Thank you for your videos. You actually go in depth about why a certain monitor would be best for a certain system, instead of just throwing out a list of what are the “supposed” best monitors out there.
At 4:18 where you talk about G-Sync compatible. Yes AMD cards are compatible. For reference, "G-Sync compatible" IS Freesync. As is VESA VRR. There might be some mild differences/customizations between Freesync Premium and VRR, but for the most part they're all the same. I do not however know what makes VESA VRR in the HDMI 2.1 spec different from Freesync Premium to the point where the PS5 won't enable it. It "should" just work the same. Especially since it was AMD who first introduced Freesync to the VESA standard in the first place. G-Sync used to require a module for any usage (unless you were on a laptop in which case Nvidia just used Freesync and called it G-Sync anyway). But due to Nvidia's G-Sync module costing about $200, where FreeSync was "free", Nvidia wasn't gaining enough adoption due to the cost that added to monitors. And because of the laptop situation, everyone knew Nvidia cards were more than capable of using Freesync anyway, but Nvidia was just arbitrarily blocking it because they wanted to force Nvidia GFX card owners to buy G-Sync specific monitors that had the $200 G-Sync module. Eventually, there was a combination of enough consumer and industry pushback and lack of adoption that Nvidia finally unlocked their cards to use Freesync, calling it "G-Sync Compatible". So if you see a monitor that claims "G-Sync Compatible". That' means it's a Freesync monitor. Not a G-Sync monitor. A lot of companies just call it "G-Sync Compatible" for marketing purposes despite the confusion it causes. At absolute most, "G-Sync Compatible" simply means a Freesync monitor that has been tested by Nvidia to work with Nvidia graphics cards without issue. Nothing more. There are some first gen Freesync monitors that won't be considered "G-Sync Compatible", but basically any monitor using "Freesync 2"(later rebranded to "Freesync Premium") or better are all basically automatically called "G-Sync Compatible". Mainly because 1st gen Freesync didn't support LFC (Low Framerate Compensation). Which was added for the Freesync 2 standard. The G-Sync module does still exist though. But it's only in monitors that are marketed under the "G-Sync Ultimate" branding. And as you might guess, it still adds about $200 to the cost of the monitor. It's so identifiable, it has been seen many times where you'll see two monitors release, where the only two differences between them are the G-Sync module and the price. One recent notable example is the Dell AW3423DW and AW3423DWF. Monitors are mostly the same hardware wise. The big difference. The DW has G-Sync Ultimate (using the module) and the DWF uses Freesync Premium Pro. And as can also be guessed. The DW was $200 more expensive than the DWF is now. One surprising change. The DWF also has user upgradable firmware and the DW does not. Turns out, as confirmed by Dell, the reason the DW doesn't have user upgradable firmware is because the Nvidia G-Sync module makes that impossible, because it requires a special tool. Dell now no longer sells the DW. You can pretty much see why. In short, if a monitor says "G-Sync Compatible", that means it's Freesync (Freesync Premium or better), not G-Sync. So yes, AMD cards will work just fine.
If you're asking why HDMI 2.0 and not HDMI 2.1 which the Xbox Series X and S support, it is because there is no HDMI 2.1 to DisplayPort active adapter currently available on the market. Guys we can’t get 120fps on old gen because basically the 2.0 cap at 60hz
I'm looking at them in Amazon for like $150.oo an less ! Getting QHD at that price as well at 185 Hertz 1080p 27 an 24 at 1 ms an up. Curved. You going to make sure that there's a difference because you want it faster if you're playing multiplayer at least 120 or higher Hertz.. For one player you can play it at 4K 60 hz.
Yeah but if the monitor has a regular hdmi 2.0 port instead of the 2.1 then none of those features will matter because, like Mr. Audit said, 2.0 is limited to 18gbps as 2.1 is to 48gbps and I'm 99.9% sure that those $150 monitors that you see on Amazon doesn't have a hdmi 2.1 port. I've been looking and doing my research. The only budget friendly monitor that I could find costs $219USD (viotek gnv34dbe4, it's different from the regular gnv34dbe) it has 2 hdmi 2.1 ports, supports up to 144Hz but as we know ps5=120Hz, uwqhd 21:9 aspect ratio/ 3440x1440, HDR, 140% sRGB 4000:1 contrast ratio. For any console gamers reading this, this monitor is probably the only decent hdmi 2.1 monitor that you can get for such a great price with all the features that it has. Plus it's a 34" curve with a VA panel. Trust me, you won't find anything better or as good for such a price. Deuces ✌️

@marcusanglin4216 So there's just one thing that I noticed after receiving the monitor. On the Xbox, it's literally a plug and play. You'll get the option to do 4k at 120hz for some games like warzone even tho it's a 1440p monitor (basically, you can do 1440p120hz or 4k @120hz, whichever one you prefer) For the ps5, I had to buy an hdmi to displayport adapter cable for the 120hz option to work (4k120hz hdmi to displayport cable - $20 )..... it has 3 ends instead of 2 (Hdmi goes into ps5 - USB goes into outlet or the back of the ps5 - displayport goes into monitor) So far, I have no complaints
AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible are the same thing. AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible are similar, in fact, they're often cross compatible. Free sync works on Nvidia cards, and some monitors are validated as both NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified. This means they can be used with either an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card

