the graphical update is minor. What's more important to me is better frame-rate- and maintained frame rate. If the PRO delivers more fluid FPS, it "might" be worth it, because the graphics are definitely NOT.
It minor for now, but I'm sure once developer get the hang of the pro it will be more than minor. Also if you have a 4k tv with HDMR then the graphics as of now is a major improvement. I know because I have battle field 1 and it's amazing

Locking in 30 graphics will change how you play, and alter your trigger reactions. the trade-off of better anti-aliasing/draw distance may have FAR less impact than the fluid motion of 60FPS; especially if the image enhance is almost irrelevant between PS4 to PRO
Galaxis Yes, I am aware the difference between FPS. I'm a PC player mainly, but also play on my PS4 Pro. 30 FPS is definitely less fluid but can "feel" fluid as if it was 60FPS if the developer spent time correcting the frame pacing issues and camera smoothing.

Whilst getting something decent for it before the new console. Only in FFXV, cuz they already said they didnt have time to optimize for the Pro, since this game was supose to be out before the Pro was even announced. We will see later on the patchs they will be adding later on in december and next year. Also you wouldnt notice any difference on youtube cuz first of all you dont have a 4k screen for sure and even if you do, the video doesnt. So you are automatically watching everything at 1080p not 4k or upscaled 4k. Even tho i can see few difference, like in the terrain, when the character walks on the grass and on the reflections. They arent big, but they are notable if you see straight into them, as i said they havent done much optimization for Pro on FFXV game. Also fps will be almost 2 times more than the normal PS4, the demo is already running at 40-50 fps, while PS4 standard holds 25-30fps. The console is not worth if you already have a PS4, but if you dont, then is definetely worth 100€ more for better fps and graphics. Even better if you have 4k tv with hdr cuz then you will really notice the differences.

There's a slight different. Xbox One's resolution is a little lower. It's not something I would notice without a side-by-side this, though. Not enough to make a real difference. I'm more disappointed by how overhyped the Pro has been. I see a little bit more sharpness with the Pro over the PS4 here, and their hair has more detail, but that's basically it.
PS4 PRO looks MUCH better. Also has a superior performance. And of course it plays in 4K which is a HUGE upgrade. And for the icing it also supports HDR on 4K. Trust me the difference is HUGE.
I can see PS4 solves a lot of antialiasing problems in consoles. But we will only see the true difference if you upload this in 4K, meanwhile we we watch it in a 4K screen too.
The new PS4 Pro only handles for 4k at 30 FPS, which a GTX 1060 can already handle. ;) VR is still crap, if I think about the best VR Headset for now only handles 1600x900 resolutions. :/ My old 3D TV already was a 1080p screen, so I wait for a real VR experience when a 1080p headset comes out. ;) (\ô/)
Thanks for the upload. From what I have seen so far with PS4-PS4 Pro comparisons, the Pro has anti-aliasing and slightly better lighting (aside from 4k support). For those of us with 1080p monitors, anti-aliasing is cool, as I find the jagged look of games on my PS4 a touch annoying sometimes. I'm not sure if it justifies the cost quite yet though. If they start releasing games with higher definition texture packs for the Pro, that would probably make me reconsider.
For those of you can't tell the diff. between the Pro and what I call "lite-gen" versions of the game, the Pro seems to have: - better aliasing (that's obvious, especially against the XBO; save for select areas and certain animations for character meshes, the XBox version has a lot more jaggies) - better (anisotropic) texture filtering (meaning that the textures look cleaner and load better while in motion and from any view angle) - better LOD resolution (the Xbox version has noticeable blurriness in distant and even semi-distant textures; that is, they look softer like in a haze of air or something. The PS4 / lite version does not have as much but it is still present compared to Pro). - actual ambient occlusion (shadows where light should logically be blocked, like corners between walls, ceilings and floors, but the AO is not that great in any console anyway) And more importantly: resolution. Even if none of these things were true, background textures POP at you (and that's important, because frontground textures always look good in well-made games). Higher resolution doesn't just mean better crystal-clear clarity, or more details in the same volume/area of screen space... it means textures friggin pop out at you too. You will not see the sharpness of the textures as much as you will live; video streaming other forms of encoded playback like RUclips's ruins this with something akin to data loss that comes from the information formatting process. Hardware with more VRAM mean the textures themselves have larger sizes or mip-maps or whatever, so you'll see more detail, but for that detail to pop on relatively larger screens (screens with higher ratios not necessarily size), you need higher resolution (and for it to REALLY pop, with three-dimensional flare and whatnot, you need tessellation, which should be standard fare by now).
Not that it matters. 4K has massively diminishing returns as viewing distance increases and screen size decreases. For most screen sizes and viewing distances, 4K is pointless.

As a Pro adopter, I'm glad that the difference is visible, but I am also glad that the difference isn't significant except in vegetation at mid-long range draw distance. The XBOX and PS4 are visually close enough that they will have the same experience. Us Pro owners will get a nice little boost to fidelity of the finer items on the screen. This is exactly how the current and next year's worth of titles Pro upgrades should be handled (that or a framerate boost) until 4k monitors and TVs really become prevalent in the market. I actually didn't buy my Pro for the minute graphical differences, I bought mine for extending the framerate lag and load time growth that will be inevitable near the end of life for this generation's consoles. Getting these graphical boosts is really icing on the cake imo.

