Well...Tattletail has the shake light which is a similar concept
It is in a game

Aki, noooo! You need to have the power set to "off" while you spin the flashlight so it has time to build up a charge. Then you turn it on. I really was hoping to see if it would work well when used as directed... but this was still entertaining. It's all good. This isn't meant to be a complaint, it's just feedback that nobody asked for lol.
Your so smart
That’s what I thought
This kind of spining is weird to me... we have these flashlights in CZ but you just "unlock" a little lever to spin not to swing around whole half of the flashlight
It probably just runs on a fairly small capacitor. So it probably last a minute or so. Enough for a trip to the bathroom to find the switch. Not enough for use in an emergency situation
They used to make ones that you shake back and forth and it would charge the light
Aki, you gotta turn the flashlight off while you spin it or to the battery won't charge :)
I was going to say that 😂
Even still, with these types of flashlights, you'll only be able to have it on for about twice as long as you spent spinning it, which is a horrible return on investment.
I think it has a faulty switch she seemed like she tried to turn it off
also these things usually take like 30minutes to charge at all
@@Selendryle yep thats why you get a craftsman CMXZRAZW822 instead
I like to imagine that Aki has a random closet full of all the weird items that she’s collected throughout this series

Yeah North America here and we totally do NOT get any break from studying during school.

The “hardening powder” is worthless since drinking the broth is superior.
Right? Only an absolute coward doesn't drink their ramen broth.

It's defective or aki should have pushed the off button before she started spinning it. They actually do work. They have hand cranked ones in the USA
@@rmclearran1 Yeah, I came here to say that. You normally crank it while it’s off so that it can actually charge. It seems like a lot more work than a regular hand crank though.
there are better designs for crank flashlights, they usually have a lever or a pedal.
OMG YESSSS 💜
For anyone wondering, Aki's shirt says "Hi! I'm an otter, who are you?" in Italian.
That is so cute😭
How defuk is a random chemical that comes in an additional plastic bag, more eco friendly than just poring out or even eating the rest of the broth? You could also just do the same thing with regular flour.
Yeah but if you carry around little packets of flour people question it
As far as it being eco-friendly, I'm 90% sure it's just an aluminum silicate which will do absolutely no harm to the environment
@@Jinx-il9jo The plastic, that powder comes in though. and these small packages are probably wrapped in a bigger plastic.
@@Katojana same issue arises with flower, and whatever you use there are plenty of eco friendly packaging options, you just need to know where and how to look, plus the ramen packaging is much worse
Its eco friendly because the alternative is lots of napkins/ paper towel. if you have access to a drain, use a drain. This is for the garbage can crowd
The cup noodle powder is a classic example of solving a problem that doesn't exist. Just drink the broth. If you're worried about salt you shouldn't eat cup noodle.
also, nothing about that powder looks eco friendly
It can be a bit dangerous if you can’t read the package label and wanna try and eat it (for some reason). I speak some Japanese and in red at the bottom it said “not edible.”
@@CookieBear187 dudeeeee thanks because I was like "Japan... what If someone thinks that you have to add it to the ramen cup because of the instruction drawing :/" ahahha imagine
I always drink all the broth lol, they're too good
You’re actually drinking the nasty leftovers broth that is full of undissolved seasoning?!?
Aki, you need to spin the flashlight with it off. It will save the power. After a while of spinning, you can turn it in and you can hold it like normal.
My family had one of these for emergencies and they can hold power for a long time.
They have the hand cranked variety in the USA and I think that I personally would rather spin it
I think it has to be put back together to work properly.

Be careful of hypertension. There's a metric fuckton of salt in one of those things.

i know similar flashlights like these from germany. but they were with a crank and definitely lasted a little longer!
Same. I got one in Canada many years ago. But I found you had to crank it for a LONG time to get the light to last
Had one in my childhood here in Canada. Also had a built in radio that be brought camping with a crank that’d last longer. It was pretty fun to mess with lol
I think it’s more of a universal crank flashlight
We have those everywhere.
Here in the US, we have a battery-less flashlight that you shake like a shake weight to get it to work.
I still have one lol
Flashlights like that one were pretty popular in my country, at least as someone who used to go to summer camps. They were more convenient than this one, you only had to spin a little handle to charge them.
Edit: and the worked ofc
yes, was about to comment about the same. i still own one of these from camp days
they're not a Japanese exclusive thing. they're in most countries.
I had one that you had to shake, which is honestly more convenient than having to sorta disassemble and then put back together...