Does monitor latency ADD to server latency (in-game ping) or is it absorbed by higher latency in game? Like if I’m connected to a game at 13 ms ping, does mo it ir latency add to that?
When it comes to Xbox, the only reason you would want an HDMI 2.1 monitor is if you are wanting to play games at a 4K resolution AND get more than 60fps at the same time. If you are someone who is fine with a 1440p picture at 120fps, then honestly any monitor that has AMD FreeSync will be great for you!

i have the same question. Like if i get a monitor that has fresync but doesnt support 2.1 is there gonna be more screen tearing etc bc we dont get that VRR?
Basically freesync only works on Xbox and vrr is ps5
Do I hafto buy a pc or can I just use the monite.
You can use the monitor with a console basically you want a high resolution rate and a hdmi 2.0 like say you play cod on a ps5 the ps5 is already 120fps but if ur monitor doesn’t have hdmi 2.0 it can only play up to around 60 fps so you wanna make sure you get the right one
what is the best monitor for xbox series x for under $200
What are your thoughts on the AOC Monitor LOL Edition AG275QXL to use for PS5?
Will I see the frames if I’m using a 1440p 165hz monitor on ps5?
You will see 1440p 120 fps, but only if you have a monitor and cable that supports atleast hdmi 2.0. Ngl hdmi 2.0 is really common so there's a big chance you're good to go😅
Only play warzone and pubg. Im on a 1080 monitor at the moment. Looking to go to 1440p. What would be the best purchase for €350 budget?
Gigabyte M28u
@ thanks buddy, just got one reduced from €589 to €359 👊
@@Zer0JusTice-qh8bc Glad I could help. Unfortunettly I'll have to settle with M27Q, might stretch the budget to 275€ for the M27Q X, but can't quite get to 359€.

Can I play my PS5 at 1440p 120 hz on a HDMI 2.0 input display?
Or does it get capped at 1080p?
Do you need hdmi 2.1 on ps5 or just hdmi
If the monitor does not have a display port of 1.4, is there any benefit in having a refresh rate of more than 144 hz?
For example some monitors are 165 to 180 hz and also feature hdr10 which is unable to run 1.2 displayport.
So where is the benefit?
I just need my 120fps and i am fine with that 😁
27" AOC Q27G2U/BK Gaming is this Good for ps5 to play on ??
hi, i'm looking for the best gaming monitor for my ps5 under 450euro, what would you raccomend?
Not sure but imo a samsung gaming monitor is pretty neat, just depends on your price-range cuz if it’s too big ur ps5’s fps will be stuck at 60.

Am i heard right? Freesync is useless without hdmi 2.1 port for my PS5? So i'll buy a good cheap QHD from Asus (VG27AQ). for gaming and productivity use.
I want to play 120fps on 1080p, what monitor do you recommend and which hdmi cable do i need.
Same bro I bought a xbox series x and I need to know
HDMI 2.1
then what's up with the videos that say ps5 now supports 1440p 120hz? would it not work on ultrawide without black bars

i have a ps5 so do i need a monitor with hdmi2.0 or a monitor with hdmi 2.1 if i want 120fps
I found a monitor that is for the series s that can run 165hz 1440p for $99
What one?
If I have a amd freesync 120 hertz and Xbox series s will I get 120 fps
Looking for a monitor I have about £150 what would you recommend I have a Xbox series x
If i use hdmi 2.1 but the port on the monitor is 1.4 will it limit me to 60Hz even if the monitor is 100Hz
Its my first time getting a monitor and it dose not have a HDMI 2.1 and its 1080p , 180hz will it be limited to 60hz ?
Hi!
Which HDMI-version do I need to get 1440p at 120Hz on Ps5. Getting different info on this. 2.0 or 2.1?
2.1😊
In 1440p resolution the 2.0 HDMI can achieve 120hz but the fps you get depend from how many fps the game gives.
But in 4K resolution you need 2.1 HDMI for 120hz
2.0b and 2.1
You need 16:9 ratio for the consoles.
I have g sync my monitor and I play in ps5 this is bad ?
Can I still use max fps for ps5 if it doesn’t have and HDMI 2.1
Do you need a HDMI switch to plug a ps5 and Xbox X into a monitor.
You just need an hdmi cable. You also need that for litterly every single tv that you're gonna connect with your ps5 and xbox series x so an hdmi cable is not some monitor exclusive thing lol😂
Do I need a moniter with a pc so I can play on my Xbox one s
Does ps5 have freesycn yet ? Cause I’m using it on my monitor with my ps5 …. Whoops
Can you recommend me a monitor for a ps5 pls under $300
Is fine to have a 170hz monitor for my console(xbox series s)?
Yea it is, as long as you didn't overspend to specifically get 170hz, cause your xbox series s can do 120hz maximum and not higher😅
Also a good monitor is the dell 3223q 🎉
Looking for the best ultra curve 2.1 monitor looking for 32or34
Does a 34inch ultrawide curved gaming monitor will work fine on the ps5?
I am looking for one as well, I have chosen the AOC CU34G2X/BK and I have watched some videos on it so I think, that it will work fine (can’t say 100% thou)
So playing on my 82” is dumb and I could be way better with a tiny tv!?
It's a TV, not supposed to play on a TV, watch movies only. A monitor is way better
I have 300 dollars and a Xbox series x. I usually play fortnite madden mlb the show and warzone and siege. What is the best monitor i can get. Not really looking for 4k and I want a 27 inch pls comment great monitors I would love and appreciate all the help. And can someone explain to me what most of this stuff means like I don’t even know what refresh time is

