Jim, Mick, Vman & Eloy now are probably the most solid musical ensemble in metal right now. Excited to hear new music again. Their love for their crafts and tones are what make recorded and live music so enjoyable.
@@perkaholic8787 true, adding brooks to the fold (no pun intended) was an insanely great grab. Yet Mick, Vman & Eloy are like next level when it comes to their crafts training wise. Zack & Shadows are like we're here for a good time, lol. Either way, they're all making spot on music and I'm glad they're in healthy spots in their careers
The kinda guy you want to sit chat and for hours at a laid back BBQ with beers, and move onto bikes, Mopar, everything except music and it would be the best conversation ever, despite him being one of the greatest guitarist of the modern era. Love you Jim 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This band gets the most phenomenal drummers! Eloy is just beyond incredible on the kit. Saw him when he was just a kiid at 14 years old just killing it! It was at an international drum competition which he won!🤘
I really like that he puts his three hair bands around his fingers like that, it’s just one in a long list of things I personally find endearing about Jim xx
Jim is just the coolest cat in metal music today, such a humble and funny dude. I'd love to hang out with him and jam out some tunes. Great interview guys, I really enjoyed it.
I started listening to Slipknot back in 99, my freshman year of high school and I was immediately hooked. Jim has been and always will be my favorite guitarist along with Mick. Just seems like a smart cerebral down to earth kind of guy that I would love to have a beer with and talk music.
After being a fan since the first album, I finally got to see Slipknot at Rockville a few years ago and I couldn’t believe how tight they were and how amazing the sound was. It was insane.
I've listened to Slipknot since 2001/2, when the Iowa album came out. I've never seen an interview with Jim before, but I wasn't expecting him to be a laid back, almost hippie sort of dude. I'm impressed.
Great show Marc! Jim is an amazing guitarist and songwriter and been a fan since the early days! Really cool to see him in this settings! Cheers man and hope all Is well! 🎸
This was awesome seing a 2 hour interview from jim especially him answering questions that some of us wondered about and just the whole show. Love these guys so any interview is always nice 😀
Thanks for this discussion...Jim is a really cool dude and it is amazing that such a chill guy makes such (great) agressive music. Love the contrast. It shows that you can be metal as f... and be a cool guy!
Love Jim. I'm a long time fan of Slipknot, it's really good to see him talk once in awhile. I'm excited to hear the new music that is about to come out. 😁
I bought a .50 Caliber+ brand new and used it for a long time. It was fairly easy to dial in and sounded great. I wouldn't mind owning one again. Holdsworth really liked the original EL84 non+ version.
Man, You have to get Ade Emsley on from Orange. He's an incredible designer that basically saved the Orange brand. Ton's of experience with vintage Marshalls as well.
I already knew this but this interview clarified for me that they just weren't feeling jays style and writing abilities. I've heard that's been a problem for years.
What a fantastic video with a great content and nice format. I immediately subscribed. Interesting to hear Jim almost embarrassed to gig with a Quad Cortex 😂 Well we can say what we want about Digital devices, the truth is nothing will carry better the legacy of the likes of Jim Marshall, Dave Friedman and Leo Fender than Digital. The Valves will wear, the circuits will rust while the Kemper, Quad Cortex profiles of Friedman amps will live forever. Technology will improve regarding aliasing (we already have oversampling) and it will only get better. In 100 years Guitar players will have the opportunity (should they wish) to try an HBE100 thanks to profiles. I am waiting now for the young guy or girl who will invent an incredible tone 100% digital. I already heard of a company creating impulse responses without cab or mics. 100% creativity !!! Keep on rocking guys 🤘🤘
Bummer to hear about Jim’s bad experience with in ears because the mixing techniques and technology has come along way since then but side fills and wedges are cool too. Old school.
Yes …. A year ago Eloy broke he’s right knee at the end of a Sepultura song … 2 months later he was playing with he’s left leg in order to recover as fast as he could …. That’s Eloy …. He’s there to make a difference ! … Slipknot was smart enough to recognize it all …. Maggots new generation of Heavy metal is we’ll served …. 🤟🏾😎👍🏾
Guys I was definitely in your camp but I went with my nephews and brother in law, because my nephews are younger and into slipknot l. Live it was a sight to behold, very theatrical and it was a great time. It opened me up to a great genre/new experience.
“So we can write music worthy of Eloy’s drumming”
Now THAT’S a compliment. Holy s…
Jim is someone you could spend all day with and not get bored, he is just a genuinely good person who views life so positively
Jim is such a cool guy and humble
Yeah he's like the anti rock star!

cant exclude synster gates, zack, m shadows, and wacken from a7x. Theyre insane musicians too.

