Juells, you got so much good damn common sense ! people are truly missing out by not watching your videos. The #1 thing that brought me here on your channel is your 100% good common sense , which is so lacking today everywhere ! All I can say, you never have to worry about your kids, cause they are well trained with good sense to honor life liberty & the pursuit of happiness . . . . .Right On Right On 😎 God Bless My Distant Friend 🙏
Hi Juells, i'm from New Zealand and married to a Filipina and we have a home in Northern Cebu. The same thing happened to us in a small town north of our place called Damulog when i turned left at the local hardware store. It was 2010, and a young guy, riding HabalHabal, overtook us at very high speed plowed into us and we crashed onto the road.Luckily we were not hurt much apart from abrasions. The Police got involved, but because the kid, (21), had no money, i declined to press charges. I should have because his family ignored me when we passed their house out walking after that. (Ungrateful.) In my country, i'm an old Highway cop both Bikes and Black and Whites. Your advice to viewers about not using motorcycles as personal transport is sensible advice. We gave our Kawasaki away to my wifes brother following that incident. Take care Juells. Bob. NZ.
Even for filipinos the law is one sided. My filipina friend went to the Police station to make a complaint about a filipino who is refusing to pay his debt to her (he bought things from her). Well, turns out the police chief is a cousin of the guy. So the police chief confiscated my friend's phone, put his gun to her head and threatened to kill her if she didn't drop the case. True story
I agree with your rant and feel ya. You are right brother on all accounts! Ill tell ya, that hit run feller, he needs to be located and dealt with either way. So sorry you’ve had to deal with all this crap. Get well and keep your head up.
Hey Juells you’re doing good buddy! You have been through a lot the past few months, you have your family and wife and many friends brother! You’re right the world has changed big time bud. You just needed a good vent today buddy, get it out and let it go man! Love you buddy hang in there there are some good folks out here still!! Your good people friend 😊!!!
Glad you’re doing better buddy. As far as your rant, you are spot on with this conversation. I been coming here 20 years and enjoy it here but sometimes I have the same feeling as you. We are here for 3 months this year. Thanks for the video brother
Hey brother. Your videos on your motorcycle accident has been EXTREMELY helpful for my family! We’re moving there in the summer. My 18 year old son insisted on getting a motorcycle when we arrive. Told him nope. We’re sticking with a 4x4 truck exclusively because bikes are too freaking dangerous. Showed him your videos. He’s thinking logically now. Thanks!!!
I’m also an US expat. Yes I agree with everything you said, except one. You said you don’t want to generalize on all Filipinos. Well, all Filipinos, no matter how close of a friend you think there are, will talk behind your back. Even close family members that you have help out in some way or occasionally take out to eat, will talk dirt behind your back. This behavior isn’t just directed against foreigners but also directed against other Filipinos. It’s very much a cultural thing to put on a fake smile. I would also say, those beggars on the street, whom you have handed out money to, would themselves walk over your body if the roles were reversed. The Philippines has made me very jaded. Maybe it is the crushing poverty that changes the true goodness in men and women heart.
Sorry to hear about what happened to you and your wife and hoping for a speedy and full recovery for both of you and that somehow justice is served and that the ahole who injured you two is apprehended AND actually held accountable. Have to say overall you're in very good spirits considering the horrible experience you are going though.
Juells, Brotha I agree Completely with your opinion (s) this video hits the nail on the head.i have been following you for sometime now. My first comment to you and your beliefs. Unfortunately I am laid up healing myself not from a accident. But mark my word when I am able to get around. I would cherish meeting you and family for dinner. Keep the videos coming. The best to you and family...Right On!!!
Great video Juells!!!! I am glad you are feeling better. 2 thumbs up my friend!!!! Juells I live here for 17years now and I dont trust nobody. I always call it the way I see it. God Bless my friend!!!!
