Good review of the cruise features of a cracking car. I’ve just decided to order one for my daughter as she wants to move up from a faultless mk 1 Aygo. With all the safety features this little car offers I feel confident in its ability to protect her in an accident if needed. I can see myself driving it a lot too, nice & easy with no silly gear changes around town here in Birmingham. Still going to drive the Aygo too as it’s like a little go kart 🤣
Thanks for the virtual test drive. Sounds a bit noisy on the motorway. But I actually ordered this car and it will be arriving in a month from the factory in France.
Interesting that there are no comments yet. Your demonstration of the enhanced ‘cruise control’ system is good. I’m used to the previous Yaris hybrid, and often use the cruise system, but of course it’s all manual. What does it do when someone cuts into your braking distance? Unusual for that not to happen! Evidently the power to weight ratio has gone up a bit, along with the higher traction battery capacity. My main gripe about the previous one is that the battery is a bit too small - often ends up being full on certain downhill routes etc, when it would be useful just to use regenerative braking.
I also came from previous generation Yaris, the new model is so much better, being as the cruise control uses radar, if someone fills your gap it will readjust the desired gap, if someone slows down your car also slows down, if you follow a car up a slip road and they stop your car will come to a complete stop behind them and as they move will follow keeping the safety gap The fuel consumption is a lot better and the acceleration getting on to faster roads is very good, it makes overtaking a lot safer I know Toyota say 112 mph top speed but having now done 2 track days in my Yaris dynamic I can confirm with confidence it’s a lot faster than they officially say It’s also a much better handling car offering lots of grip and next to no body roll, but not sure about the Yaris with 16 inch wheels as the 17 inch wheeled models have different suspension settings and are very sporty and hard
@@paul_nwsxs Wheel size/tyre brands can make quite a difference. Mine came with 16" 195/50 and Conti premium 2 tyres; not ideal for rolling resistance - could be better with other brands. Something to consider when the originals wear out and need replacing.
The car is very capable of long distance travel an high speeds, but due to the restrictions we have in place in north wales with Covid-19 I’m not able to travel anywhere involving a large distance , the car is capable of travelling in excess of 150 kph or 95 mph for long periods of time, but only where speed restrictions allow it to be done legally, in the uk our maximum speed limit is 70 mph
I've always liked the shape of the Yaris but everyone pooh-poohs it's road noise. OTOH I ride a bike with loud pipes, so what is this road noise again?
in my opinion it doesn't have road noise and overall it has pretty smooth ride. make a test drive yourself so you make your own opinion if you consider buying a small car. for me its the best in its class
It varies for different types of driving, time of year and temperature Spring and Summer are usually always better than the autumn and winter I’m averaging 60 mpg at the moment but that’s going to change as weather gets better
@@paul_nwsxs 2020 yaris hybrid i cant use the adapted cruise control right..does it keep distances from the front cars automatically??i press the acc button but the car doesnt keep the distances
I would need to put a scanner on the car But under certain conditions the car can do 70mph on pure electric Cruising on flat road I don’t see rpm as going to be very high Climbing a hill will use more internal combustion engine so revs will be higher
Nice scenery
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!

you will love the new yaris , it handles very well , after you drive it , you won,t want to give your daughter the keys back

the camera and the mic pick up noise that you wont hear in real life
i like the growl from the 3 cylinder engine adds character to the car

great video, very informative... can it make long distance journeys 200-300 miles, in high speed 140-150 km/h? thnx.

@@paul_nwsxs this car is a beauty, it reminds me the 1st gen yaris, groundbreaking and full of character.
Any comments on cruising at 70mph with ECO mode turned on ?
If you’re on radar cruise the car will just do it’s thing
Does not matter what mode your in
It’s the computers working to get best economy

How is the fuel economy doing approx 120-130 kph?
It’s definitely a driver thing, and dependant on terrain, but normally on a 70 mile journey I average high 60,s but I do drive faster than 120kph