Thanks for this interview with my amazing son!!!!
Thank you! Jim is a great guy and pleasure to interview!
I can see him and listen to him talking all day without feeling bored, even his way of speaking and his voice everything is perfect.
This is one of those guests where I think a part 2 would not be out of place. Jim is awesome, it's a shame I couldn't make the live show.
1000% agreed. He is a musical marvel, we need all his knowledge, everything he can give us. The man is a legend, thanks for having him on.
Awesome to get to hear Jim chat for 2 hours. Great show!
Thanks for listening!
One of the best interviews with Jim. Thank you! You have a brand new fan.
The Shining desk pad. Nice.

Love to kick it with Jim.. He lives such an amazing life.. Incents, call Of duty, jamming on the guitars.. Then jumping on the Harley for a nice ride
Ola Englund is really working hard with his thing, pretty cool to hear Jim used them! Love from Sweden! Jim is my guitar-hero!

Super episode! Jim seems to be such a cool guy.
Thank guys this was an awesome show!! 🔥
Man this was so good. Thank you for having Jim on. I would love to hear him on another episode again!
Não vejo a hora de ver o Slipknot tocar aqui no Brasil e ver o Eloy destruir na bateria. Vai ser inesquecível.
I bought a .50 Caliber+ brand new and used it for a long time. It was fairly easy to dial in and sounded great. I wouldn't mind owning one again. Holdsworth really liked the original EL84 non+ version.
Very nice video! Cool interview!
11:45 and now theres footage released of them doing exactly this!
Great show and great questions Marc!!!
Jim is the absolute man. 🤘
Great chat
What a cool dude! I’d invite Jim to my barbecue.
I'm mad at myself for missing that one... Will watch it tonight but I'm just mad at myself... lol

In the Disasterpieces DVD, soundcheck part. That's what Jim & Mick were playing
This show was quite good
Thx. Excellent video
$2.00 pitchers at The Runway with Filthy Wilma and Saturn Cats.. I remember that lol.. Surprisingly no bar fights. Good ole days for sure.
Ha…Filthy Wilma….”I betcha poop good” 👍
Awesome
This is my first time hearing Jim speak. He seems lovely. Given the band and their image, I was expecting someone more intense and serious.
Jim is a child of hippies
Thanks Jim, inspired me to pick up my guitar again. Playing Metallica and Sabbath riffs on a cheap tele.
Wish I could have been on the live. Work had other plans
You've had 2 of my Favs of all time, Jake.E.Lee, Jim Root, Please get Gary Holt in there ASAP😈😈👿👿💀💀☠☠🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Am not a slipknot fan at all but Jim is a cool guy excellent show ..cheers
The shining mouse pad is lit
The new drummer is not human a freaking animal 😎

I cannot belive that we are going to hear Tattered and torn live again....
Would love to know if any more fret 12 guitar playthroughs are in the works? Or rig run downs? See ya this summer!
So Jim root and Richie Faulkner don’t use in ears. So they just use ear plugs? What is a great ear plug that stops all that noise on stage? Thanks
I actually took care of Jim's lawn in Jacksonville
How can this podcast only have 30k subs?
Like, the carpeting from the shining bro
I already knew this but this interview clarified for me that they just weren't feeling jays style and writing abilities. I've heard that's been a problem for years.
What kind of motor cycle do you ride?

What you describe as the future is already there.
It would be absolutely awesome if you guys could get jerry cantrell on this show at some point.
Jim is so right about Eloy. For a moment I thought slipknot didn’t know exactly how a world class drummer Eloy is.
Liar’s funeral is a great song!
JIM FUCKIN’ ROOT!
the amount of “ya know” being said is crazy 😭
Quad cortex in the desk and ax3 live.
Dude!! He’s a conspiracy theorist!!! I love it!!!
Sad. Theres a reason they aren’t conspiracy facts
Interview Mick and Vman too

I think as a Slipknot fan,i think the correct choice for drums was Eloy or El Stepario Siberiano or Mike Portnoy
I want to have a discussion with Jim about motorcycles so bad
😍!!!!!!
Marc where did you get the RUSH Tee, I have not seen that one, is it a Tour Tee??
I like how cool he was with clown just destroying his guitar.

you will be down drunk after 1 min
Jim should check out Thomas blug's AMP X !
1:08:15 Garage Days? You ain’t never heard of Garage Days!?
Yes I’ve heard of the album I just never listened to it. I prefer original music but I’ll check out their covers
I've always wondered how does someone find the time to play 250 guitars?
One at a time 😊
I have *zero interest* in Slip music but Jim is a super cool dude.
100% same. I couldn’t care less about Slipknot, but I’ve always found Jim pretty interesting.
