Tom Cruise's performance in this movie was pretty good.
*very good
I totally here for your profile pic, i not a cat😆
I personally loved his performance. Barry Seal was a larger than life character so the role was perfect for Tom.
No question that Tom Cruise has been one of the greatest actors of the last 40 or so years.
Brad Pitt, also has been in an endless string of great movies.
Jason Statham, on the other hand, is complete trash and no one should ever have heard his name.
Yes it was you should really see Collateral (2004) his performance is 10xx times better than this. It's off the scales
The film "Cocaine Cowboys" goes over some circumstances of Barry Seal's murder. The hit men were caught almost immediately. They were from Colombia. It took time to arrange the hit because Barry always had law enforcement with him. There were competing charges against Barry, since he had broken so many laws. A judge in Louisiana decided to require him to be at a specific place at a specific time. He knew (or should have known) that this was tantamount to a death sentence.
That was the point. The government wanted him dead.
He also had president bush number in his pocket at the time he was the head of CIA
Trust me bro?
@@Oskar_. He gave his source genius.
@@Oskar_. It is litterally what the judge did! It's in court records.
To call this Pablo's revenge scene would be inaccurate because we never really knew who was responsible for Barrie's death.
Don Fablo Ochoa ordered the hit Pablo was informed gave his approval sending his hitman to do the job in Louisiana
it could have been clinton
yea there was a house explosion a few days ago killing two people that was going to testify against the Clinton foundation....
Why’d they even kill him
With BRICK Knew to much. "They" weren't going to take a chance with that. Should've known something was up when they took his money. They weren't going to allow him to live a life of luxury off of their exploits.
CIA used him and then threw him in a dustbin, and that's what they always do, US or non-US, it doesn't matter, what matters is to maintain dominance
Yeah Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein used to both be on their payrolls. Gaddafi helped them with extrajudicial rendition. Pretty obvious they created and bankrolled ISIS to overthrow Assad.
@@dompdompdomp lmfao sure
@@dompdompdomp Yeah... No
@@dompdompdomp like they need a hemroid
@@dompdompdomp I suppose working for one of the most successful drug empires in the world is a decent dream job.
"You try telling me that this ain't the greatest country in the world." -- Barry
“He didn’t finish the sentence , what do you think is the message.”
People who watch this movie and still think that that sentence of "greatest country in the world" isn't ironical are fools.
What did he mean exactly then
@@litamtondy It’s the greatest country in the world to live in, aside from those smaller Scandinavian countries. But overall in just greatness, not so much.
It ain't. Real facts, no country is the best in the world.
Another movie where Tom Cruise got to prouve himself that He is not just a pretty face, but mainly a great actor and a great producer.
Was this his first movie doing real-life portrayal of someone?
Valkyrie
he really is a fantastic actor ..to say other wise is insanity ..
It's Tom cruise. Everyone acting like he's a new actor. They don't pay him 20mil a movie for nothing.
Tired of people saying he’s an okay and alright actor,Collateral literally exist
It wasn’t Pablo. Allegedly it was Schaeffer. His revenge. Not Pablo’s. The CIA sometimes does that.
There was no Shaffer in real life. He was just added for the movie. Same as Barry's brother in law.
Quentin 33 His brother in law existed and was called William Bottoms...
Umar Khan oh ok i must have misread it.
Umar Khan Yes, but he wasn't killed in some cartel car-bombing as depicted.
It was Pablo
I really like the style of how they showed the death. Rather than seeing him getting shot and all that mess they show the gunman and the car then back to his video journal and pause the tape and fades to white. I like that, it's a good touch. He wasn't a bad guy, he did earn a shitload of money from delivering drugs, but he didn't deserve to get shot.
lol he fucked with druglords , you know how much years that is
The CIA killed him
I was so sad when he died.
This ain't disney, there's not happy ending here xD
Piero Minaya Rojas he's Alive...... Mission impossible right? 😄😄😄😄😄
I mean I didn't know the original story so for me it was an unexpected death.
Piero Minaya Rojas he messed with the wrong guy
You just mess with a columbian drug lord or any kind of kingpin theres just no survival any one on the streets will be collecting your scalp for yhat kind of money
CIA: *points finger at Pablo*
CIA looking Sus
this movie grows on you - it's great
I know the last scene is made up, but you can totally imagine a CIA guy or group of guys coming up with such a hare--brained scheme as Iran-Contra off the top of their heads.
Look up ollie north bro. It happened.
Yes, it was insane. It just didn't happen like this, obviously.
The film was made before old man Bush died. Perhaps this kept their family out of the Mena/Clinton connection.
No it actually did happen like this and the hitman from Columbia were captured almost immediately all of this is true Barry seal was just one of many pilots watch the movie blow very similar circumstances
Regardless of whose idea it was, every bit of it was done at the behest of Ronald Reagan.
it sucks when you have a love for a character sad but story must be told
The judge who handed down that sentence was just as responsible as anyone else
He was just following clintons orders
I was not ready for this i thought he was gonna just live like that
Me too! I thought he would keep shifting from motel to motel for the rest of his life.
