Now Mick's voice is drop G
Lmao
God tier comment
Ironically i put a tuner when he spoke, his voice is in Drop B1 (Bass tuning) lol
Baritone
Accurate
his voice really suits with his face and body shape. he's a metal monster and we all love him
Especially his laugh at the end of the video!
he just screams nathan explosion
Agree
I agree.. But.. "his voice suits his face and body"? What a weird thing to say😂 the whole comment feels inconsistent and strange, sorry, but i agree that micks a cool dude to hang with.
He doesn’t even compare to the RUclips corpse
Mick is probably the only member who is just as scary without the mask
True that! :D And on top of that, he's an awesome dude too. //Kris
Have you seen clown Bc that dude looks like a serial killer
Dude I met Slipknot in Des Moines (it was the slaughterhouse haunted house), I walked up to them completely shook. I’m an Iowa kid born and raised so seeing them was like meeting our gods. Anyways, I walked up to Mick first and he was seriously the nicest guy. Also, easily the most scary looking in person. It was so wild. I think he could tell I was totally star struck and him and clown were so cool to me. Such a great day.
@@scrubbingbubbles1098he looks like a regular dude
Yeah he's just as intimidating as fuck.
He sounds exactly the way I imagined he would sound.
My fucking thoughts exactly!!
Same here. He embodies slipknot so well.
Sounds a little like dimebag
Does anyone else think Mick should be doing voiceover work?
He would totally kill it narrating a documentary about outlaw country.
He has the voice for many types of things i would like to watch
Why
He sounds like Tank from Surf’s Up
@@danutd94 holy fucking shit your right
Big man with a big voice. Mick should do a metal podcast or channel with those talking pipes.
He's on par with Phil Anselmo...
*drops pick
"these things just don't move..."
I died🤣🤣
In his relationship with his wife, Mick is a big giant cuddly teddy bear.
Inside Slipknot, he's regarded as a metal monster on the guitar.
But to the fans, he's a big, loveable Aussie. Mick is fucking awesome.
Mick is the dad or uncle type ya want to chat with or hang out with to see the view of different point of views and that's why I respect him.
is mick from australia?
@@hoanghoangie7557 No, he's from De Moines Iowa
aussie? go back to metal pre school. 😂
Mick isn't Australian.
Mick starts off cold and then just totally becomes himself and we all love it.
My grandpa is like that sometimes but he's a Virgo lol and Mick is Scorpio 😂
Whenever he’s live, his guitar looks like a toy on him.
It would be funny if he played a pink one
@@Different-Level his wife I think has a pink guitar lol
@@angyd hello kitty one 😀
I’m a full inch taller than Mick, and yes I do live with back problems too but if you’re 6’5” and play guitar for a living and you don’t hurt every single show then you really aren’t doing your job properly! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Except for the double rhoads that thing look huge on him
Even this dude speaking voice is metal
Mick is such a nice, humble guy. Great guitarist too.
Slipknot might be that secret friendly band you can hang with on a super chill level. After watching Mick, Jim, Corey, Joey, Paul, Jay....just all the guys...you realize just how eloquent they really are, and how passionate they are about their art. This was a great interview.
Dear Mick,
I remember my first slipknot concert when I was 16 years old at the two days a week festival 2002 in Wiesen, Austria - I was in front of you and my nose was bleeding - it was brutal :) but the best and first metal concert in my life! Do you remember, Mick? You looked at me! At this time Mick was my GOD and I decided to learn to play the guitar...
Now I play for 18 years and the answer is also: GOD
32:06 that is so percussive even though it isnt plugged in! It just looks like a straight alternate picking pattern even though it isnt.
Bruhh 😱😱
I have a Jackson Strat that I played on stage lots of times... it has no knob for volume, its just a on/off switch.... no tone, no switching... just on and off..... love it.... Glad to hear Mick does almost the same thing...
For how big and scary the dude looks he’s a great listener and communicator.
Also, mick always repping the silver and black. Go Raiders
Mick is an awesome dude and always up for a little guitar nerd talk. haha! You can tell how much he loves everything about guitars. //Kris
What made me a Instant MIck Thomson freak is when i watched the video of him tracking " Gematria" and "Vendetta"!
Goddamn! The playing and tone is just Godly!
A guitar that has a loooong story behind it, love it
I have no idea what they’re talking about half of the time but I’m enjoying every second
When Mick mentioned soldering the pickup directly to the jack, I could not agree more. I have a BC Rich I threw together and when I wired the pickup right to the jack, that had the chunkiest guitar sound I think I have ever heard to this day. I’ve worked at a music store and had many guitars fly in and out, and nothing will beat the sound for pickup output than my BC Rich. Guitar nerds, Try it for an experiment
I fixed Amen’s Casey Chaos’s guitar years ago. An EMG 81 strait to the jack. It's nuts, but it gave them their tone. For my Les Paul, I cut the tone pot out, so it's just a volume knob
Wow thomann what can I say? That was such a great interview! I never realized just how much of a gear head Mick is,hes was so engaging and you could just feel the passion throughout the whole thing.
