- Resurrection Bay at Seward, Alaska, is where you will find one of the most amazing and abundant assortment of wildlife on the Kenai Peninsula, including sea otters, puffins, sea lions, eagles, and of course, the humpback and killer whales. With the beauty of glaciers and mountain scenery everywhere, this is truly my favorite place to be on the planet.

That's so amazing!! I love that you respected their space and let them decide how close they wanted to get to You!! Such a beautiful encounter.
just shut up
the video was boring
So relaxed with you! That looked like sleep behavior (they switch off half their brain and swim slowly together near the surface, with probably one of them on guard duty).
They have no predators in the ocean except for humans.
@@CleverClover2023 exactly
@@CleverClover2023 no I believe a great whites would attack a smaller one if vulnerable
Hahaa I just love how excited and in awe these guys were!!!❣️
It's always amazing when they come right to you :)
They social structure is so unique. Thank you for the video. This is better than sea world. Save the orcas. Boycott sea world and other water parks that abused orcas!
It must have been great to see so many this close. Amazing.
Truly magnificent. Thank you so much for filming this epic experience so I can breathe in the beauty and awe of it all. You are amazing. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
What a fantastic experience. I love Orcas , they have always fascinated me.
How fortunate you were able to see and video them. Thanks.
I think you disturbed them in their sleep phase. Probably best to keep your distance when they need their rest. But must have been amazing to witness. Lucky you.
Yeah that’s what I commented
To someone who said they should check the laws in Alaska on getting to close. They definitely were trying to get their sleep in
Mesmerizing ✌️
Thanks for posting, Anita and I enjoyed it.
Amazing video boys! High on my bucket list is to see Oracas in the wild! Even better would be to see one swim upside down next to or under the boat!
Bring a carwash type of scrub brush with you! They love being brushed . Helps get rid of gunk that's on their skin.
@@CajunA79, That's a great idea !
Awesome. Bear pics are amazing.
I'm so jealous of you now! I long for the day when I encounter a pod of Orcas up-close and personal next time I go boating or whale watching. What an incredible experience.
They look to be sleeping to me if they are still like that they are sleeping.
Looks like they were resting
Love seeing Orcas in there natural habitat and not SeaWorld they deserve to be Free they are extremely intelligent and live in family's in the wild its nice seeing them FREe
That's how a dorsal fin should look, SeaWorld.
This is so beautiful, I love ❤️ killer whales and all animals
This is an🙌🏼A W E S 😯 M E ! ! video. . . .they are but one of my favorite❣ Sea Mammals.
These giant dolphins are so amazing
And not one fin bent over double
Thats nice to see.
Bent fins don’t mean an unhealthy whale or because they’re depressed or sick. Just to educate you.
@@orcinusapple7343 that maybe so but it’s more common in orcas kept in captivity, and there’s many schools of thought on why the dorsal fin may collapse. One is that it’s to do with hotter temperatures breaking down the collagen and seeing as captive whales breach the water surface more often than their free cousins they’re more exposed to heat. Another theory is that wild/free orcas are able to swim on average a lot faster than those kept in small pools. The force of the water, some experts believe, help to keep the fin strong!! So there’s some schooling for you!!! I was making a point that these animals should be free and not there for our gratification
@@ianmcdonald9885 While I agree that both of these theories are possible and are probably the most likely to be the case, the orcas can’t be released anyway. Especially captive born. But the trainers there care for these orcas like family. They do their best to give them the best care possible, such as making sure they’re healthy and well-fed and get the right amount of stimulation, thus the shows and training sessions to keep them in shape. You can find videos on RUclips on them pausing or stopping shows because the orcas want to do something else. They don’t make them do things, which is what I find very relieving about these parks. Wild orcas mainly only swim because they need to find food, where orcas held under human care already have food given to them, which means they don’t need to swim far anyway.
@@orcinusapple7343 are you are saying orcas are happy in captivity because they dont have to swim to find food which you said is "mainly the only reason they swim"? Also are you stating that Orcas in captivity get the right amount of stimulation via their trainers?
Next time try taking a drone so u won't disturb their sleep by having to come that close.😏
I love orcas 🥰🥰😘😘
They are sleeping you know 👍🏻
What a amazing video! Have u been fortunate to see them again?
Dude, my jaw dropped.
And that minor editting was a much appreciated touch. Absolutely beautiful.

In Washington state there are laws against getting closer than 200 yards of Orcas. Please check the laws in Alaska. These majestic creatures deserve safe peaceful homes. Sometimes you don’t get closer, but they do. That’s ok, but I just thought I’d let you know. Thanks for sharing!! I love orca!
Yeah seems like they were possible tryin to get some sleep in until they decided to move a little closer.
That's good information. I wouldn't have even thought about this.
Tqu 4 the video
I encountered a family of four Orcas in Wrangell Narrows near the fishing village of Petersburg. I was in a 15 ft skiff with a 40 horse outboard. An adult male and female and their twin baby calves. They let me ciiome right up to them. Up close they are huge and magn
Nice guitar playing, on board of a yacht. No moisture and setup and tuning problems? Good job, mate.
These pics of the bears are amazing it seems like you could get paid from a magazine or something for those

Aquaman was nearby.
It's unbelievable how large even the female dorsal fins are... They must be eating good!!
At 4:09 the orca in the back with the "scoop" in the dorsal fin is that AD42 "Marty" ?
Wonder how they sleep and breathe in stormy waters..
They float.
Do you know if these were resident Orcas and If so, wich pod it was, like the AD Matriline?
in the beginning of the video it looks like they stay on the same spot, or is it misleading because of the movement of the boat?
They were in their sleep phase. They were resting. Seems they might have disturbed them in their sleep phase. With a male on their guard duty.
This is a beautiful video, but it looks like you deliberately approached them when you were already very close - isn't that illegal? Aren't you required to stop at a distance, to avoid stressing them or, in this case, disturbing their sleep pattern?
Which is exactly what he did. Disturbed the sleep phase.
I NEVER HEARD A ORCA GROWL😇
How many post can people comment that they are sleeping?
the idiots that sit in their sad little homes watching youtube and thinking they are animal experts have become so pathetic
@@j.sarnak1391 well they definitely were sleeping. But I’m just a marine biologist working in Sarasota fl.