The Pro looks a little bit better than the others sometimes, but there's really not much of a difference between the 3. Though I will say that none of the visuals look as good as Lightning Returns on the Xbox 360.

Not that it's such a groundbreaking difference that anyone needs to buy a new PS4 or anything. And the Pro isn't remotely a rip-off of the Scorpio as both manufacturers have worked on entirely different types of machines for entirely different motives (Pro as a slight boost, Scorpio as a legitimate leap forward). I'm sure you know that already though. Since you're a game designer and all.

My laptop is a 1080p laptop so I can't really see the full difference between Pro which has 4k resolution and the PS4 which has 1080 and the weak 720p XONE
It seems as if the game is well optimized across all platforms so far. The platform with the sharpest image is obviously the PS4 Pro, which makes sense considering it has twice the graphical power of the PS4. It also goes without saying that having the game on PS4 Pro will give you the most options, such as 4K 30fps or 1080p with an uncapped frame rate. While it is nice to see Square take advantage of the PS4 Pro's hardware, the question remains as to whether or not the final product will run at a consistent 30fps on both the Xbox One and the standard PS4, or perhaps Digital Foundry already conducted an analysis that answers this question. The game is supposedly running in standard mode on the PS4 Pro (?). If that's true, this comparison further supports Sony's statement that even PS4 Pro owners without a 4K display will still be able to enjoy some of the graphical improvements that the PS4 Pro has to offer.
Agreed!! i'm a multi platform owner i have a PS3,Xbox 360,X1 so i care less about minimal upgrade that the PRO provides. i only care to play this game for the adventure, spelunking, and story mode!

keyboard and mouse is big advantage in shooters, and being able to look around much faster is a quality of life thing. But i use a gamepad when playing racing games on my PC. too broke to get a wheel setup. or a console without selling my PC which i need for a lot more than gaming. When it comes to graphics and framerate, i personally feel like it kills the immersion if the game is stuttering around in 30fps with its also higher input lag. and resolution so low that the jagged edges cause stationary objects to shimmer or flicker is distracting enough to prevent me from being fully immersed in the game. A game that is more cartoony is just fine with lower resolution. but when it tries to look real and is stuttering and in low res it's killing the immersion for me. It's wrong to tell others what is good enough for them because of what is good enough for yourself. people are different so this endess console vs PC war is as stupid as an argument between an atheist and a christian. it will never end. it just a waste of time and energy on things that makes no one any happier.

with no direct comparison, one does not even notice most of these differences. So I doubt xbox one owners will be sad. Hey, at least they have the cooler controller ;D (by the way, as we all know, most JRPGs come out exclusively for Playstation, so I think xbox one owners will be glad that FF15 is an exception to the rule)
The Pro is for graphics junkies only really. Though its not just better graphics; its framerate. The Pro has the option of the improved visuals and 30fps, or it can run it just like a regular PS4 but at 60. Its dependant on game however, some don't bother patching and most run as if it was a regular PS4 instead of utilising the extra GPU. So as an upgrade; avoid the pro. As a new purchase; go for it.
It's just what you want. For me, I wanted the extra power so that games would run at a steadier frame rate. You don't have to pay full price for PS4 pro btw. You can sell your PS4 and one of your controllers on amazon or ebay, perhaps even locally.
i think they said it will take them 1 year to port the game to pc because they will then enhance the graphics and probably increase population and stuff too. But that is if they even commit to making a PC version. Sucks having to buy a console to play a single game.

I don't know if I'm just uncultured swine but I see no difference. All three look exactly the same. But again, I don't know if its just me. I played the judgment disc demo on the normal ps4 and it looked beautiful to me. I see no reason to get a ps4 pro right now if there are only slight differences that no one can even see.
chaidexvulcan you won't see it on RUclips. you HAVE to see it on a 4k display with HDR. trust there is a difference. Much sharper image, then 1080p being up scaled to a 4k display, especially if your using a big screen like 55 and up.
I guess it's because my tv is only 49 inches but I already have a Pro and it's pretty. I'm not going to lie. But it didn't blow me away. I had it in my head what I thought 4K would look like so I bought a Pro and an HDR capable UHDTV. There is a difference but not a "$400 console, $800 TV" (I bought it on sale half price on amazon) difference. It's just a little sharper and a little more colorful.
The PS4 Pro isn't really a true 4K experience(yet). Gaming in 4K natively is 2160p. The checkboard technique for the PRO "upscales" some games to 1800p. I think the addition of HDR is a bigger change in my opinion. However, I have played games in 4K on my PC and "for me" the difference was much more noticeable than on a PS4[not to mention I am sitting closer]. Some games will potentially have patches to play them natively in 4K as opposed to just upscaling a 1080p image to fit your 3840x2160 UDTV. I think that'll be rare. Most of these "comparison" videos are absolutely a horrible example simply because no one is playing these games at the native resolution of their television. One video I do like is the PS4 Pro vs PC with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Actually..both look really good but the PC verision at 4K is a bit sharper. But I'm still impressed by the PS4's "potential" price per the performance. I don't know why you wouldn't get the Pro if you don't have a PS4 now.
I look at the Pro like the PS3... It could do 1080p for games with simple textures. But in the end only a few titles were native, with most upscaled. I think one advantage of the Pro might come from having the power to run a more stable frame rate at 1080p. I certainly don't see a difference to justify running out to buy a Pro.