Im happy to hear him talk so much
Interviews with this guy are always incredibly soothing. I could have a root canal without anaesthesia listening to Mick talk.
The fact that he still has the guitar he used to record the self-titled is incredible. In fact, he already had that guitar a long time ago, since 1993.
One of the best rig reviews ever. Very interesting set up indeed. Impressed with the originality , Mick knows his shit man.
what an inspiring guy Mick is and really grounded as a human being.
I would love nothing more than to have my son win this guitar!! I have loved Slipknot since 1999 Tatto the Earth Tour and now my son can play their songs!! Thanks for being awesome Mick!!!
I had to do a second take and make sure this isn't the Anderton's channel when I saw this in my feed. Seems like they beat you to it by a day.
wrongfuture Haha! Well they played in the UK before they arrived in Germany. 🤷♂️
Good thing is, the vids focus on different things. I hope you enjoyed both. //cheers, Kris
Did you interview Jim Root?
I love Mick!! He’s one of my favorite people from Iowa and my favorite Jackson/Ibanez player of all time!!!!
He is so a silent person. It's kinda like when he's around every person can calm down. Idk he has a soo powerful voice and he don't need to be loud he's just respectful
Mick is chill but intimidating. He's always been my favorite.
Yeah he's just as intimidating as fuck.
@@kristenellsworth9621On stage, prick.
God did!
Great interview and awesome guitar! This Jackson with his SD signature pickups sounds kick ass, at least from what I've heard on RUclips. Love the locking nut and fixed bridge combination also. I'd love to be able to play it myself!
Mick's voice is so metal
Fuck yeah it is.
I was late to heavy rock and metal. I didn’t discover Tool, AIC, etc until I was 19 in Iraq. I absolutely fell in love with metal at that time. Slipknot was a band some of the kids were into when I was In high school but I didn’t like it but I never ever heard it. In school there were cliques and that heavy music wasn’t something I was exposed to but some kids were and loved it. Once I heard it I was taken by it. The Subliminal Verses is an amazing piece of work.
Great interview! I love the attitude of Mick and Chris. The answer - God.
EvoSvex Thanks man! It was such an awesome talk with Mick and Mike. You gotta love their commitment and passion for tone!! //cheers, Kris
Awesome 2 Mick interviews in 2 days!
Deryl JAS haha, yeah tell me about it. I had to rearrange all my questions and avoid those being asked already. 😁 Luckily Mick and I always have an awesome chat, so he made it really easy for me. //cheers, Kris
The most intimidating look in metal. 20 yeas ago, I was scared of this guy's look. Now he is my hero
GOD FARTED! Such a beautiful and amazing playing guitar I had the luck of getting to play one at my local guitar center and man I fell in love with it. Been a fan of slipknot for as long as I can remember and mick you were my inspiration to pick it up and start learning. Even if I don’t win the giveaway I am buying one of these for myself come my birthday. Thank you for all your work mick, rock on! 🤟🏻
5:51 Damn. Even Mick got the LED lights for his gear.
The answer is God 😇💨
This is the most detailed video about his rig so far, thank you for sharing with us! I really love the specs of the "Stormtrooper", especially the neck design that looks pretty comfortable to play and the hardtail bridge with locking nut feature which keep this great guitar in tune! I wish I'll be the lucky one 🤞
Mick’s white Jackson is literally his Ibanez with a Jackson headstock.
i mean... not really...
It ‘literally’ isn’t
Mister Tee yeah
@@MisterTee Yeah it is.
@Leo Speed just got the mtm1 in devil red. Sick guitar, I sold only one guitar that disapointed me and it was a jackson. Ibanez have way better playability and sound imo.
HM-2 is my baby. I have had it for nearly 20 years, and it's never been far. Sounds amazing on a bass as well :D
"These things just don't move outta your fingers" *cries in pickless hand*
Hit the God fart patch........lol. I thought at the beginning of the interview that it was going to be a bit strained, but once Mick started talking about his guitars and gear there was no stopping him.....the man loves his guitars and gear....😎
I got to play this guitar and it was probably the sickest moment in my guitar career so far
Mick is the man. Well spoken and very clear expressing his views. And a fucking killer guitarist 🤘
King Mick. Underrated guitar player! .. excellent!
The answer is “God” , as he said himself in the interview. I would love to win this guitar because I could never afford to buy one myself, but I think everyone here deserves it!
its like 600$ used
@@andy_182 and Im guessing that you consider that affordable, right?