I’ve recently got myself a aoc cu34g2x/bk monitor for ps5 gaming. Although i did everything possible (correct hdmi cable, settings etc.) i’m only getting 60fps on r6 siege or fortnite. Can somebody help me what the problem may be?
So what about the Xbox series X issue to achieve 120fps to 1440p resolution monitor they fixed or must make alchemy's again?

I have a ps5, Xbox series s, and a laptop with an rtx 3060 anyone have recommendations for a monitor for all of them? Preferably one with g sync and I don’t care abt hdmi 2.1

Can i play 165hz on a ps5?
I need to know. I have a 100 hz monitor. Can I play at least 100hz on hdmi?
Yes 100hz will work with any hdmi connection whether it is hdmi 1.4, 2.0 or 2.1. Hdmi 1.4 does 1080p 144hz and both hdmi 2.0 and 2.1 do 1080p 240hz max
@@luukherfst1209 so does that mean a ps5 will just do 100 hertz?

I'm looking at the ASUS TUF Gaming monitors. I want a 1440p 120hz IPS monitor for around £300 that will be good enough for the PS5, but compatible with the PS4 for now. I have the standard PS4 currently but upgrading to the PS5 in the next 6 months. I need help please! 😂
I believe if it has hdmi 2.1 input then you’ll get the most out of your ps5 which as he stated the cheapest one is $500
Does the msi optix g32c4w have hdmi 2.1
Does monitor latency ADD to server latency (in-game ping) or is it absorbed by higher latency in game? Like if I’m connected to a game at 13 ms ping, does mo it ir latency add to that?
Monitor latency and ping are 2 separate things so no.
hey i have an asus gaming monitor VG279QM 27" and i was wondering if it supports hdmi 2.1 so i can play PS5 games with 1440p 120 hz
You should be able to check the ports on your monitor or just look it up
My friend said give him your addy cuz u lied about the hdmi 2.1 stuff

I’m coming off a tv and I’m tired of the delay I have a Xbox x and I want to know what would be the best Monitor and my budget is 250-300
Should I get the ASUS TUF Gaming 27" but I thought it need to be hdmi 2.1
When it comes to Xbox, the only reason you would want an HDMI 2.1 monitor is if you are wanting to play games at a 4K resolution AND get more than 60fps at the same time. If you are someone who is fine with a 1440p picture at 120fps, then honestly any monitor that has AMD FreeSync will be great for you!
Any higher end Samsung and Sony tv gives great times. I'm 11ms on a Sony x900h
I wanna do 1440p on 120hz
can you game 120fps on ps5 using a 1080p 165hz monitor with hdmi 2.0?
Yes, ps5 supports 120hz gameplay using hdmi 1.4 up, but only at 1080p
What are the downsides of using a ps5 on a monitor
Smaller than the usually
@@TheSkilledTroll10 but probably good for certain games especially if you plan to use mouse n key.

I can't see any other downside other than it's a waste of money if u have a tv.
@@dmo848monitors are superior to a tv. You don’t need speakers to play most of the time.
There are none other than the screen being smaller and maybe colors not being the best like tvs but if you’re a competitive gamer it doesn’t matter
Hello guys, I've got Sades M60 which is 165HZ and HDMI 2.1 and I'm using the PS5 cable which is also 2.1; however it's still saying your tv doesn't support vrr!!
I've not heard of that model before but when doing some searching I seem to be seeing conflicting info as to whether the HDMI port is 2.1 or 2. Is it possible the monitor does not actually have a 2.1 port?
@@TechAuditTV I’ve done some searching as well and it seems that there is no law preventing companies from using 2.1 marketing for a 2.0 monitors; kinda like the usb naming ,confusing and a lot of specifications. If this is not a fraud I don’t know what is! I bought this monitor specifically for the 2.1 hdmi.

Please help, I have a 1080p 144hz monitor, can I play at 120fps w the ps5?
yes
so basically. if the monitor is 1440p but doesnt support hdmi 2.1 then you’re better off grabbing a monitor thats 1080p that supports hdmi2.0
PS5 now supports 1440p with the latest update, so things have changed.