It's a sad ending
If this is based on a true story dealing with largest drug smuggling, there will be death involved for anyone also higher ups not wanting you anymore
He should have just started the car and backed at full speed lol even if he had to run over the poor bastard behind him...
toseeornot2see Or at least had a snubby and got one of the bstrds.
It was his day
He would've still been killed. Hollywood has polluted you into thinking you could get away from three dudes with suppressed shotguns with a dedicated goal of killing you.
The distance you will get in a few seconds means nothing. They would have shot him anyway.
He knew it was that day or the next it would be irrationally rationale to sit and just take it😔
Such a good film I have high hopes for tom and the director
Doug Liman is already a big name in the film industry
Heard their making this film called Top Gun and he could be cast in it, thought they wont release another sequel for 33 years...
He has a net worth of half a billion
@@BerkKayhan Stockmarket? imagine making half a billion dollars and then you become an actor! what a trooper... yep.. that boy is going places alright!
😹😹😹
Amazing movie. Can’t help but think Barry came almost to terms to what may happen next. Death, life after all this.
I watched this movie the first time i was on lsd. When they shot barry it felt like my life ended. Me and my friend just sat there for 10 mins and they got up and left. It was a surreal experience, like I experienced death, yet it was peaceful and not scary at all. Greatest movie of all time lmao
Druggo
I’ve had a few of those moments while watching a great film while on acid
@@andrewmasters5573 lsd will ruin your life please seek help
it doesn't make you cool, in fact it makes you a loser
😂😭😭😭
Crazy that they make this movie go under the radar
Look up Boys on the Tracks and you'll understand.
I just watched this movie last night for the first time it was a really good movie
I watched this on live TV back in the 90s when it was going on. I remember seeing Pablo Escobar being in power, hunted down, and killed. Damn, I'm getting old lol Anyways, I think if Tom Cruise would have made at least a cameo as Barry Seal on Narcos, that would have been f'n awesome. Great show, btw.
@PUBG Pranthan murphy says whoops when he narrates barry seals death in narcos
Is it just me or how this was shot was kind of scary... Strange black figures appearing out of the darkness, no sound, casually walking up to you, without saying a word and shooting you in the face? This scene made me shudder when I first saw it. From everything that happened in the movie, this scene stood out to me the most.
Because thats how its done. You truly felt how a hit is played out in real life. Scene gave me goosebumps.
Fr I came back to see if anyone else felt this way too.
to anyone who play ball with CIA at the end of the game there always be a hitman waiting for u
Hitman are all E.T ... they’re wasting our tax money for hiring E.T to do the dirty jobs!
For this scene of Barry it really was an adventure and such a blast.
One of the underrated movies.
This film has been out for half a decade now and I just realized there was three assassins instead of two. I never noticed the one walking behind the car until today.
One of Tom's best movies
"Iran...we get the Iranians to arm the contras"
**Scared Oliver North noises**
Now this is where Stan begins his song about Ollie North
They showed in the Narcos to
When
I am watching Season 3 of Narcos, and yes, they do have Barry Seal in the show.
@@officialtjtrev8910 Season 1, I believe, maybe...uhh...Epsisode 3-5...ish? Lol Season 1 for sure, though.
Yup they showed the photo of escobar and high officials doing buisness in Nicaragua
you forgot the face he made to the following scene "we get the iranians to arm the contras" O.Ó
Tom Cruise is a great actor. Excellent movie.
Agreed! Best Tom Cruise Performance since Edge of Tomorrow
"it's been hell of an adventure" if though he was doing illigal stuff that line did hit me
Jack reacher or Ethan Hunt could have killed them
Or Vincent from Collateral.
Pfffft whatever! Les Grossman would have been supreme champ!
Maverick
@DRIVER you know very well why the cab driver defeated vincent
@DRIVER idk since they already have ways to know the government plans
Was the Judge who ordered this because it made him feel powerful, ever held accountable for his stupidity?
No I don't think pablo Escobar was responsible for Barry's death.
They say it was the Cali Cartel, but eh...who knows
yeagh because if it was pablo then the whole building would blow to shreds with Berry in it...
It wasnt it was Jorge ochoa
Yes! It’s always had been the wife! For Barry married Pablo too! What a bi show!
Popeye himself said it was one of pablos hitman that did it
wasn't this also mention and showed in Narcos?
Yeah, I remember now.
Yeah, Season 1, Episode 3-5...ish? lol Season 1 for sure, they showed him, but it would have been so much better if it would have been Tom Cruise playing Seal.
Yeah, the character had like, 2 scenes totaling about 7 minutes of screentime or something, lol. I loved the fact that Tom Cruise made a whole movie about the guy after he was barely covered in the show, lol.
2:45 whens the sequel coming out?