@@Simon_D01 600$ is nothing
I like to imagine mick is blind but walls are too afraid to run into him
This is awesome. I also remember watching Kris do a demo of a triple recto way back in the day haha
The answer is: God
Mick and Jim are my guitar heroes, it wold be weasome to win that guitar from Mick, here in Colombia is difficult to could get one of those.
Mr Seven and Jim are my guitar idols too \,,/
Answer is "God"
Loved the interview and seeing his whole rig!
Mick: "Hey, I've got to take a piss."
Interviewer: "Oh, Wow"
Mick: ".........................."
King Mick! This was so cool to watch.
I do love how the neck of that guitar feels, I have the cheaper model of course. It just feels right when I play it.
Reminds me of my stepbrother, just an absolute monster of a man and plays guitar like a mad man. Crazy thing is, he's a computer engineer, lol. Humans are cool.
Yee man
I have 14 guitars and the one with my favorite neck is a cheap ESP LTD F-100. I never would’ve gotten it if I hadn’t played it first. It feels like it was made for my hands.
Wow his voice is amazing
I 100% agree with Mick on locked FR-style bridges. My ibanez RG stays in tune better than any fixed bridges I've ever had. fine-tuning and double-locking is the best for me.
Same. I always loved the way floyds felt so I'd just block them.
That's funny, I've literally never been able to get a floyde to behave on my own. Even with like a month of trying to go through all the steps, getting the intonation tool did nothing to help. I've only ever has one work when I just broke down and paid a shop to do it. They are annoying as fuck.
huh. Maybe it just comes down to the individual guitar.@@DamageInc86
Slipknot doesn't need security as long as they have Mick.
Got that right.
Loved this! Was surprised to not see any noise gates with all the fuzz, but i am a diggin it. A true pro!
5:17 that’s what I say about my Weiner

Dude Mick is awesome
In regards to his Indonesian guitar, where the tech said it plays and sound phenomenal. 100% truth. I have two MII Warriors and they are the best guitars I own. It used to be MIJ or MIA were where it was at for guitars. Indonesia seems to be the one pumping out quality at a great price.
Man, Mick looks exactly as he did in the 2005 DVD when they all revealed their faces.
He doesn't ages
Something tells me he drives a Porsche. But can’t imagine him driving one. I can only imagine him driving a monster semi with jacked up suspension
Glad to see him with Jackson
Mick is SUCH A HUGE BEAST.
Fuck yeah he is.
Absolutely incredible!!! Mick is Surgical with his sound, if u took 10 Ounces of wood off the Body of the guitar he could tell u exactly how it would change its sound.
Answer is: God
Would love to get my hands on this Jackson such a great guitar. Is so good to see in-depth interview on all the gear and thinking behind Mick’s sound.🎸🤘
God farted, mick and jim are actually my main influences for playing guitar so i really owe it to them and actually get a model of micks guitars would be so awesome :)
im impress when the guitar tech guy found back the pick.
I've always believed Kerry King is hyper-jealous of Mick Thomson stealing his hype, being a bigger metal monster, and over all being a better guitarist.
Riiiiight, KFK who's written some of the most Iconic riffs ever. Been thrashing for 35 yrs and sold millions of albums Is jealous of Mick Thomson? Where'd you get that idea? lol 🤔
What the fuck are you even talking about 😂

Soooo many awesome metal guitarists: 'I had a 2-3 year loan on my guitar, I'll bet damned if it's stolen'
Makes me feel not so shitty about having awesome gear
Centuries ago, there was a legend of a man who would come and save the earth from destruction. A man spoken about only in legend. Years passed and the earth fell deeper into the darkness. The only music was bubblegum pop, and the people of earth had become mindless puppets. And then everything changed. The skies split open and A meteor crashed to earth. The humans gathered around in awe, then all of a sudden, the meteor broke open.. and a man stepped out. He towered above the humans, his long flowing black hair blew in the wind as if it was it's own entity, and on his arm was emblazoned a mysterious sigil.... 'SEVEN'. It was the man the legends had told of. He had come to free the earth from enslavement. He raised his mighty arms, clenched his teeth and then, dwelling from all the power within him, he let out a mighty battle cry from the deepest regions of his posterior.. *FAAAAAAARRRRRRRTT* all of a sudden, the humans heads all began to move in unison.. they threw their hands in the air.. and began to chant.. "metal... metal... metal..." the world was whole again. The man known as Seven had saved humanity from its musical oppressors and Heavy Metal was born. So yes.. to answer the question, god farted. Not the one you wanted, but the one we all needed.
Please explain bro, i can't sleep or find answers on the internet pleaaase ffs