Pretty good rant. But I can't blame you at all. Anyone that knows you, knows you love the Philippines and its people. Sadly, what you describe is part of the problem that has kept the country from developing faster.
Don't know which comment you are replying to about stereotyping because I don't see it. But that said you do know that the very basis of stereotyping is routed in truth to caricature of the subject demographic? Only based on facts like almost all gun crimes/injuries/deaths(53%) are committed by the protected class at 6%
Just had to drive to Dumaguette yesterday 4 hrs from Neg Occ in my multicab on a visa run. It's always an iffy trip with potential disaster around every corner but im used to it. Probably over 50% of vehicles on the road aren't registered and driven with no licence with faulty mechanical and bald tires and are an accident waiting to happen. Traffic is fairly light on the trip until about Dauin and gets crazier going into Duma. I'd never ride a bike in that entire area and I've ridden all kinds of bikes all my life. I saw about 20 close calls on my trip that could of ended on death and was so thankful to have 4 good wheels under me and be surrounded by metal.
First of all I'm glad you and your wife are both well. Second It's good you post this accident and your previous illness test. It's reality of what can and does happen abroad. It's not always happy rainbows and sunshine days in the Philippines. Just crossing the streets is like a game of frogger 😂. Again im glad you are alive and well. 🙏🐻
You're the Energizer bunny, a Timex watch... takes a licking and keeps on ticking. God bless, brother. That's why my bike is parked and we take the car. It's a Wigo and dirt cheap to run. My wife gets our AC cleaned for 300 pesos. The more I watch, the more I relate to you. Take care.
Yes we can hear the frustration in your voice. I had a friend that the exact same accident happened, Needed to turn left, checked his mirrors and saw no one, signaled and then in the middle of the turn someone hit him from the left side. He had no idea where the guy came from, and why he did not see his turn signals. The the police asked him if he would pay for the other guys motorbike to get fixed....imagine that nonsense, And of course the guy did not pay for any of my friends medical expenses not repair the broken parts. Be careful out there.
Once I rented a car in Cavite from a filipino. I parked the car in front of my filipina girlfriend apartment. The neighbour's son (looking like 16 yo), who probably doesn't a driver's license, got the family car out their yard and hit my car. When I came out, his mother came on the scene and started implying that it was my fault, that my car was not parked properly. Which of course was total bullshit. When the owner of the car (the one I rented from) arrived on the scene, he gave it to her and she had to pay
may you all get well soon. i don't really have a dog in this fight, but can't argue with putting all info about living in Fils as foreigners out there so people can make a more informed judgement about whether to live or even travel there. props to you for keeping it real, in your own good ol boy fashion.
Hi juells. I think you are a really good man Really enjoy your videos but when you do these content videos and I know you know this but I’ll mention it anyways. You always have a few bad apples. You could be the best person and still you will have the negative comments Just ignore this negativity. I know it’s not easy but better on your health it takes all kinds to make the village. The good. Bad and then the dumb. Keep up the good videos you do. Stay safe my friend and merry Christmas to you and your family 👍🇨🇦
Very good point I hope some hear... the what if? what if the USA changed some laws to reflect fairness, mostly how the law and justice work and immigration...One big example if you bring your fiancée to USA get married then break up, they still hold their green card noooo problem but what happens to your 13A.... yeah just one example.
Bro, i watch you to see how "its gunna be" wen we take up redidence there in Bulacan. I appreciate ur cander! Its far from perfect anywhere- hamg in there!!
I agree the Philippine drivers are the most inconsiderate. Glad you are getting better. I hope your wife wasn't hurt too bad also. Praying for a hedge of protection for you and your family ❤
Crosswalks are merely decorations on the road here. That blow the horn and wiz around you almost striking you like it would be all your fault if they did.
Filipinos walk the same as they drive. People always bumping into us, cutting across abruptly forcing us to stop or take evasive action. There's a filipino word for that kind thing, bastos (being rude). And they never apologize.