One has to look really closely to tell the difference, especially with the PS4 and Pro comparison. The only noticeable difference is simply in the background stuff like the store items which isn't stuff one would typically pay any attention to anyway.
While ps4 version clearly looks better it doesn't matter because no matter what console you play it on you can bet it will look good enough and you will enoy the game regardless so just enjoy the game.

la verdad solo la diferencia que se nota solo es que en la pro no se notan esos pixeles que en las otras dos consolas y tiene razon dross no hay mucha diferencia entre las consolas y que en pc siempre le va a ganar a las conslas pero te va a cercar a esas resoluciones que tiene una pc master race si tienes una tv a 4k

Pues no es así, en videos de youtube es dificil notar las diferencias, mas que nada por la compresion que hace, pero yo lo estoy jugando tanto en PRO como en la normal, se nota diferencia, en la PRO es todo mas nitivo, las texturas están mucho mejor conseguidos, el pelo de los protagonistas mas real, mas vegetacion...etc

Not sure, but I guess you can't see the difference between the PS4 and PS4 Pro, because the demo was not meant to have differences. And to be honest the framerate on this demo is awesome on PS4 (normal) compared to other demos.
The Pro version has a setting which allows you for either 4k resolution at 30FPS, or 1080p Resolution with 60fps. Which I think is the ultimate winner here.
Sticking with regular ps4 as I don't mind 30fps. As someone who plays pc games like bf1 on a 144hz monitor, I will still enjoy it. Yeh it may take a little time to get used to coming from a high frame rate but you won't notice the difference after playing an hour or so. I thought 30fps on uncharted 4 was terrible especially for a fast paced action game, but i got used to it rlly quickly. Your eyes will adjust.
Graphic differences are minor, what matters to me is whether or not the frame rate is high enough, if there's lag in battle the game experience would definitely be a let down

I agree! I have loads of fun games from the era of PS, GameCube, PS2, Wii... graphics don't matter. I bought the PS3 only because I won a fan package via a contest hosted by Square Enix and I wanted to play the game I won. For years I had troubles finding a handful of fun(!) PS3 games (luckily there were a few). But when the new console generation came out, I hadn't seen a single "fun looking" game unitl recently. Only now, some fun looking JRPGs are coming out (like World of Final Fantasy - that one is super fun, I'm currently playing it). I bought the Ps4 Pro last week because of the up-coming releases of FF15 and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix, that looks fun!

Not just you, it was much blurrier than the PS4 version, let alone the Pro version. The difference was like night and day. No way in hell would I buy the subpar version of the game. Also, according to the FFXV director Hajime Tabata, the game uses dynamic resolution technology on both platforms. The Xbone version can run between 765p - 900p, whilst the PS4 can run between 900p - 1080p. Very big difference. I honestly didn't even know 765p was a thing. Never heard of that one before.
If they fail to make a pc version I may abandon them altogether, its pretty sad that we have to settle for subpar anything anymore. I built my PC for $500 in 2014 and it could probably play this game in 4K
Visually, it's not the hardware that holds games back. It's lack of optimization. Witcher 3 was surprisingly well optimized and ran almost flawlessly on my rig (Hairworks results were as expected given I have a 3.4 i5 quad and a single 970)
Yea I bought this game for Xbox one S and my game is so blurry and so much screen tearing it just ruined the experience for me. I looked online and found out other people had the same problem because of poor porting and optimization, but PS4 players also complained about the same issue so idk. But Square Enix is supposed to come out with a patch update to fix graphical issue early next year, so I'm just gonna wait for this patch before I play it again. I'm very disappointed though cuz I bought a 4k hdr Sony tv just so I can admire the graphics fully but I can wait.
Cancled my PS4 limited edition preorder. Going to bite my lip and wait for the PC version. I just upgraded to a gtx 1080 and in a week a new I7 6700k. Pretty much every FF game in the last few years has now been released on PC and 12 will be soon. Devs apparently say FF15 on PC will have features not on console from their lack of power so will be worth the wait.
Did they announce it ? Usually their engine can export to PC as seen as previous FF made their way to PC eventually. It might take a few years and will still be a straight up console port.

You do know that not only the graphics itself but the performance too is way better on PS4 right? You should get it on PS4. It is much better with that version graphics and performance wise plus it does use all the cool features the Dualshock 4 has like the axis and the touchpad. Horo | ホロ It isn't tho. I have PS4 PRO my cousin have PS4 and my friend have the X one. The PS4 is the second best console to play on it. However that might have been different before the beefy day one patch and they might mean that. On the box is did get slow many times not only according to my friend but I did witness it as well. PS4 does have it's problems too of course with a game like this it's going to be obvious but not as bad as with the box. Trust me it's much better to get it on PS4 due to performance and graphics as well as the better support to the system. But if you do have a 4K TV I very highly recommend to get the PRO. While it's not native the difference is very slight they did an amazing job. I do play on LG B6 4K OLED and PS4 PRO right now and it's really amazing. But I do hope it's going to come on PC so I can play it on ULTRA settings with native 4K res and 60FPS. I did get 2 Nvidia 1080 a month ago so this game would be perfect to play with them.

