5 and work not for Gaming pc
thats a good question, im not fond of curved monitors or tvs but one mate has a curved monitor and says its good with playstation. give me a day or so just to check the specs of VG27wq1b and ill get back here.
@@socketmix thank you so much
@@kapish2222 The VG27WQ1B is pretty good, it can do 1920x1080 @ 120Hz, 2560x1440 @120Hz AND 3840x2160 @ 60Hz on one of the hdmi ports. check displayninja, rtings and toms hardware websites for reviews of the VG27WQ1B
@@socketmix awesome thanks
Hi Chiller, is it possible to descale the resolution on the monitor to 1440p and get higher Hz/FPS?
Hi Johan, no its max is 60hz(fps) at all resolutions. which i think is a fair compromise for what is offers in bang for buck
hi is this good choice or 2k 27 inch 165hz monitor for casual gaming ?
Hi Mr Babels, for casual gaming a 2k 27inch monitor 165hz is a good choice too, what games are you playing if i may ask?
My Ps5 says HD not supported I have the asus vp28UQGR 4K UHD monitor is there a setting on monitor I need to change to get HD to work thanks
Hi Joe, as per the specs on your monitor on the asus website for VP28uqgr - it does not support HDR, sorry to say.
I have the same one if you turn down the resolution to maybe 1080p will it then be able to play in 120fps I have the Xbox series x
Hi Todd Sheasby, no the Asus VG289Q does not have 120hz(120fps) refer to the manual page 3-10 and 3-11 it only does 60hz(fps) for 4k and 1080p
@@socketmix okay I don’t quite have the same model mine is VP28UQG on Amazon it says it has refresh rate of 144HZ does that mean it can do 120fps?
@@toddsheasby4620 hmm the Asus VP28UQG manual states display port does 60hz(fps) at 1920x1080(full hd), the hdmi 2.0 ports(both hdmi ports) does 60hz in 1920x1080,2k and 4k. at lower resolutions it does higher hz(fps)
@@socketmix oh right I guess I’ll try it and see
hi, I ordered this monitor for my ps5..I just saw some customer reviews on Amazon and many are saying that this monitor does not support 60hz on 4k with HDMI is it true?
I wanna know about this to but I think imma buy that Ben q
@@Unplug-the-cord yeah mann...but I already ordered mine got better deal on asus
@@kainntness303 I just want the best for my money honestly
it supports 4k60hz both hdmi and dp
@@Unplug-the-cord BenQ EL2870U 28inch is good too has slightly faster refresh rate, mate got it
How does gaming in 1440p look on this monitor. does the image look blurry?
Hi Hani to be honest i havent tried 1440p only 4k. sorry
Could you please post your settings for your monitor. I'm trying to play dmc5 in 4k 60fps and everything looks washed out. What settings can I use for best color?
ill check tomorrow and let you know Anthony Horton
*hdr is asus gaming hdr
*adaptive sync free sync on (but i dont think that does anything on ps5
*try each gaming visual:
scenery
racing
cinema
fps mode - i use fps mode
rts/rpg
srgb
moba
and user mode is manual
*these are all on the asus monitor, may have to fiddle with ps5 hdr dark and light AND also ingame hdr settings.
so check all 3 things
@@socketmix Thanks bro much appreciated!
I think the hdr does that
Is anyone using this on a series x?
It is a good monitor for ps5
Great monitor 4k 28inch hdr 60hz its real nice
@@socketmix i thought it was 4K ultra HD
@@hicham2533 it is 4k ultra hd. ultra hd is another name for 4k
Nope it dont have 444 and my ps5 hates this monitor in 4k with hdr you dont get RGB/yuv444 u get 4k hdr with a chroma sample of YUV422🤮🤮
Do you like the Monitor? I bought it yesterday for the ps5.
yes SeZo Demir its great ive had no issues with it
At the end, why did you choose the ASUS over BenQ?
if i recall the adjustable movement of the monitor, less washed out and better colours and hdr. these were somewhat improvements. my mate got the benq and it has better gtg(ms time) which he prefers. i got it based on my budget and im happy with it.
@@socketmix Thank you very much for the reply! I'm also gonna get the Asus for my upcoming PS5
@@gaijin7968 all good anytime, happy gaming
@@gaijin7968 all good, and happy gaming~
@@socketmix One more question :)) I read somewhere that the Freesync only works for the Displayport, not the HDMI. Do you know by any chance? I read that PS5 confirmed an update that would add the VRR.
How do I connect the monitor to my ps5 sorry in really new to console and it's my first ever time having one if I'm getting this monitor will it work with ps5?
yea it works with ps5, use the hdmi cable that came with the ps5 plug everything in and go. any questions ask.
@@socketmix wow thank you man this helped me alot :)
Does it have built in speakers?
Hi Robbo1010, no it only has an earphone jack (3.5mm audio jack) which you can use to plug in any speakers with the audio jack
Do you guys notice a yellow tint when using hdr? I believe it’s a warm colour temp. I want to change it. Does anyone know how?
hmm havent noticed, maybe change the mode game, movie etc..
@@socketmixit got fixed when I reseted
@@JB-sg4bn it's the age old solution - good stuff
@@socketmix I don't like the hdr, do you?
@@JB-sg4bn mine looks good bit dark in some games but ive adjusted it accordingly. ill have to play with it more after new years
Hi ! With this monitor Can WE play 1080p/120hz ??😃
The monitor is capped at 60hz
As Rogu3 said 60hz max
Could you see if this monitor does 1080p at 120hz please
no it does not, only 1090p at 60hz and 4k at 60hz
Whats the ms speed tho
Hi Kashouri its 5ms, if you wanting faster check out the BenQ EL2870U 28” 4K HDR 1ms Gaming Monitor with B.I.+ , as ive said before my final choices were asus, benq, samsung, lg in the $500-$600aud price range tough choice
Hi how are you liking the monitor? I'm thinking of getting it
yea im enjoying its been good to me, cant complain i need to make another video...some time lol was meant to do it 2 months. but if you go through the comments ive answered nearly all of the q's
Bonjour, je voudrais savoir si ce moniteur possède le paramètre trace free pour éviter le goshting gaming ? Merci d'avance
Hi Sylvain, yes it does have the trace free parameter 👍
Dunno if this monitor will perform well when playing fallout 4.
This monitor will be fine for fallout 4
@@socketmix I have a gaming rig but many are telling me to go with 1440p 170hz since I own an rtx 3080 gpu and i7 12700k processor. I mainly play single player open world 3rd person games.
@@Just-Ignore-It_88 if you want higher frame rate go for different monitor this does 60fps freesync
Is it 1ms response time
No, its 5ms as per the my description
Was there any screen tearing?
No i dont have screen tearing Abdullah Hussain.
@@socketmix Thanks
Im between this monitor and LG 27UL650W, which is better?
Hi SirAlvaro7 I think that LG was in my final 4 monitors there was a benq and Samsung too very hard choice. i recommend checking reviews of both from displayninja and Tom's hardware websites also compare specs. If you have any questions ask here or DM me on twitter /instaG
