I adore how passionate Jim is toward the kids and youth. His focusing on keep the prices low so they can afford to buy their own Jim Root Squier guitar. The man is a legend. So passionate about music, kids and youth.
Even after all this time, success didn't change him, and you can sense that. I've watched so many videos of him, it's obvious he's not faking it. Good man.
Honestly, I love how Jim lives in the real world. At 25:41 they start talking about where his new sig is going to be made and he goes on to mention how he wants to keep costs down for the kid with his first job or the single parent who wants to buy a birthday present... Honestly... the dude just blows my mind. Most other artists with sigs just go straight high end with no compromises. Jim's just keeping in mind that real people are going to be buying his stuff and it shouldn't cost them an arm and a leg. I need to meet this man, shake his hand and just say thanks for staying so cool despite the fame.
Some guitarist want to make it possible for kids or adults to get into playing. Affordability does help and to get a awesome axe. Jim loves Fender and he shows that their guitars are able to be played. Tom Araya of Slayer did not have a custom. He wanted kids to be able to go to a guitar shop and pick it up at a reasonable price to also sound just like what he uses. Mick in Slipknot is down to earth also. He loves his craft
I'm a huge fan of Jim too and kinda get your point. But here in the EU his Mex Jazzmaster is currently on sale for 1.5 grand. That's... got nothing to do with a real world or down to earth gift a single parent could afford for their kid's birthday:D Here in germany the average monthly income after taxes is 2.2k. For childless singles, so without the costs of a child.

Things are so expensive now a days, especially instruments. Refreshing to hear, thanks Jim! Great video too!
Fucking best ever interview, so natural and shit. You definitely got my subscription.
Mannn thank you so much!
@@xanderraymondcharles Thank you for the video ! Greetings from France ! ;)
I’ve watched this so many times getting something new every time 🤘
Jim Root seems like a truly great human there’s no faking that! You as well X
As much as I’d love to hear “Scissors” live again, stuff like “Red Flag” has to take priority. That one and “Orphan” are absolute bangers.
Such a great interview, shows how cool and easy take of a guy Jim is, just awesome, i hope you get a lot more interviews with other guitarists that feel this cool and intimate
Thank you so much buddy I do too!
When are we getting a Jim Root solo album like Mark Morton did??
That would be dope af
Love that Jim let the interviewer play his guitars. also love that he called the new guy Tortilla Man
I just started to get into slipknot and I am just really impressed by Jim he's seems like a down to earth guy, and just the fact that he got fender to make a "metal" guitar is just awesome, great video SMR as usual.
Great job with the interview. He's such a down-to-earth guy who just loves talking about his craft. Thanks!
Hey thanks for your comment!
This is hands down the best jim root interview I've seen, Ray. You killed it. It's so cool you got to play the new jazzmaster through HIS rig and he even showed you how to play the riffs dude 😂 so sick. You definetly deserved this \m/
Cody thank you so much man. Thanks for always having my back and digging what I dig
Jim seems like such a nice guy with zero ego
Can we get a Mick Thomson WANYK rig rundown pls next
He has too much shit 😂
Its in the middle of this interview ruclips.net/video/tBiCqm4RU_E/видео.html
James talking about kids who wants a guitar from his hero, so humble and down to earth, love this guy
Great job. Good to see an interviewer that knows when to talk and knows when to keep quiet.
Thanks so much!!!
Jim is so cool. Credit for him for trying to keep the cost down for the next generations.
Are we ever gonna see Craig Jones Rig Rundown
What an awesome, modest dude.
Best rig rundown I've seen so far! Seems like Jim is an amazing guy just to hang out with.
I don't know any of this technical stuff about guitars. But watching Jim nerd out about guitars and his gear brings a smile to my face. Much respect to him for being so passionate for his craft. And congrats to you, for landing this interview. This was really cool to watch.
wow, I've never been a fan of slipknot, but damn.. Jim is such a cool and humble guy, my jaw just dropped.
Jim Root is unequivocally one of the coolest most down to earth men I’ve ever seen. As a parent, I absolutely love that he recognizes that there’s quality gear out there without breaking the bank.
Thank you, Jim for keeping in mind all the teenage kids and families that want their kids to have great guitars! I come from a guitar playing dad who wanted me to play but he received a band teacher instead 😎😂🤷♀️
That guy is just the sweetest... He gives guitar lessons, he's humble and almost shy. So lovely.
The best rig run down interview ever. Came here for Jim stayed for the interview format.
Thank you so much! It’s so cool to see everyone digging this video!
Very nice job guys, I feel like your just hanging out more then just A interview. Thank you Ray and Crew, And thank you Jim and Crew.
Yeah I agree! The whole video was spontaneous and natural. Not scripted at all! Thanks for watching!
im not even the biggest Slipknot fan but I could listen to Jim talk guitars and gear all day. You guys had great chemisty in this video and it mustve been a thrill to meet ur idol. good shit man
Hey thanks so much. It was an awesome experience
"I'm still with Orange, but I needed a _real_ amp"
Savage
He was saying he needed something small to jam with that's why he got the small evh lunchbox head
He said that when he was jamming he was using a line 6 helix, which is a modeler. His timing was just off. He wasn't saying anything about Orange at all.
erroneous
Awesome stuff man! Jim seems like a proper nice geezer too. Sooo jealous of you being able to have a go on his Jazzmaster. Keep it up mate!
Jim is one cool ass dude. To let the interviewer play his guitars and just start talking about the guitars while the interviewer is holding them, is pretty damn awesome. Good job Jim.