I’m a good driver. Ive driven in all kinds of weather and conditions. Better off not driving at all in PH. I’m not going to the Philippines to die in a traffic accident. I’m setting things up so I can take an elevator to get to the gym/cafe/market/supermarket. It’s enough of a risk crossing the street…I’m comfortable taking that risk. I’m not paying extra for the chance to get smashed up worse than that. Glad you dodged the worse case scenario this time round.
There are more Filipinos and Filipinas in the United States then there are Americans in the Philippines so if they complain then just throw that back at them. There are 4.4 million Filipinos living in the United States and only about 600k Americans living in the Philippines 🤷🏻♂️👍 I’m American and grew up near a large Filipino community and fell in love with the people and culture when I was a kid and now I’m 47 and retired from the military and living here in the Philippines and happily married to my Filipina wife and we have one kid already and plan on having a couple more.
First time seeing one of your vids, I saw you in one of TexasFilipino's Videos. There are a ton of keyboard warriors that have pathetic lives and nothing better to do than troll people on youtube, I suggest you find their comment and from there you can pretty much make it so their comments aren't visible on your channel so they are essentially blocked. Its unfortunate but these people are everywhere regardless of how nice the youtuber is.
as an ex-expat 30 years in different countries but back home now,I have seen that mentality and behaviour everywhere.... including my home country where I have returned now.
Damn it's one thing to be a greenhorn. It's another thing when someone who has lived there for years and is well aware of the danger and is still blindsided. That's scary man. Riding a motorcycle sounds like fun, but if even an experienced driver is getting harmed makes me want to taxi anyway.
You know Juells I don't know you from Adam but I've followed your adventures in the Philippines cause you make sense in how you've struggled to survive with such hardships that have confronted you there. But, in this video you made some very strong and very good points concerning our relationship with the Philippines. As a US citizen along with our government we help the Philippines defend it from the abuse China poses. The Philippines government should be just as attentive to care for expats as it does it's natural born citizens. I don't mean for this to go too political but hey, those politicians are there to help it's people (including it's expats) to live as safely and orderly in such a beautiful place that it is. AND THOSE AVERAGE FILIPINOS LIVING THERE SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THAT TOO!!!
Last year I hit a hole in the road and my bike flipped, busted all my ribs on my right side, broken elbow, broken shoulder ,over 50 staples in my head, it sux, the truck in front of me bump his lights, I was looking at his tail lights never saw the hole, damn hole still in the road 😊
I can't blame you Juells, you are not alone. My husband. I experience that kind of rudeness of my people which is not right. We were walking and I was behind him, this guy said something bad about my husband, I stared at him and if I was not 8 months pregnant that time I might smash his face. Good thing my husband didn't hear was he said. Just ignore those kind of people, that life get well yourself for your family, God bless you
Good luck with your rant Julian! It’s YOUR responsibility to protect yourself and your family! No matter WHAT country your in! As far as I’m concerned it’s your fault you were even on a motorcycle!
USED TO VISIT DUMAGUETE OFTEN, WE HAVE A MOUNTAIN HOUSE IN CEBU AND COME TO DUMAGUETE AND VALENCIA, NOW BACK IN THE STATES FOR A FEW YRS TO SELL ALL MY CRAP HERE. STAY STRONG BROTHER
Don't give them the glory. Also, just like back at home the miserable people are usually the loneliest people in the village. Also, some words only make things worse depending on who is listening 🤫 personal friends really come in handy in times like this. I wish you the best going forward. Protect your children don't make them bigger targets than they already are. Some people are pure nut jobs I'm sure you have to know this. Don't expect everyone to have the same mental capacity that you are familiar with. 🤫
I pay way more than a regular salary when we have workers. I give money to many friends and family that have a medical crisis. I built our church, we were in a 2 car garage. You are right it is always the foreigners fault at everything. I agree with you.