It's better. Framerate is steady, not dropping even in intense battles, the draw distance is better and the shaders/effects are insane. If you already have a PS4 though, stick with that. Pro *is* better, but it's not $400 better unless you have the spare cash or are a die-hard FF fan.
Was a bit hard to follow... Switching the order of the comparisons and placing the label in different spots wasn't the best idea. That said, I can see a lot more aliasing in the Xbox One version vs PS4, and the Pro seems to have much better draw distance and less aliasing than the other two. I'm more curious to see the game in action on the PS4 to determine if there are better frame rates to know if I should sell my PS4 and get the Pro version.
Soooo, I just picked up the Xbox One version from a retailer that regularly breaks street dates. I don't know if there is going to be a graphics patch that is yet to come on the 29th, but as of right now, the game looks like utter garbage. I have a Xbox One S hooked up to a 50" 4K TV with HDR. The textures are mostly flat and look blurry, kind of like a game in pre-alpha stage. I know that Xbox One is the less powerful console, but the way this game looks, is just plain unacceptable even for Xbox. Gears of War 4, Forza 3, Tomb Raider (Rise), infinite Warfare (campaign), Metal Gear Solid V, Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1, all look great even for being on Xbox One S, but so far for what FF 15 looks like, it looks like a 360 game. I should of kept the money I had put down on PS4 Pro preorder, rather than last minute cancelling it and going with Xbox One S...I was actually looking forward to FF 15 for a really long time.

I bought this on Xbox One and I must say the performance runs very well no signs of major lag yet? However there is a bit of blur when characters move and the textures aren't great. I'm still having a blast though.

Spotting the difference between 16 and 32 shades of different colors is simple. However spotting the difference between a million and 2 million shades of colors is not. We have reached a level where you would need 10 times stronger Hardware to even spot a significant difference. The 50% more power of the PS4 vs the Xone or 100% more power of the Pro vs the base PS4 are not going to help you much there.

They're definitely not identical. The best section that showed off the differences between all three was the triple split screen. There are most certainly differences between the vanilla PS4 and XB1 version, though nothing huge. Also keep in mind that we didn't see any action shots. The Pro should be able to keep a very solid frame rate while the other two might waffle a bit when there's a lot of on-screen movement/action going on.

The point isn't for you to upgrade from PS4 to Pro. The pro is just a luxury alternative for anyone with the extra income. They're not asking you to upgrade.

But they're not asking everyone who bought a PS4 to buy a Pro in the same way that they're asking everyone who bought a PS3 to buy a PS4. It's mainly there for people who don't have a PS4 yet, are going to buy one and have the extra money. Obviously you can upgrade from PS4 to Pro if you're that loaded. Just like Iphone 6S isn't primarily targeting Iphone 6 owners, it targets people who haven't yet bought an Iphone 6. Again, some people who have loads of money do upgrade from 6 to 6s, but they're enthusiasts, not the mainstream. Anyway I agree that they should have released a better system still. They should have put out a $500 PS4 Pro that truly was a worthwhile luxury alternative.

PS4 pro is definitely worth the upgrade, playing skyrim remastered there is definitely a differce. Sadly there are issues, my resolution crashed after the 4.05 update. Hope Sony addresses this soon.
This demo isn't running in PS4 Pro mode fyi... it should have almost no difference to the regular PS4 until those optimisations are in place, which they won't be until launch.

It looks like the Pro has better up close visuals but weaker details at longer draw distances. Those who are lucky enough to own modern Sony Bravia TVs have access to sets of filters which basically correct a lot of distortion up close, provide smoother textures and create dynamic lighting and contrast, so the PS4 version on a Bravia TV is only mildly different to the Pro version, minus the fact that that the Pro version has slightly better models and downsampling. Look at 1:45, the PS4 version has by far the better draw distance; dynamic contrast on a Bravia TV will keep that detail but make the shadowing look like that of the Pro. At first I was disappointed at the fact that I bought the PS4 two weeks before they announced the Pro, but after tweaking the TV I've got the PS4 version looking almost on par with the Pro version.

the graphical update is minor. What's more important to me is better frame-rate- and maintained frame rate. If the PRO delivers more fluid FPS, it "might" be worth it, because the graphics are definitely NOT.
It will even have options for locked 30 FPS if you instead did want better looking graphics and effects!

Galaxis Yes, I am aware the difference between FPS. I'm a PC player mainly, but also play on my PS4 Pro. 30 FPS is definitely less fluid but can "feel" fluid as if it was 60FPS if the developer spent time correcting the frame pacing issues and camera smoothing.

.... Yes more than likely there will be very slight differences in frame rate. I sold my white ps4 in July in anticipation of what I thought at the time was NEO. Whilst getting something decent for it before the new console. But with what I'm seeing in this and other videos of the PRO it's looking like I will be stuck without a console now until 'Scorpio' around this time a year from now. I'm not feeling at all compelled to buy this new Sony console - to be absolutely honest.