I'm amazed there's enough people that don't drink the left over broth from there cup noodle that they made a product just to deal with it

We have a flashlight/radio/charger device that uses that spinning mechanism. I often use it during a blackout. The device should be turned off while spinning so that it can save energy that will later be used to operate the device
in uk we have shake ones, i think but they have been around for years
My dad has a similar flashlight, except it uses a crank instead of a spinny thing, it has a switch that lets you turn it off and save the charge, and it actually holds a charge.
I'm just imagining in a blackout you use that flash light. "Don't worry guys! I got this!" *Starts spinning flashlight*

I feel that you’re supposed to keep the flashlight off when spinning to charge the dynamo in it and then turn it on to use the stored energy. 🤔
You are. Everyone has been commenting the same thing.
Okay with the flashlight, when I was a kid here in the USA, it was like a 90's thing but the flashlight was like the same Concept, that it doesn't need batteries, only to power it you would have to shake the hell out of it and it lasted decently long actually. Mine was clear so I got to see the little bits Inside and how it works
The noodle guard is good if you’re eating and you don’t want ppl to start talking to you like at work. And if anyone thinks you’re being weird it is a legitimate product to use while eating.
Wait... why not just drink the noodle broth? So confused.
Aldo, you gotta spin the flashlight while oof, so it can store some power for using after that. We've had these for quite a while in Europe.
That's what I'm saying. I always drink my ramen broth afterwards
My opinion is some of the instant noodles I've ate be4 were super salty and sometimes i felt bad to drink the broth cuz how salty it is so i just throw it out
@@kiritokirigaya6716 Most of the ramen I eat is the Maruchan brand, which isn't salty at all. In fact I usually have to add some extra spices.
@@ScarletDestiney the ones tht i always ate is the maggie one. That one is hella salty. The broth is good but my dad always said tht its bad drinking the broth cuz there's so much sodium in it thts why i rarely drink all the broth

The hardening powder is probs a super absorbent polymer (like the stuff in baby diapers that makes them absorbent).
Edit: Parenthesis
I was just about to search the what's the stuff on a diaper and yes this is exactly what I was thinking about. Probably it's better to buy in bulk and put them on plastics pouch to save up some money but darn I would just drink the broth, if it's like a big of a deal.
Not more eco-friendly than pour it in the sink with hotwater though... Edit: grammar.
@@LadyOcon Yeah, if that is actually a polymer you've probably made it non-compostable. And if you live in an area where waste water is turned into energy and/or compost then you are actively removing something that would be reused after dumping it down the drain, making it non-compostable, and instead turning it into garbage.
The only reason I'm so early is because I'm sitting in the bathroom, and I needed a video to watch. Aki coming in CLUTCH

The flashlight is supposed to be off when you start spinning. Otherwise the battery depletes while spinning.
Its hilarious that your Boba Tea episode got demonetized but Trash Taste's Tenga episode didn't. That sucks dude.
awe wait that's messed up D:
The hardening powder is also used in the hospitals whenever we are trying to dispose liquid body fluids 😂
Yeah we use this stuff called magic monkey
i think it's also in maxi pads/diapers
We always used kitty litter to clean the fluids at the office I worked at 😅
The broth hardener reminds me of the stuff they would put on puke at school if a kid puked-
It’s water jell/hydroponic jell. The soup hardener is just water jell. We use it to make solid water so our pet invertebrates (especially our scorpion, Bob the Scorpion) don’t drown in their water dishes, @akidearest
I feel like it's more ecofriendly to just drink the rest of your broth but maybe that's just me haha. :-) These videos are so fun and interesting though, thanks for trying these out for us Aki!
lol oh definitely, except the salt isn't very body-friendly...
@@ChillOWisp this type of noodles are not body-friendly,so if you don't want the salt just don't eat that...don't buy a powder to dump it...

When Aki was describing the hardening powder, I instinctively looked at my cat's litter box.
I actually have some lights that charge when you spin a stick that is attached to them , that actually do work. We bought them a long time ago on Ikea.
didnt the flashlight said you have to put it back together after spinning? was that why it didnt work?
maybe you need to spin THEN turn it on because you're using the energy up as you spin it if it's on? i had a flashlight with a similar mechanism (with a handle rather than the whole thing spinning) as a kid for camping and from what i remember it worked
I think the broth hardener is just a hydrogel. It's a type of hygroscopic polymer that's pretty widely available worldwide (if nothing else, you can cut open a diaper to get some, or you could buy some Orbeez), but I wouldn't be surprised if Japan is the only country where it's marketed to make throwing out used broth easier. There's actually a lot of types of hydrogel, though, and I don't know how many widely-available ones are biodegradable, so if this one is, it might actually be unique, at least in terms of easily-obtained hydrogels.
Kinetic flashlights are in America also they usually last longer than that one, they also have crank lamps that work off the same principles that the Amish use.

For the hardening powder, in the US we use similar stuff for paint or oil spills in buildings. Some people use saw dust or kitty litter.
If you come at someone spinning that flash light in the dark, they better run!
Um aki the flashlight is supposed to be off when you spin it and it's along time. America has something similar (shaking flashlight) it's still worthless I think but hey at least it works
Lmao I loooove the new intro I swear I rewind the video a few times just to watch it 😂
When I was younger my mum forced all of us to carry a cranklight. Basically it was a flashlight with a crank on the side of it that popped out and allowed you to crank it and use it. It had a battery slot too, but it was an emergency light that would only stay on while cranking it if you didn’t have a battery. However, it didn’t take much effort and you didn’t have to crank it very hard to actually use it. Seemed like a better version of the flashlight you reviewed that was produced around 15 years ago.

I have a flashlight that has a handle that you pump. So you just hold the flashlight as you normally would and pump the handle with that same hand.