What you are saying are all true my friend. When we lived there we didn't even think of getting a motorcycle but a Toyota Revo. You feel safer when you drive a car there. I'm glad you and your wife are both getting better. What you're doing on this content is doing you good - get if off your chest - you need to do that.
You sound like me Juells. i get along with most people but dont F with me or you will be getting a tongue-lashing. Some of these people are JEALOUS of you for living a good life. Enjoy Juells. Keep on Rocking in the Philippines!
Born and raised in the Philippines, road courtesy doesn’t exist in our country. Sorry to hear you had an accident. Living and driving in the US for a while , don’t know if I should drive in the Philippines again.
How much was your hospital cost? I am sure you were over charged by a significant amount. I live in Ormac and the cost to service my air-condition unit is 500.00 PHP. They come to the house with a air/water pressure device with other tools and they (2 guys) service the unit. It normally take 1 to 1.5 hours to complete. I don't know how big your unit or if you have more than one unit to be service My unit is a Sharp 1 horsepower unit I think. I have had it serviced maybe 5X over the past 4 plus years. They say(service manual) to do it every 3 months but I dont. Maybe they take your unit beck to their shop which maybe the reason for the additional cost. Before I have anything done I ask the locals what is the average cost. I can't depend on my wife to know. I also contact 3-4 places for a quote. I also sometimes ask to see their eqipment or ask about their equipment. Price gouging occurs everywhere including the USA. Using wisdom and common sense will significantly reduce the occurrence of over paying in most cases. (Especially Hospitals!!!) I wish you well. Respectfully
Speaking of the foreigner price I’ve started to learn what the true price of things are and now if I get the foreigner price I let them know that I know and I walk away. Eventually they’ll learn because they will lose money. One example is a house that I was previously renting. The owner is a Filipina and lives in the United States and gave my wife and I a price over Facebook marketplace and then when we showed up they added 1000php to the price and then upped it again the next year. We are friendly with the owner but it drove me crazy because she said she was happy that we were renting because we always paid on time and we took very good care of the house but I moved out to another house and now she’s having a hard time trying to rent out her house. 🤷🏻♂️ I am on a budget and I don’t have time to deal with people trying to charge me the foreigner price.
You bring up some good points and they are true at the end of day they don’t care it’s the culture here . I to have been hit and of course they drove off . Sooner or later it will happen here . I hope you get some justice you will be the first .
Brother please let those idiots comments roll off you're back. You got three of the coolest kids. I can just tell by your interactions with them, you and momma raised them right. Get another helmet and get back on the bike. Be safe
Great video but have a understanding when you go on the hunt. I chased down a drug addict that stole from me. When I approached the vehicle he was living in. I wish that upon no one. He created his own hell. The addiction already got him. They say China is providing the phentanal(spelling?)) big drug problems in the US. Secret war? Stay safe Your a great father/husband.
RUclips is your memories. So when it's our time to go home to God or where ever. Our children will see these videos. And hear our voices. So we do it for our memories and family and children. Don't let trolls bother you brother
sounds like a better place to visit than to live! PS for what it is worth, Elvis seems like a very nice caring person. I am sure you are proud of the young man he is becoming.
I don't drive in the Philippines. My wife keeps asking me to drive ,so we don't have to catch a ride or get a driver. She's going to get her driver's license, but I still don't want to drive. I ride a bicycle, or take a trike, or bus or whatever. It's just too many hazards , and alot of stress. I've played chicken with motorcycles in my lane because they want to turn left, all kinds of crazy stuff.
You obviously don't realize that you are the perfect statics for getting killed in a trike/motorbike accident in he philippines? Jesus dude look up statistics.
Hey Juells, Your name came up with Justin Carmack in messages with Mark Thornton. I trust you're not sharing personal information with subscribers but then i see this. Trust me you're mentioned in my new video entitled Dont let Mark Thornton interview you.

He ran off cause he didn't have a license. That's why.
Smart advice. Small car or multicab what y think? What type of small car u like?