Also you wouldnt notice any difference on youtube cuz first of all you dont have a 4k screen for sure and even if you do, the video doesnt. So you are automatically watching everything at 1080p not 4k or upscaled 4k.
Even tho i can see few difference, like in the terrain, when the character walks on the grass and on the reflections. They arent big, but they are notable if you see straight into them, as i said they havent done much optimization for Pro on FFXV game.
Also fps will be almost 2 times more than the normal PS4, the demo is already running at 40-50 fps, while PS4 standard holds 25-30fps.
The console is not worth if you already have a PS4, but if you dont, then is definetely worth 100€ more for better fps and graphics. Even better if you have 4k tv with hdr cuz then you will really notice the differences.

I'm more disappointed by how overhyped the Pro has been. I see a little bit more sharpness with the Pro over the PS4 here, and their hair has more detail, but that's basically it.
PS4 PRO looks MUCH better. Also has a superior performance. And of course it plays in 4K which is a HUGE upgrade.
And for the icing it also supports HDR on 4K. Trust me the difference is HUGE.

Thanks for the upload. From what I have seen so far with PS4-PS4 Pro comparisons, the Pro has anti-aliasing and slightly better lighting (aside from 4k support). For those of us with 1080p monitors, anti-aliasing is cool, as I find the jagged look of games on my PS4 a touch annoying sometimes. I'm not sure if it justifies the cost quite yet though. If they start releasing games with higher definition texture packs for the Pro, that would probably make me reconsider.
I could not tell any of them different, maybe pro when you zoom in to see the specific pixels but I don't play with my eyes glued to the screen.
On 2:00 you can see such a difference. Really insane looking on Pro.
With Pro you have more clouds in the sky, amazing!
For those of you can't tell the diff. between the Pro and what I call "lite-gen" versions of the game, the Pro seems to have:
- better aliasing (that's obvious, especially against the XBO; save for select areas and certain animations for character meshes, the XBox version has a lot more jaggies)
- better (anisotropic) texture filtering (meaning that the textures look cleaner and load better while in motion and from any view angle)
- better LOD resolution (the Xbox version has noticeable blurriness in distant and even semi-distant textures; that is, they look softer like in a haze of air or something. The PS4 / lite version does not have as much but it is still present compared to Pro).
- actual ambient occlusion (shadows where light should logically be blocked, like corners between walls, ceilings and floors, but the AO is not that great in any console anyway)
And more importantly: resolution. Even if none of these things were true, background textures POP at you (and that's important, because frontground textures always look good in well-made games). Higher resolution doesn't just mean better crystal-clear clarity, or more details in the same volume/area of screen space... it means textures friggin pop out at you too. You will not see the sharpness of the textures as much as you will live; video streaming other forms of encoded playback like RUclips's ruins this with something akin to data loss that comes from the information formatting process.
Hardware with more VRAM mean the textures themselves have larger sizes or mip-maps or whatever, so you'll see more detail, but for that detail to pop on relatively larger screens (screens with higher ratios not necessarily size), you need higher resolution (and for it to REALLY pop, with three-dimensional flare and whatnot, you need tessellation, which should be standard fare by now).

As a Pro adopter, I'm glad that the difference is visible, but I am also glad that the difference isn't significant except in vegetation at mid-long range draw distance.
The XBOX and PS4 are visually close enough that they will have the same experience. Us Pro owners will get a nice little boost to fidelity of the finer items on the screen. This is exactly how the current and next year's worth of titles Pro upgrades should be handled (that or a framerate boost) until 4k monitors and TVs really become prevalent in the market.
I actually didn't buy my Pro for the minute graphical differences, I bought mine for extending the framerate lag and load time growth that will be inevitable near the end of life for this generation's consoles. Getting these graphical boosts is really icing on the cake imo.

The Pro looks a little bit better than the others sometimes, but there's really not much of a difference between the 3. Though I will say that none of the visuals look as good as Lightning Returns on the Xbox 360.

It seems as if the game is well optimized across all platforms so far. The platform with the sharpest image is obviously the PS4 Pro, which makes sense considering it has twice the graphical power of the PS4. It also goes without saying that having the game on PS4 Pro will give you the most options, such as 4K 30fps or 1080p with an uncapped frame rate.
While it is nice to see Square take advantage of the PS4 Pro's hardware, the question remains as to whether or not the final product will run at a consistent 30fps on both the Xbox One and the standard PS4, or perhaps Digital Foundry already conducted an analysis that answers this question. The game is supposedly running in standard mode on the PS4 Pro (?). If that's true, this comparison further supports Sony's statement that even PS4 Pro owners without a 4K display will still be able to enjoy some of the graphical improvements that the PS4 Pro has to offer.

Yes my friend i hate the whole argument about which console is better! we are all entitled to choose the platform we wish to play. and yes there are some exclusives for each platform! the PRO no matter how slightly upgraded in the graphic department is it won't make me jump to pro. is coming to the X1 so i can't wait to play it and go explore, fight huge beast and bosses and fly that car into the air that blew my mind! 12 more days for us to be busy for a long ass upcoming months.
keyboard and mouse is big advantage in shooters, and being able to look around much faster is a quality of life thing. But i use a gamepad when playing racing games on my PC. too broke to get a wheel setup. or a console without selling my PC which i need for a lot more than gaming. When it comes to graphics and framerate, i personally feel like it kills the immersion if the game is stuttering around in 30fps with its also higher input lag. and resolution so low that the jagged edges cause stationary objects to shimmer or flicker is distracting enough to prevent me from being fully immersed in the game. A game that is more cartoony is just fine with lower resolution. but when it tries to look real and is stuttering and in low res it's killing the immersion for me. It's wrong to tell others what is good enough for them because of what is good enough for yourself. people are different so this endess console vs PC war is as stupid as an argument between an atheist and a christian. it will never end. it just a waste of time and energy on things that makes no one any happier.

