- Jim Root, number 4 from Slipknot spoke to me about his struggle with OCD, getting old, beeing a part of one of the biggest metal bands and his everyday life on tour. I also asked him to choose between one day with Donald Trump and one week with Nickelback on the bus - check out what was his answer ;)

This is probably my fav Jim's mask, so clean yet so badass.
The beard and the hair definitely finish it off. The mask fits the man underneath.
I love the mask too but I prefer it dirtied up a bit so it doesn’t look as clean

It’s weird, I like his WANYK mask, but I don’t really like The Gray Chapter mask. My favorite mask of his is the AHIG mask.
I prefer his ahig mask. Looked badass and kinda creepy.

Jim Root is my favorite rockstar on this planet. He is such a humble, genuine and awesome guy. His stage presence is just out of this world. He's the reason I started to play guitar!

Jim has always been my favorite member. Incredibly talented, humble enough to lay back and fit in his spot, but also incredibly smart and always has a very interesting take on the Slipknot anomaly throughout the years

I went to a signing years ago (Subliminal Verses era) and met all of them and they were all friendly but Jim was like the 'gentleman', he would really thank each person for coming in that awesome voice. Comes across as a great guy :)

Jim Root is so watchable. i could watch him for so long!. he is also very intellegent! "rock comes and goes every 10 years", he is not some asshole who keeps saying "rock is dying because of pop, rock is superior and pop is inferior", "nowadays music is the worst". he is such an inspiration!
If you watch any of his videos when he's UNMASKED he is a genuine man. The fact that he says hes still learning how to play and doesnt feel like a HUGE rock star is just pure honesty. A real person being fuckn real.
If he's awkward then I must be super awkward lol loved the interview and I always enjoy Slipknot one on one interviews because there's a lot more to each member than meets the eye! Listening to Jim Root is so entrancing. He has so much experience and insight. It's like listening to your grandpa talk about his war stories.
Each member that Slipknot has had, has shown to be very well spoken, open minded and smart. It´s incredible to listen to these men´s music and then to listen to them speak. They are real artists. It´s not about metal, it´s about music at this point. They are one of those bands that have kept their voice loud and clear about their ideas on the world and music.
Edit: Unprofessional? nah, showing love for the band that you are interviewing is never a bad thing.
I've been binge watching newer Slipknot interviews, and I must say this has to be the best yet! Great questions, hes such a laid back guy.

The fact that after 20 years, I am still buying, and getting excited for this band says a lot. I think it is the passion you can feel that keeps most coming back.
He is such an awesome and kind guy. Met him after a show a couple of years ago and he really took his time to chill and talk with us, we were only a few people, but he was such a nice guy to us! He is an amazing musician and a straight up nice guy.
The first time I saw Slipknot was as if I had 10 cups of espresso all at once. I was breathing hard, my heartbeat was through the roof, and was just floored watching the pit. Amazing guitar players and to see Jim speak so humbly is just amazing. Such a smart well-spoken man.

I've been in the industry for my whole life and Jim is easily one of the nicest pros I've ever met.
I hung out with him in LA for less than 10 minutes one day after he finished a meet and greet with 100+ people. We talked about our love of Jazzmaster guitars.
I ran into him the next day and he smiled really big and called me by name. I was floored that he remembered me, let alone my name.

This guy is my favorite Slipknot member and is in my top 3 of my favorite guitar players. Pretty humble, with interesting ideals and ofc talent to creat great music. He is pretty underrated in my opinon