I can't blame you Juells, you are not alone. My husband. I experience that kind of rudeness of my people which is not right. We were walking and I was behind him, this guy said something bad about my husband, I stared at him and if I was not 8 months pregnant that time I might smash his face. Good thing my husband didn't hear was he said. Just ignore those kind of people, that life get well yourself for your family, God bless you
RIP Juells 🕊️
Good luck with your rant Julian! It’s YOUR responsibility to protect yourself and your family! No matter WHAT country your in! As far as I’m concerned it’s your fault you were even on a motorcycle!
The truth has been spoken Bro but what concerns me is what kind of background laws do these people have if any
USED TO VISIT DUMAGUETE OFTEN, WE HAVE A MOUNTAIN HOUSE IN CEBU AND COME TO DUMAGUETE AND VALENCIA, NOW BACK IN THE STATES FOR A FEW YRS TO SELL ALL MY CRAP HERE. STAY STRONG BROTHER
Get out of U.S. before its all out war in the U.S.
well said .when Filipinos come over there is no skin tax on them ..there treated equal when buying stuff ect
Are able to build in Zambales? I am looking at property there. I liked the video of the house.
No im in dumaguete and got kids in school...sorry
So funny and so true" Its my frickin channel I will do what I want" right on bro. All the best to you.
Don’t let the devil take your peace
Your looking beaten down Dr.G spot, g man. Take your vitamins and don't play with God. Bless his name, never use his name in vain. Be blessed.
It has to feel good to air your grievances on here. It would be the only reason I'd like to have a youtube channel.
VERY SCARY
True that brother! I’m with you.
Lots of extortion here
Damn, you're a living testimony it takes a lot to put a southern boy down. Keep stroking my friend.
your great and open mined and easy going to the max but !!! dont want to piss you off any day of the week ,, stay strong like a bull !!!
Many thanks
You bring up some good points and they are true at the end of day they don’t care it’s the culture here . I to have been hit and of course they drove off . Sooner or later it will happen here . I hope you get some justice you will be the first .
Leave Dramaquette and move to BGC even Iloilo. More safe friendly to foreigners and very safe.
Don't worry about haters you are doing great 💯 glad you doing better!
Glad you're feeling better. It would be great if they found the guy, and you at least got an apology. But it's probably better off to let it go.
Feel better po...🙏🙏
Wolves and snakes all amongst these folks in the Phils including the EXPATS . Stay frosty J !
Brother please let those idiots comments roll off you're back. You got three of the coolest kids. I can just tell by your interactions with them, you and momma raised them right. Get another helmet and get back on the bike. Be safe
I just found your channel. I am 72 yr old Haole in Hawaii. I wanted to move to Cebu but I now don't know
Great video but have a understanding when you go on the hunt. I chased down a drug addict that stole from me. When I approached the vehicle he was living in. I wish that upon no one. He created his own hell. The addiction already got him.
They say China is providing the phentanal(spelling?)) big drug problems in the US. Secret war?
Stay safe
Your a great father/husband.
Thanks
RUclips is your memories. So when it's our time to go home to God or where ever. Our children will see these videos. And hear our voices. So we do it for our memories and family and children. Don't let trolls bother you brother
My man, looks like the PI has aged you dramatically. Keep on keeping on. Feel better.
You’re in a great mood. We all have bad days. I understand
sounds like a better place to visit than to live!
PS for what it is worth, Elvis seems like a very nice caring person. I am sure you are proud of the young man he is becoming.
Very much so
I don't drive in the Philippines.
Don't give time or attention to trolls, that's what they want. Just ignore, that they hate
Once we grab our keys here in the Philippines, it's our fault. Don't forget it buddy sir.
Hey Juells,
Your name came up with Justin Carmack in messages with Mark Thornton. I trust you're not sharing personal information with subscribers but then i see this. Trust me you're mentioned in my new video entitled Dont let Mark Thornton interview you.