Though its not just better graphics; its framerate. The Pro has the option of the improved visuals and 30fps, or it can run it just like a regular PS4 but at 60.
Its dependant on game however, some don't bother patching and most run as if it was a regular PS4 instead of utilising the extra GPU. So as an upgrade; avoid the pro. As a new purchase; go for it.

Lo que se puede notar en la ps4 pro es que los colores son mas oscuros, pero deralles como las sombras mas oscuras, las plantas con movimientos mas naturales y colores en objetos por estar contra el sol o que algo los cubra del sol si son un poco notables, un poco.

I don't know if I'm just uncultured swine but I see no difference. All three look exactly the same. But again, I don't know if its just me. I played the judgment disc demo on the normal ps4 and it looked beautiful to me. I see no reason to get a ps4 pro right now if there are only slight differences that no one can even see.

chaidexvulcan you won't see it on RUclips. you HAVE to see it on a 4k display with HDR. trust there is a difference. Much sharper image, then 1080p being up scaled to a 4k display, especially if your using a big screen like 55 and up.
I guess it's because my tv is only 49 inches but I already have a Pro and it's pretty. I'm not going to lie. But it didn't blow me away. I had it in my head what I thought 4K would look like so I bought a Pro and an HDR capable UHDTV. There is a difference but not a "$400 console, $800 TV" (I bought it on sale half price on amazon) difference. It's just a little sharper and a little more colorful.

The PS4 Pro isn't really a true 4K experience(yet). Gaming in 4K natively is 2160p. The checkboard technique for the PRO "upscales" some games to 1800p. I think the addition of HDR is a bigger change in my opinion. However, I have played games in 4K on my PC and "for me" the difference was much more noticeable than on a PS4[not to mention I am sitting closer]. Some games will potentially have patches to play them natively in 4K as opposed to just upscaling a 1080p image to fit your 3840x2160 UDTV. I think that'll be rare.
Most of these "comparison" videos are absolutely a horrible example simply because no one is playing these games at the native resolution of their television. One video I do like is the PS4 Pro vs PC with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Actually..both look really good but the PC verision at 4K is a bit sharper. But I'm still impressed by the PS4's "potential" price per the performance. I don't know why you wouldn't get the Pro if you don't have a PS4 now.
I look at the Pro like the PS3... It could do 1080p for games with simple textures. But in the end only a few titles were native, with most upscaled. I think one advantage of the Pro might come from having the power to run a more stable frame rate at 1080p. I certainly don't see a difference to justify running out to buy a Pro.

One has to look really closely to tell the difference, especially with the PS4 and Pro comparison. The only noticeable difference is simply in the background stuff like the store items which isn't stuff one would typically pay any attention to anyway.

While ps4 version clearly looks better it doesn't matter because no matter what console you play it on you can bet it will look good enough and you will enoy the game regardless so just enjoy the game.

El parche para el Pro llegara en diciembre segun Square Enix, por lo que no es tan representativo a como quedara en su version final.
He visto casi todos tus úlitmos videos de comparaciones de PS4 y PS4 Pro, la verdad es que en este me da sensación de que se ve mejor la PS4 que la Pro, como las texturas de los árboles y arbustos más definidas.

Pues no es así, en videos de youtube es dificil notar las diferencias, mas que nada por la compresion que hace, pero yo lo estoy jugando tanto en PRO como en la normal, se nota diferencia, en la PRO es todo mas nitivo, las texturas están mucho mejor conseguidos, el pelo de los protagonistas mas real, mas vegetacion...etc

The Pro version has a setting which allows you for either 4k resolution at 30FPS, or 1080p Resolution with 60fps. Which I think is the ultimate winner here.

How are you really supposed to see the difference of 4k and HDR when you're watching this on RUclips in 1080p and no HDR?... pointless video.
FFXV does not support 4k. It will be upscalled from 1080p to 1440p so YES U CAN SEE IT on regular 1080p monitor.
Can't see HDR unless you have a HDR screen with HDR content so can't get a proper comparison.

Sticking with regular ps4 as I don't mind 30fps. As someone who plays pc games like bf1 on a 144hz monitor, I will still enjoy it. Yeh it may take a little time to get used to coming from a high frame rate but you won't notice the difference after playing an hour or so. I thought 30fps on uncharted 4 was terrible especially for a fast paced action game, but i got used to it rlly quickly. Your eyes will adjust.
Graphic differences are minor, what matters to me is whether or not the frame rate is high enough, if there's lag in battle the game experience would definitely be a let down
This generation of consoles was disgusting, it's my opinion and if you do not like it I'm sorry, neither 4k nor 60fps I prefer fun games than full graphics.

I agree! I have loads of fun games from the era of PS, GameCube, PS2, Wii... graphics don't matter. I bought the PS3 only because I won a fan package via a contest hosted by Square Enix and I wanted to play the game I won. For years I had troubles finding a handful of fun(!) PS3 games (luckily there were a few).
But when the new console generation came out, I hadn't seen a single "fun looking" game unitl recently. Only now, some fun looking JRPGs are coming out (like World of Final Fantasy - that one is super fun, I'm currently playing it). I bought the Ps4 Pro last week because of the up-coming releases of FF15 and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix, that looks fun!