The melt away part when he died 👍🏻
1:33 Barry Seal's last video message 😔💔🇺🇸🇨🇴📼📹🛩
The crazy part is he really though he would gt away with it all.
been watching ds movie 100x over , very nice movie
Well, he was right about one thing: the trunk on that Cadillac is huge.
after The Last Samurai this is the 2 best Tom Cruise movie
You can tell He was like yeah yeah I get it
The one time Cruise should have run
Otherwise his family could have been killed. One thing is for sure. Barry's family survived
This and cocaine bear are such good films
I liked the movie watching using boxxy software. Interesting, real story. Shooted well. It looks easy, there is humor, it was not boring
Shooted? C'mon man it's shot
KillingEdit
On the evening of February 19, 1986, Seal was shot to death in front of the Salvation Army Center, three weeks into his probation. When Seal pulled into the center's lot and parked, a man got out of a car behind the center's donation drop boxes and opened fire with a suppressed MAC-10 submachine gun. Seal was hit six times and died almost instantly.
It was the judge Frank Joseph Polozola who setenced Barry to be at 6PM-6AM at salvation army.
Barry refused to go into witness protection. When asked about the sentence is replied "The judge turned me into a clay pidgeon at 6PM"
I was sad he got killed but I'm wondering would he have been spotted so easily in a darker colored car. Also, the biggest gut punch in this movie was those two words :Whose Schaeffer?
Did anyone else notice at the end the map in schaffers hand changed positions from angle to angle, as in hand to other hand. I think they messed that up haha. Amazing movie tho🔥
If you do not wish to eat the fruits of the devil, then do not go into his orchard.
He accepted his fate. He knew he will get thrown under the bus, and he knew he will die, but he loved America like a true patriot. He won, and got what he wanted...
Until he realized in that final moment he was betrayed by the people that recruited him...
imagine just popping into your boss' office and your opener is just IRAN
Guess this was..... "mission impossible" 🥁
You know what I believe? I believe that the good guys have lost to the bad guys because the good guys play by the rules, the bad guys don't.
There are no good guys there, you fool
I get it that guys outside the system try to "game it; it's when inside people (lawyers, judges, Presidents) think "gaming" the process is OK in the name of >>>>>>>>>>(fill in the blank to justify it) that scares me. How do I explain THAT to my kid?? Be honest, be forthright, do what's right, protect others AND the process. And you don't get to be a US Senator, or higher.
Read enough history and you start to notice how little things have actually changed. And people still think it can be fixed in 4-8 years. smh.
I doubt pablo paid that judge off to give up Barry’s location for the next 6 months 😊
100 percent possible lol . he gave 1000 hrs of community service for all the crimes he did.
Greed always gets the best of people. When you have enough disappear.
And definitely don't store most of your cash in one city where to government can seize it. As a pilot, he could have stored rainy day funds in all 50 states and Canada. And then, when he's ready to get out when you have more than enough, take the family, and disappear.
the Real Berry Seal knew he was a dead man once he crossed Pablo Escobar and the kicker is not knowing for sure if it even was Pablo or the CIA to keep him quiet about the things he did for them.
I am surprised this movie made it to the screening.
RIP Tom Cruise 😢
You play, you pay.
He was actually shot 6 times with a suppressed Mac10
Is always 2 routes for guy like him... dead or in the can, but the most important is it always comes to an end.
I say the he got Clintonized.
Coppydoublelopp Kliem I believe the correct term is "suicided" as in "He was suicided" lol
Lmao
Arkancide. Requires the use of nailguns.
@@cpoky Yep, Arkancide - the act of being shot twice in the back of the head and being ruled a suicide.
I agree.
Gives the "Triangle of death" a new meaning
Where are the 248 VHS videos that fit in Barry Seals Cadillac Trunk ?
Or think on this ,seals was never killed at all. That's why everything was so public to make people think he was dead to protect him from pablo . That was probably part of the deal like witness protection.
X to doubt
Lul your wish dude. Welcome to the real world when your government think you're just a statistic and only need your vote in election
Barry Seal was not bitter
2:42 Roll switches hands in shots.
There isn't a single movie without a continuity error
Music ???
Do we know Barry Seal is really dead? Everything is possible.
Yeah, he's pretty dead bro
I knew Barry before he got involved with Air America. He was a sprayer pilot.
Plot twist: The hitmen were actually Ethan and Benji and killed a terrorist who stole one of their masks.
Uhhh ... we all know how hard the year of Covid were like!
Pablo for sure didnt kill him
what agency was that at the end? his badge \said NSC???????????
Great movie,if he didn't have to report every day to the Salvation Army for 100 twenty days he would still be alive. They set him up,the government.
Seal seemed like an overall likable guy, but at the end of it he pissed of some of the most powerful organizations in the globe
What wonderful people to work for...
What is the song name... Please anyone!!

The money wasn't worth it .
Is that “wah wah” by George Harrison playing in the background?
The CIA once offered me a job once....glad I declined
I really think he should of just took the time and pablo would of helped him out any money sitautions pablo trusted this dude so i think snitching was dumb
Detail I didnt notice was him flinching as he turns the car over. Them contras liked their ignition bombs
The Last gone mad searching for Tom Cruise
Cómo se llama la canción del segundo 32?
I think if it was pablos men they woulda slaughtered him or blew up his car.