Not just you, it was much blurrier than the PS4 version, let alone the Pro version. The difference was like night and day. No way in hell would I buy the subpar version of the game.
Also, according to the FFXV director Hajime Tabata, the game uses dynamic resolution technology on both platforms. The Xbone version can run between 765p - 900p, whilst the PS4 can run between 900p - 1080p. Very big difference. I honestly didn't even know 765p was a thing. Never heard of that one before.
If they fail to make a pc version I may abandon them altogether, its pretty sad that we have to settle for subpar anything anymore. I built my PC for $500 in 2014 and it could probably play this game in 4K

Visually, it's not the hardware that holds games back. It's lack of optimization. Witcher 3 was surprisingly well optimized and ran almost flawlessly on my rig (Hairworks results were as expected given I have a 3.4 i5 quad and a single 970)
Yea I bought this game for Xbox one S and my game is so blurry and so much screen tearing it just ruined the experience for me. I looked online and found out other people had the same problem because of poor porting and optimization, but PS4 players also complained about the same issue so idk. But Square Enix is supposed to come out with a patch update to fix graphical issue early next year, so I'm just gonna wait for this patch before I play it again. I'm very disappointed though cuz I bought a 4k hdr Sony tv just so I can admire the graphics fully but I can wait.
Cancled my PS4 limited edition preorder. Going to bite my lip and wait for the PC version. I just upgraded to a gtx 1080 and in a week a new I7 6700k. Pretty much every FF game in the last few years has now been released on PC and 12 will be soon. Devs apparently say FF15 on PC will have features not on console from their lack of power so will be worth the wait.
Did they announce it ? Usually their engine can export to PC as seen as previous FF made their way to PC eventually. It might take a few years and will still be a straight up console port.

It isn't tho. I have PS4 PRO my cousin have PS4 and my friend have the X one.
The PS4 is the second best console to play on it. However that might have been different before the beefy day one patch and they might mean that.
On the box is did get slow many times not only according to my friend but I did witness it as well. PS4 does have it's problems too of course with a game like this it's going to be obvious but not as bad as with the box.
Trust me it's much better to get it on PS4 due to performance and graphics as well as the better support to the system.
But if you do have a 4K TV I very highly recommend to get the PRO.
While it's not native the difference is very slight they did an amazing job.
I do play on LG B6 4K OLED and PS4 PRO right now and it's really amazing.
But I do hope it's going to come on PC so I can play it on ULTRA settings with native 4K res and 60FPS.
I did get 2 Nvidia 1080 a month ago so this game would be perfect to play with them.

Framerate is steady, not dropping even in intense battles, the draw distance is better and the shaders/effects are insane.
If you already have a PS4 though, stick with that. Pro *is* better, but it's not $400 better unless you have the spare cash or are a die-hard FF fan.

The most obvious difference is that the grasses and trees have more detail in PS4 Pro version.
Was a bit hard to follow... Switching the order of the comparisons and placing the label in different spots wasn't the best idea.
That said, I can see a lot more aliasing in the Xbox One version vs PS4, and the Pro seems to have much better draw distance and less aliasing than the other two. I'm more curious to see the game in action on the PS4 to determine if there are better frame rates to know if I should sell my PS4 and get the Pro version.
Soooo, I just picked up the Xbox One version from a retailer that regularly breaks street dates. I don't know if there is going to be a graphics patch that is yet to come on the 29th, but as of right now, the game looks like utter garbage. I have a Xbox One S hooked up to a 50" 4K TV with HDR. The textures are mostly flat and look blurry, kind of like a game in pre-alpha stage. I know that Xbox One is the less powerful console, but the way this game looks, is just plain unacceptable even for Xbox. Gears of War 4, Forza 3, Tomb Raider (Rise), infinite Warfare (campaign), Metal Gear Solid V, Witcher 3 and Battlefield 1, all look great even for being on Xbox One S, but so far for what FF 15 looks like, it looks like a 360 game. I should of kept the money I had put down on PS4 Pro preorder, rather than last minute cancelling it and going with Xbox One S...I was actually looking forward to FF 15 for a really long time.

Gaddus well.. I own an Xbox one S and I only lost frames once.. and it was only like 10 frames during chapter 5... as a PC owner.. this shocked me to see console having some general fixes over the years.. so framerates are no issue on ps4 or Xbox man

Aside from running at a higher resolution on the PS4 Pro, It looks and runs pretty much identically on all consoles.
Why does the xbox one look SO bad? WHY WHY WHY did I buy an xbox one over ps4?? My brother swore the ps4 version of Battlefield 1 looked better than my xbox one. I refused to believe him. so he brought his TV and ps4 over. Put them side by side (Same TV btw). I couldn't believe my eyes. Complete difference. So we put in Destiny. Same damn thing. Graphics were better. Framerate better... all better on the PS4. It's official. I'm putting the XBONE up for sale tomorrow. No wonder Microsoft is coming out with a completely new console so soon.

I bought this on Xbox One and I must say the performance runs very well no signs of major lag yet? However there is a bit of blur when characters move and the textures aren't great. I'm still having a blast though.

funny is how the people nowadays cry about a little more blurry image lol. While in reality there is absolutely not much of a difference. The reason for that is simple. Spotting the difference between 16 and 32 shades of different colors is simple. However spotting the difference between a million and 2 million shades of colors is not. We have reached a level where you would need 10 times stronger Hardware to even spot a significant difference. The 50% more power of the PS4 vs the Xone or 100% more power of the Pro vs the base PS4 are not going to help you much there.

r3load you mean comparing it with the Pro? because if so compared to the PS4 version it is very noticeable and the same improvement as the X1 version, considering they are identical.
They're definitely not identical. The best section that showed off the differences between all three was the triple split screen. There are most certainly differences between the vanilla PS4 and XB1 version, though nothing huge. Also keep in mind that we didn't see any action shots. The Pro should be able to keep a very solid frame rate while the other two might waffle a bit when there's a lot of on-screen movement/action going on.
Quantum Witcher what i meant is that xbox1 version looks worst then is the normal ps4 and best of all is obviously the pro, but also the difference between pro and the other versions is not very noticeable... it is a little more noticeable if you compare the xbox 1 version to the pro... however still not much of an improvement to make a difference during gameplay

Secondly the pro does this game at 60 frames per sec over 30 like the other two.... so technically it will move smoother, it will be slightly quicker and also alot more of the stuff will be fleshed out.... granted that will be the only difference but... 60fps and 4k graphics will basically make it a rival for a pcs graphics... awakenthesleeper just didn't try to discuss it properly... please forgive 'him' because I guess it is a male, because he's acting like a penis ^^

The point isn't for you to upgrade from PS4 to Pro. The pro is just a luxury alternative for anyone with the extra income.

It's mainly there for people who don't have a PS4 yet, are going to buy one and have the extra money. Obviously you can upgrade from PS4 to Pro if you're that loaded.
Just like Iphone 6S isn't primarily targeting Iphone 6 owners, it targets people who haven't yet bought an Iphone 6. Again, some people who have loads of money do upgrade from 6 to 6s, but they're enthusiasts, not the mainstream.
Anyway I agree that they should have released a better system still.

Personally I'm on PC so i'll have to miss out until a while later when PS4 becomes as cheap as PS3 currently is.

la diferencia se puede hacer notar en frames, ya que la ps4 pro saldra con modo pelicula o modo accion, osea: los graficos de ps4 pro en un radio de 30 fps, o los graficos de ps4 normal a 60 fps, los 60 fps son muy necesarios para mi, por eso no me gusta mucho usar pc, porque para llegar a 60 fps en ultra... hay que cagar plata
Repito, es practicamente casí la misma cosa. No lo justifiquen, cada quien puede hacer lo que desee con su dinero, pero tampoco hay que ser tan ingenuo y poner el asunto de los "frames" como lo primordial, eso más bien es lo que menos importa eso no incide en la experiencia jugable. Acéptenlo los estan timando, las diferencias son apenas apreciables.

A proposito, necesitas una pantalla 4K para notar alguna diferencia.

So uh, why did they put the pro comparison BETWEEN the Xbox and PS4 comparisons? Just to make either the PS4 or Xbox one look crappier with the harsher change? Wouldn't the natural progression be xbox > ps4 > pro or ps4 > xbox > pro?
I seriously see only like minute difference between all 3. PS4 and Xbox One are near impossible to spot differences in.
Yeah, not sure how people develop eyes like a hawk to the point where they can easily see every single pixel worth of difference but I'm more impressed by how close each version will look to each other.

Diego Velez no te lo crees ni tu, yo tengo la pro y con el battlefield va mucho mejor y me carga la partida bastante más rápido.
tiene filtro anisotropico mejor porque de serca son iguales, eso y el antialising donde se nota menos pixeles PERO an de estar usando un mal FXAA o temporal porque logran menos alialing pero tambien que se vea bien borroso
si la hay: PS4 se ve mejor que la pro

PS4 pro is definitely worth the upgrade, playing skyrim remastered there is definitely a differce. Sadly there are issues, my resolution crashed after the 4.05 update. Hope Sony addresses this soon.

This demo isn't running in PS4 Pro mode fyi... it should have almost no difference to the regular PS4 until those optimisations are in place, which they won't be until launch.

It is for people that want a better experience in PS4 games. Those people can already have a PS4 or be completely new to the platform. I swear do you people act this dense when they made the PS2 slim? The PS2 slim isn't for peopel with a PS2...yet people with PS2s still bought slims.

When you zoom in on textures you can see that the ps4 has a small edge but it looks to be negligible during active gameplay
It looks like the Pro has better up close visuals but weaker details at longer draw distances. Those who are lucky enough to own modern Sony Bravia TVs have access to sets of filters which basically correct a lot of distortion up close, provide smoother textures and create dynamic lighting and contrast, so the PS4 version on a Bravia TV is only mildly different to the Pro version, minus the fact that that the Pro version has slightly better models and downsampling. Look at 1:45, the PS4 version has by far the better draw distance; dynamic contrast on a Bravia TV will keep that detail but make the shadowing look like that of the Pro. At first I was disappointed at the fact that I bought the PS4 two weeks before they announced the Pro, but after tweaking the TV I've got the PS4 version looking almost on par with the Pro version.
